“ just because you say it doesn’t make it true. ” though it was sort of a hypocritical statement, wanda held her head high. she’d obviously believe her own word over a cruel stranger’s. “ what about you? what were YOU like when you were younger? ” she countered quickly, her voice full of opposition. everyone was a child once. everyone threw hissy fits, too. that didn’t mean they were any less difficult to deal with — just that they happened.
deb almost laughed, a single nod of her head, “except it is true- whether it’s me sayin’ it or not.” she always found it amusing when someone challenged her. confrontation was not something deb backed away from. it kept her life interesting, “me?” deb raised her eyebrows in mock surprise, “well, i was completely perfect. what else would you expect? i was a great baby.” of course, deb had been just as fussy as any other baby, but no one could fact check that
