Please help my friend, Consuelo.

My friend for many years, Consuelo (AKA @janedoodles ) has just been kicked out of her house. She’s a kindhearted person and a talented artist, but her mother has been very abusive to her. This is the final straw.

Consuelo has set up a tip jar on her blog page for people to donate to her finding a new home and being able to afford living on her own. Any donations to that and advice or offers to help her get on her feet are dearly appreciated. She is currently living in California and needs somewhere to go now.

The Queen is, well, surprised would be an understatement, by the sight of the axe. An obvious mistake on Boxcar’s part, made all the more apparent as he lost control of it, the axe slicing through the boardwalk & quickly falling out of sight. As Boxcars became flustered by this little slip up, the Queen simply laughed, waving off his mistake before pulling Boxcars into a hug, resting her head against his chest.

“And here I was wondering if you were going to axe me a question.” Wendy snickered, before beaming up at him. “Relax, dear. I thought it was cute.”

Oh shit... oh SHIT she’s hugging you??? 

Your brain short circuits for a moment and for a moment all you can think is how wet she would be getting from hugging your soaked chest... but then you decide to take a chance and wrap your arms gently around her for a few seconds. 

Then your usual embarrassment kicks back in and you pull away, removing your hat and shaking it to try and get rid of the water. 

“There’s a ring toss near the Ferris Wheel. Wanna see which one of us can win the biggest prize?” Just this once, you decide to push through your usual bafoonery and try to have fun with your date. She claims she genuinely wants to spend time with you, and if she does, who are you to complain?

The Queen arrived a few minutes ahead of schedule, much to her own relief. She’d spent longer than she’d intended getting ready, no thanks to Arabelle, who had been convinced that her wide-brimmed hat was the perfect toy. Between that & a tasteful sheath dress, WQ felt perfectly suited for a night out. Arriving at the provided coordinates, she was pleasantly surprised to spot Boxcars already waiting for her. Waving, she strolled over to the man, smiling brightly up at him as she approached.

There she is! You wave back at her and smile, pulling out your duplicate TWO OF HEARTS. You quickly switch its object duality and OH GOD THAT ISN’T YOUR ROSE THAT’S ONE OF YOUR BATTLE AXES SHIT.

The unexpected weight of the ax falls onto the wood floor of the boardwalk and cuts through easily, falling down to the lake beneath and splashing you and your date with water. Fuck.

“Uh. That wasn’t ‘sposed to happen!” Goddamnit why are you so shit at romance!?

Okay, be cool Boxcars. You’re cool. You have your casuals on and a nice little tasteful rose in your inventory to slip out of your DECK OF CARDS and into her hand once she gets here. The weather’s good tonight, not too col and not too hot, and the carnival is in full swing. All you gotta do is wait for her to show up. You already showed up ten minutes earlier so you could greet her. 

You idly hope that Deuce will be able to handle babysitting Tavros while you’re away. Your brother can be very forgetful a lot of the time...

“all time? shit..” He scoffs down the rest of his food, licking his fingers clean them swiping them against his pants for reassurance that they were at least partially clean. “wish i could say it was English if i’m bein’ honest. didn’t exactly get there..” Slick’s fingers curl up, tense, then the reaches up to scratch the back of his neck paying attention to its ridges. “would say Snow, but her’s wasn’t somethin exactly satisfyin’.”

He starts to turn, taking slow steps at to remember easily. “Hard t’ say, they’re all satisfyin’ in their own damn special way. Gotta say killin’ some fuck’s after Boxcars’ death a while ago was goddamn satisfying. So that fer now. You got any good kills?”

Slick’s very shocked when his alternate mentions that his Boxcars is dead, but he’s got no sympathy for hearing about the bitch’s death, so he chalks it up as as a wash and shrugs. 

“I'd say the most memorable was this one guy, real nutty piece of shit. Called himself ‘Probability Wasp Professor’ and tried to start shit with the kids while me ‘n the Crew were out. The funny part is, that dickwheel got wrapped up in a huge ass trap thing by the kids by the time we got home, so’s all I had to do was shank him in the throat while he hung upside down.” Slick chuckles. “Droog complained about the blood in the carpet for weeks.”
