I'm honestly so embarrassed and disgusted by Manchester United fans this evening. Booing everytime Alessia Russo touches the ball. She's been an integral part of United's success for the last three years and this is how you repay her? What a blatant disrespect and disregard of a former player.
This is getting beyond ridiculous now...
Arsenal has had the worst luck this season, but my god, have they shown what being a team is actually about! They have been resilient and shown strength.
But my heart breaks for every single one of these players, having to watch a teammate in pain and distress again and again nearly every game this season, and having to keep their heads in the game...
Anyone?
The notes are a hoot.
I just suffered through major second hand embrassment watching Maya comfronting Lola and Clément...Girl took it a step too far.
Understandably Lola was really angry, and honestly, same. This wasn't Maya being insecure and jealous - this was Maya being downright disrespectful to Lola and it was insulting to watch!
Lola: *specifically asked Maya to give her some time so she could process this break up, because Lola actually loves Maya and wants to be with her but doesn't feel like it's mutual...*
Maya: *Stalks her on Instagram, shows up to a study session to throw around disguting acusations and be biphobic, oh and takes a job at her ex girlfriend's school so she can be close to her...*
I'm so happy that Lola for stood up to Maya and told her, "I owe you nothing." You do you, girl! Maya seriously needs to get a grip.
My, uncalled for, two cents about that break up clip...
Maya: "But saying i love you, doesn't prove anything..."
Lola: "But not saying it proves everything."
The second that clip dropped i knew it would be gutwrenching, but god damn, that shit broke me.
It broke my heart to see Lola so heartbroken and defeated, just wanting Maya to show her that she actually does love her, but Maya being unable to give Lola what she needs. Imagine waiting a year and a half for your girlfriend to tell you, "I love you." and she just can't do it...
Maya has deeply rooted abandoment, commitment and trust issues, and who can blame her? Very young she lost two people she loved the most and had to be fostered by people that didn't want or love her. It's no wonder that she found a coping mechanism that allows no one gets too close, because in her mind it probably means that by pretending that everything is fine and it doesn't hurt, she protecting herself from feeling that pain ever again. But right now she's so much in denial about it, that it's sort of blinding her from reality right now. And i'm sorry, but that girl seriously needed a reality check, and sort of glad that Lola was the one to give it to her.
Sidenote: Can we just applaud Flavie and Ayumi Roux for their acting? Holy shit...
I'm so excited to see Maya's season and I think that it's a huge testament to Lola and Maya's love story and the impact it had, that Maya is the first love interest to become a main. *insert applause*
However that being said...I'm not at all ready for Lola and Maya's relationship to be absolutely destroyed by the writers and for Lola's character to be treated like complete shit. I know, I know - I'm the captain of Lola Lecomte's defense squad at this point, and I don't even care. #JusticeForLola
I know that we can't have a season without a lot of obstacles and totally unnecessary drama, but if the last two seasons are anything to go by... Lola and Maya are in for a rough time and I'm not here for it...
*My final thoughts about Tiff's season*
I didn't think i would enjoy watching Tiff's season after the way she was portrayed in Lola's, but honestly... I kinda loved it.
I loved that the writers tried to do something new, whilst still maintaining the essence of Skam - even the most annoying parts, such as the unecessary drama right at the end of the season, the waiting for clips and the mediocre social media usage. But I did think that the social media was a little better this season?
I loved that the season had two love stories, in a sense. Of course there's Tiff and Max, which was adorable. But also the love story between Tiff and Moïra - that's was the main one for me. How she went from denying from her pregnancy and giving her daughter away, to wanting to keep Moïra and learning how to love her and be best mother possible. Plus baby Moïra was the cutest thing ever.
I liked that each character sort of had their own sub plot - Jo with Matheo, Redouane and his "Hyper Impossible", Max and his court hearing, and let's not talk about Mayla's, cause that was a whole hot mess...
But speaking of Lola, the only thing that I didn't really care for, was the way Lola was mistreated in this season. How they disrespected her recovery by having her drink alcohol and smoke weed, how they made her feelings about Tiff joining La Mif invalidated and quickly they glossed over Tiff and Lola's debacle from the previous season. I would have loved to see a little more developement there, especially after the thing with Moïra, which I'm still salty about...
*I'm disappointed, but not surprised.*
They really had to give us another drama right at the very end, didn't they? With one episode remaining might I add! That's the most frustrating thing about Skam France, I find.
They had several episodes where it was all unicorn glitter and rainbows this season, and had plenty of time to spread out the drama but no... it always has to go sideways at episode nine. But as far as I recall Lola was knee deep in shit by episode three in her season, and everything just went from bad to worse every episode...And now I'm just sat watching Tiff thinking, "how on earth are they going to solve all this mess in just one episode?" Tiff still hasn't spoken to her parents or Aurélien. She hasn't gotten back together with Max. She's probably not going to get that internship. She has social workers on her back and her daughter has been taken because she left her alone. She blames Lola for not being responsible enough which once again ruins their newfound trust and friendship.
Speaking of Lola, when is that poor girl going to catch a break? Her suffering just seems endless... And why did everything have to go wrong when Lola was watching Moïra? Out of all the people who has been watching her since she was reunited with Tiff, of course it had to be Lola. Totally unecessary. She didn't mean to lock herself out so she had to call the police. And Moïra, thankfully, wasn't physically hurt. Could Lola have called someone else to help her? Could be. Did she have to go outside to take a phonecall? Maybe not, but she was just trying to look after Moïra. AND on top of ALL that, they're ruining Maya and Lola's relationship... hard pass on that one.
