Alcohol is definitely not a cure for depression, but I really just want to drink myself into oblivion. I don't want to think about or remember anything, even if only for a little while.

Sometimes I really just want to disappear. It wouldn't help with my loneliness, but maybe it would help with my frustrations.

This isn't rock bottom, but it sure feels like it.

Am I really so desperate for company now that I'm considering accepting invitations from people I don't even like...

I'm amazed at the control I've developed over my emotions. Or maybe it's not control at all--rather it's me reverting to the bottling up of years past.

I've adopted a policy these days that it's just better to let go of the little things. Or everything. It's not that I have a problem with conflict, it's just that there's no point having it with people who don't listen and don't care. One-sided arguments just never work. But the continuity of certain things--my lack of any real life, face-to-face people to talk to, my "aloneness" as opposed to "loneliness," the repetitive betrayal of my trust by those I associate(d) with--does cause certain emotions to build up. I'm so frustrated almost all of the time, and pushing down anger and hurt feelings constantly to keep a calm state of mind wears on me. It's hard.

I feel sort of stuck, because I'm not really sure what I can do to branch out... I know I need to meet new people, but going out isn't always the best way to do it. Small talk here and there does not a friend make, and people (including myself) don't always have the courage or the will to do more. I won't be in college until next summer at the earliest because of extenuating circumstances and finding a stable job isn't really instantaneous. I need to find a book club or a dance class or something--something productive that will occupy my time and get my mind off of things. I just wish I didn't have to drive to Atlanta all the time to do it.

I'm not really in a position where I view friendships as lasting things. At least not ones involving the people I've been friends with. But then I look at other people's groups, friendly acquaintances that I have, that seem so close and I wish I had the foresight to see what we'd all turn out like now four years ago. I suppose no one has that kind of clairvoyance though, huh?

I just wish I could have any kind of relationship that would last through more than a couple of years. The kind of people who you actually think are worth making up with after an argument, the kind of people who can make the transition from day-to-night without any uncomfortability or uneasiness. I don't know why it's so hard for me to find that. I'd settle for a good conversation with anyone at this point, though.

Watching movies alone gets old after awhile.

I just want to get drunk. Sometimes it's better to forget.

It's always hard thinking of what to say at first, on these things.

Mostly I'm here because I, like so many others who use this site (or the so many others who could most definitely benefit from using it), am troubled. Blogs are always the best places to express your thoughts, right?

I benefit from the blank page; I seek an escape from circling thoughts.

I also enjoy being able to interact with others so much like me, who may share an occasional opinion or feeling in one of my posts.

I've done a good job of not rambling on, for once, so I'm going to leave it here.
