My theory on who “Her” is on This Is Us. I think it’s Beth!
Okay I think that Beth is “Her” on the This Is Us and this is my theory on why I think it.I could be wrong and maybe it’s Kate as that as my other guess. I think that Rebecca is too obvious and I think Kate is too but you know like I said I could be totally off base with it. I am wondering if they are going to do an early on-set Alzheimer's story-line with Beth but I could be wrong there too. One of the reasons I’m leaning towards early on-set Alzheimers is after last nights episode during the scene with Jack and Miguel he makes a comment to Miguel about being 65 years old and not knowing who people are. I just thought that was odd of Jack to say that. The other reasons Iv’e thought it was Beth was in the episode where she lost her job it showed her having that episode where she shuddered, then there was a time where they showed her having trouble thinking, and then they showed it again last night where she is obviously struggling. Plus her outburst she had could have been the start of a personality change. But honestly the biggest reason I think it’s her is because in the Season 2 finale every time they would go from the future to present day the camera would focus on Beth and they did the same thing in the premiere of Season 3 when they went from future to present. I don’t know. I could be wrong about it all. Maybe it is Kate but all I know is at this point I’ve thought it was Beth since Season 2 finale. Anyways here is why I thought it was Beth from the start. BTW I’m also going to explain why I don’t think it’s Deja or Annie.
So to start off this is 10-15 years into the future Annie is between the ages of 15-20 years old and a lot of theory's surrounding her seem to be that she gets into drugs. I honestly don't see them making her a druggie or stripper but I totally understand why people are theorizing this. I agree it is a great theory and who knows maybe I am wrong. As for Deja, I think she turns out to be good and here is why I think so. I'm going to break down/analyze Randall's speech that he did at Kate’s wedding in the Season 2 Finale.
Here is the dialogue typed out via closed caption on Hulu:
Present Randall: Those of you who know me know I'm big on control. It's taken me 37 years to to accept the fact that there is absolutely zero point in trying to control the future cause nobody knows where we'll be. Not even a year from now. But what we can control are the people we choose. Choosing our people is the closest we come to controlling our destiny.
**Present Tess: **Where is Deja?
Randall: Because while everything else may change, if you choose right, your people will stay the same.Scene shifts to show Deja destroying the car.
Randall: Whether that's tonight.or a year from now.
(Scene shifts to future Tess and Randall)
Randall Continues: Or 10 years from now
I think that this whole entire scene was to tell us that even though right now we are seeing Deja go down the wrong path of destructive behavior that as the years goes by because she was with the Pearson family who are extremely good people that she ends up in the long run ending up becoming a really good person. I also think this is what inspires Tess to have a career in the Social Work field. She seen how destructive and troubled Deja was in the beginning and was able to witness her change into a good person with no behavioral issues because of the love she received from Beth and Randall. This inspired her to want to help children like Deja go down the right path and place them in family's so that they also get that same love. I think this is also why they showed that little boy not that he is in any relation but to show the career path Tess took. Just my opinion but that's how I interpreted us
.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Future Randall: It's time to go see her, Tess. (Would also like to point out that Randall was crying you can see the tears in his eyes)
Future Tess: I'm not ready.
**Future Randall: **Me neither
I don't know if anyone caught onto this part but the camera then shifts its focus right onto present day Beth and Tess. Then it is followed by Randall ending his speech by congratulating Kate/Toby.The music starts playing then the camera shows us Kate/Toby. The scene then cuts to Mandy Moore, then right back onto Beth doing a cheers, Kate and Toby again when they kiss, Toby hugging Kevin, Beth and the two girls dancing, Kate/Randall hugging, Rebeca/Kevin, future Kevin, present day Toby and his Dad, Future Toby, Present day Rebecca/Kate hugging, Another focus On Beth and the girls dancing, then the final scene to Randall watching the girls and Beth then right after that we see future Tess getting up from the table she's sitting with Randall and leaving a bit quickly, after that we see Beth and Randall together with Tess right in the background, back to present day Kate, Rebecca, Kevin and Beth's cousin. Why would they have focused so much on Beth more than any others? I literally just did a play by play of it. They showed Beth a total of 6 times. When they cut to that scene of Beth/Randall facing each other with Tess in the background was to show that Tess and Randall were talking about Beth. It was sort of mirroring that future scene in my opinion only Beth was not shown in the future. I think Beth is dying of the last stages of Alzheimers and they are getting ready to go see her. Randall comes to tell Tess she needs to go see her because its getting close to where she's going to die and when Tess says "I'm not ready" its because she's not ready to say good-bye to her mother. I really think Beth has Alzheimer and she's literally on her way out. Maybe Annie and Deja are already over there so that’s why we haven’t seen them yet.
