it’s nice to have a friend is probably one of the most interesting songs i’ve ever heard. it’s so haunting, it’s so eerie. it sounds hollow and depressing even if the subject matter is the exact opposite. it sounds lonely. taylor’s almost monotone voice chanting the lyrics also makes everything feels like it’s moving in slow motion. and the “oooo”s sound like wind blowing through dying trees. this song makes me feel like a dreery day with gray skies and rain. foggy. this song is like cold and wet weather in an empty forest on a winter afternoon.
