Jaylah was an interesting character, because we wanted to have this resourceful female who had been abandoned, who was alone on this planet. We started off calling her Jennifer Lawrence in Winter’s Bone, cause we wanted that kind of you know, resourceful girl. And then we called her J.Law and then that became Jaylah. So Jaylah is named after Jennifer Lawrence.