*This has nothing to do with Tiff, but something is really pissing me off*
I'm sorry, but I really can't deal with Maya's behavior towards Lola this season. Like, girlfriend... What are you doing? I understand that she might not be ready to move in with Lola because it's too soon and that she might have commitment issues due to her past, but she's like straight up rejecting her, being rude and cold all the time. Is Lola maybe pushing the "moving in together" a little hard? Maybe. Could it be that Lola is a little clingy? Perhaps. But when Lola suggested that her and her girlfriend babysit together, Maya was like, "Um no, we're not siamese twins. We can do stuff on own, you know. We don't have to be together all the time." No, we know... But the way you're acting, you'd think you didn't want to be with Lola at all. It's like both Lola and Maya got brand new personalities during the last five months - and to be honest... It's a no from me.
I'm trying so hard to be on Max's side and understand where he's coming from, but homeboy is making it so difficult...
I understand that Max feels insecure about a number of things. Firstly about Tiff being his first girlfriend since his transitioning, and being afraid of not being enough or if he is capable of making someone happy. Secondly that his new girlfriend has a child with someone else, and that he's a little jealous and feels like a third wheel in this new family constellation. I get that.
But don't be a fucking jerk, Max. It doesn't suit you. The fact that he used Moïra being in the hospital and not answering his messages against Tiff to deliberately hurt her was a low blow. Tiff has done nothing but be supportive and understanding of Max's feelings and insecurities and tried to reassure him that he is enough for her and that he makes her happy. She just told him she loves him, for gods sake...
I get that he acknowledged that his behavior was shitty, but nah - that ain't gonna cut it for me...
*I'm not Team Aurélien or Team Max, I'm on Team Tiff.*
Remember that time a week ago, when we were all like, "Maybe this season there won't be a hell week and there's litterally no drama!" Oh boy, did we speak too soon, huh? We all knew that it was coming, but why does it have to be so unnecessary and exaggerated drama?
It really bugs me that this has turned into being all about Max being insecure about Tiff and their relationship because of Aurélien. Because it's not actually about Max. It's about Tiff. And Moïra. Tiff's little baby that was seriously ill in the hospital.
Aurélien has to be there, rightly so, because he's her dad, and of course Tiff and Aurélien are going to bond over their sick baby, you know co-parenting, and of course they're going to be happy and elated that their daughter is gong to be fine, so they hugged, big whoop. Don't make it into something it's not.
*My opinion that no one asked for*
The first thing that sort of irked me about friday’s clips was how Lola’s character was portrayed... Would the Lola from last season ever wear that sort of clothes? And the even bigger question is why an recovering alcohol and drug addict is drinking alcoholic beverages? I understand that Lola wanted to change and be better, and that’s why she spent three months in rehab, but are we supposed to believe that after five months she’s just fine to do whatever she wants after everything she went through? Not to mention that she was almost sexually asaulted and that her dad actually hit her? Nah, dude - I don’t think so. It's actually really disrespectful to Lola's character and I wish the writers had given that a little more thought, maybe have someone mention that she still goes therapy or have her drink non-alcohol drinks...
That being said I still love Lola and she’s one of my favorite characters!
A third opinion that might be very unpopular*
I'm sorry, but I think it's really unfair that everyone is slamming Tiff for asking Max's name, before he was known as Max and talking about second hand embrassment whilst watching the clip and calling her uneducated. You just don't do that, Tiff! That's a no-go. Like, how is she supposed to know that? I think that's sort of the point of the clip. We know Tiff and how she used to be, just take a look at Lola's season and what sort of friends she had before - she doesn't have any problems with Max being transgender, but that doesn't automatically mean she knows every right and wrong, but you can tell that she wants to learn and do the right thing, and hopefully she'll educate herself further... (Of course she will, they'll be possibly be dating by the end of this season!)
*Another opinion that might be unpopular*
I, for one, think that Auréliens reaction was actually really valid and realistic. What did everyone expect to happen? That he’d be absolutely ecstatic and be like, this is the best news ever! He is just a kid, who for whatever reasons we don’t know yet, ended up sleeping with someone who wasn’t his girlfriend and is dreading that his girlfriend might find out about it - adding that he doesn’t actually know, that his girlfriend already knows and totally invaded his privacy by deleting a very important message from Tiff off his phone. And now here’s said other girl, telling him “Surpise! I was pregnant, I’m keeping it and you’re now all of sudden a father, by the way.”
With all that being said, I have a huge amount of respect for Tiff, that she had the decency to tell Aurélien in person that she had a baby and that she let him know that she didn’t expect him to be apart of it, if he didn’t want to and that she’d deal with it on her own. Good for you, sister!
Amongst a number of other things that I already find strange about Tiff's season, I find it particularly strange that Tiff's "actual" friends Louise and Anaïs seem to have no opinion on the fact that their friend is now hanging out with the girl that Tiff bullied endlessly last year and that girl's friends and is now a part of La Mif. You know, instragram official. They're just walking around like, cool! It seems a little off to me that they haven't even batted an eyelid...
I have feeling that their reaction is coming soon enough and I expect it to become very ugly between them, but still... As if they wouldn't have reacted already?
