10 September 1533 – The Christening of Elizabeth I
On this day in history, Wednesday 10th September 1533, Princess Elizabeth, daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, was christened at the Church of Observant Friars in Greenwich.
Elizabeth was just 3 days old, having been born on the 7th September, when she was processed along a carpet of green rushes from the Great Hall at Greenwich to the church.
On This Day - September 7. 1533 Elizabeth Tudor was born.

Katherine happily returned the embrace, delighted at the affection shown to her. It had been a lot time since she had enjoyed such a feeling, and she was overjoyed to receive it from her cousin whom she had admired all her childhood. “It pleases me greatly to hear that,” she said, beaming.
She noticed the smile on Anne’s face fade, and she glanced down at the floor momentarily, out of embarrassment for her eagerness, before looking back up with a smaller, more modest smile on her face.
"Yes, I am well, and I pray you are, too? "
"I am indeed. I am glad to see that you have returned to the King's favor, dear cousin.... but I must confess to you my great concern for you in doing so, Katherine..." she sighed, standing up and offering the younger former-Queen her arm, walking out of her chambers and into the hall.
"You understand, many of the men who saw you and I both to our deaths have returned, and some of those men have regained much of their power. They have not changed. They are still snakes, and wicked creatures intent only on seeing our families fail. Have you considered this?"

Appearance: Anne’s chief glories were her large black eyes, an abundance of thick brown hair, and the most elegant neck this side of Audrey Hepburn.
Personality traits: When the only person keeping your many, many enemies at bay is a power-drunk egomaniac with the attention span of a small child, it’s only a matter of time before you’re bound to crack under the pressure. As the stress of her position intensified, Anne became increasingly neurotic, liable to fly off the handle at any given moment, but even her fiercest opponents had to admit that she was about a thousand times more fun to be with than anyone else at court. Meeting her cousin, Anne
Of all the women Katherine had been asked to pay her respects to, by the King, this was the one she was most excited for. She had grown up hearing that her very own cousin, connected to her by blood, had risen to the position of Queen Consort of England, and she had had such pride that she was related by blood to the Queen. Katherine had felt crushing disappointment when Anne fell, but thought of her often when she herself was arrested.
Katherine had been raised to respect her family links above all else, being from such a powerful house such as the Howards, and now, with the opportunity presented to her to meet such an impressive female cousin of hers, Katherine felt a surge of familial pride within her, alongside the dread that the worldly, clever Anne Boleyn would not share the same sentiment. She had to, Katherine told herself. They were cousins. Katherine had taken care of her daughter. Surely, Anne had to care for Katherine too, to some degree.
"Mi’lady, I have come to see you on the behest of His Majesty, the King, and for my own pleasure. I am Lady Katherine Howard, the fifth wife of the King, and your cousin."
Anne swelled with pride at the sight of her cousin, stretching out her arms towards her cousin, damning formality as she embraced the younger woman.
"Sweet Kate... my darling cousin, you are most welcome here..." she assured her. Her smile faded, when she thought of the horrible fate that befell her after she became Queen. They were so similar, and yet so different in every way.
