Hello!! I'm the ceiling snake! As the name suggests, that's where you'd usually find me. You could call me Blanche and you can refer to my pronouns as It/Its.

I like to explore, which means I'm not always at the same spot. Exploring is tiring though... so I'd appreciate some food if possible, rats, birds, and cheese are my main preference.

If I'm ever brought birds, I'd like to have them dead - they taste better that way. I also stay around Foundation sites sometimes, but don't ever try to put me in containment ...might bite you if you try

I’m still getting my bearings in the Library, it’s so different to containment… I don’t suppose you have any crutches lying around? I have a lot of issues with my joints due to my bones being- uh, squishy, I guess? A guy I met recently let me borrow a walking stick but it doesn’t work that well for me.

But really I just wanted a friend :] I never really had friends before.

(The snake falls down from a new hole in the ceiling, making a loud thud as it hits the floor.)

Hypothetically, if there was a tiny, aggressive bird trying to kill you, seeking vengeance for its dead family, what would you do??

They snorted.

"To be very honest... I don't know, you're a snake and it's a bird. You have to survive somehow, it's natural selection, so... I guess eat the bird."

(Just before it could respond, a tiny and certainly aggressive bird swooped down from the hole, going after the snake.)

I DIDN'T KNOW THOSE EGGS WERE YOURS, LEAVE ME ALONE-- AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

(It flees, heading straight out the medbay as the bird chases after. Loud squawking is heard right from the other hall, alongside the snake's cries for mercy.)

Of course!! Come by and grab some cheese! Don't mind the smell though, just some odd scent that came out of nowhere, nothing to be concerned about.

The snake did not answer due to being a literal snake and not one of the ceiling variety.

“Mmm… Did you hurt someone Ceiling Snake?”

I don't mean to pry, but earlier, I've managed to overhear you chatting with something in the walls.. Don't listen to it... especially the whole beheading thing... ugh

(The snake sounds less cheery today. It barely moves it head out from the hole its peering from.)

Uh.. could you bring me some fruit? doesn't matter if it's already spoiled, I'd like as much as you can give.

"Don't worry. You know our deal. As long as you don't start seeing me as a prey, I won't consider you a predator."

They reached to a bowl of fruits standing on the counter, grabbed the biggest apple and held it up as high as they could, so the snake could peek out and take it.

"Fruits, huh? That's unusual for you."

(It slowly got out from the hole, reaching over to grab the apple and proceeding to unhinge its jaw and swallow it whole. It looks to have gotten much bigger in size from the last they've fully seen it.)

Of course, I remember that deal of ours... and thank you again.. can I have more...? I'm just hungry is all!! uh... just trying to have variation with the things I eat now.

(It was lying, not like it was ever good at doing so. It sniffed around the room, slithering over to the journal it had handed them.)

Anywho, have you read this yet? It's got information regarding possible sightings and information on O5 members. Hm.. you know what the Overseer council is, right? I don't think the staff here should be left clueless, even if underlevelled.. don't tell a soul about this, alright? Some of the stuff inside isn't true, but at least the other parts are.

I've checked it with a rat, remember? Well, I suppose those things can't exactly read, but I'm sure the whole effect lies in an illustration on the page, it's some sort of pattern if you're curious, instant death if you stare at it. In Foundation terms a... memetic kill agent? Not sure if it's the right terminology, holds resemblance to one I've seen before. Those types of things don't have an effect on me, so I can't tell you any other specifics.

That whole Void thing seems to know a lot, perhaps you should ask about the Wanderer's Library? It's a lovely place filled to the brim with information, it would be perfect for any curious individual to visit ...If you can find your way in, that is.

I am glad that the cleanup of The Library is going so well after the Rat and Bird War.

While the archivist’s are fully capable of handling it themselves, your assistance has sped up the process… Even if unconventionally by most standards. You have my thanks.
