( You hear something rustling in the back, followed up by mumbling you cannot quite make out )
— @thespringbeforethestorm
*Deirdre was in her kitchen before the sound caught her attention, she looked out the window but couldn't quite see what was there. Deir being a brave or stupid individual she was decided to walk out back into her garden to investigate but did bring a little spray bottle with her.*
( What was there was the silhouette of someone emerging from the woods, staggering forth through a bush. At first they didn't seem to hear Deir, caught up in removing whatever stickers and thorns stuck to their tattered skirt. )
( When they do notice, they freeze up, staring. )
*Deirdre stared back at them before slowly walking closer.* "Who's there?" *Deir's voice was on the colder side, she wasn't sure who was there.*
( She continues to stare, allowing Deir closer, but the moment she gets too close, she takes a misstep back that sends her back down into the bush with a near silent yelp. )
Are you alright? *Deir watched as the stranger fell backwards before she walked closer, holding out a hand.* That bush doesn't look all that comfortable... Wait... Do I know you?
( She takes Deir's hand with a shaky one compared to the certainty of Deir and gives an awkward nod to the first, getting up with some help and possibly a little struggle. Then the second comes and she just kinda stares up at her. )
( From the looks of it they look almost like someone she may know, just paler. The bright pinks desaturated into greyer pastels. A mere echo of what once was there. She grimaces after a moment, looking away and trying to speak )
It's been a long time, I uh.. couldn't say whether er we knew each other or not.
*Deir helped steady them, making sure they weren't gonna full over on her. She paused for several moments, thinking.* Are you Berries? *Deirdre paused again before muttering something to herself.* Would you like to come inside? I can get you something to drink if you like.
( Berries tried to steady themselves with the help of Deir, though she tended to slouch to the left which at one point caused her to lean into Deir at one point only to quickly shrink away. She nods once again with half certainty. )
Anon war one... Yep thas mee..
( Her eyes rolled around in her skull trying to get an idea of where she was in relation to The Woods, Deir's House, and what lay beyond that. )
Er... Yes I uh would like that... 'S been a moment since I... Y'know..
*Deir flinched when Berries leaned on her before steadying herself as she helped Berries back home.* Well its definitely been some time since the two of us talked. Would you like some tea? I've also got some bread I was baking that should be done soon.
( She would look around a little, squinting at the light. )
Definitely I uh-- tea would be lovely. Peach tea is good, any kind... The bread also sounds nice.
( She tries to find her way to the dining area and misses by a little, but enough to be corrected. )
You alright there? *Deirdre made sure Berries had gotten herself seated before walking away into the kitchen. The smell of freshly baked sourdough with a hint of chocolate could be smelt as it wafts through the house. Several minutes later Deir walks back with two cups and sets one down in front of Berries.* I've got the tea but it may be a little hot so be careful, the bread is still cooling.
Mm just hard to see..
( She looks into the cup as its set down, her reflection in the orange liquid stares back. Soon enough she is looking over to Deirdre smiling softly. She seems to relax a lil with the scent of bread, cozing up in the chair as her fingers wrap around her cup, cold hands soaking up the warmth. )
Thank you very much... I appreciate it..
It's not a problem. *Deirdre smiled back, her ears perking up before she took a sip of her tea.* So how've you been since the anon war? It seems we have both changed since then.
( She lifts the cup to her lips, breathing out a sigh steam blowing against her face before she sips.. )
Quiet, working hard as usual... though alot of the time was nothing more than but a blip.
( She pauses, swirling the liquid a little. )
Then I "woke" up and fell down a cliff. Now I'm here.
How are you doing after the fall? If you'd like a can take you to a friend who's a doctor. *She did make a bit of a face when mentioning to take Berries to the doctor as she didn't exactly want to visit.* As for the blip in your memory maybe you can find out what happened? If you want to figure out what happened that is. I know those can sometimes be things you burry down for a reason. *Deirdre sighed before taking another sip of her tea.* I will admit, it is nice to finally have some company around here.
I think m'fine... if you would prefer to get me checked out then.. maybe?
( They shift in their seat, eyes looking back into her tea. She would look back up to Deir. )
I vaguely remember the medic-- not by much but... Y'know. He seemed nice enough... I just cannot remember where he was set up.. He was a he, yeah?
(There was a pause before she sighs, tracing the handle of her cup.)
Maybe, or maybe it'll resurface itself... Weird dreams do occur from time to time... But on another note, glad to provide such company. It's been some time for me as well since I've properly been someone's company... Tis.. quite nice.
Going to the clinic is up to you as I personally hate going and wouldn’t make someone go, but yes the clinic is ran by Coffee. He’s quite nice, I know my neighbor likes hanging out with him.
*Deirdre did pause, thinking for a few moments, it had been quite some time since she actually had company.*
Dreams can be strange… cycles also can especially once you break out of one, it is nice though to have company who isn’t just your neighbor.
*Deirdre chuckled a little.*
If you would like you can take one of the guest rooms I have, if you plan on staying around, I know I’ve see you around here in the past. Just seems more comfortable then the ground.
