happy pride month

Since it’s pride month i’ve decided to make some posts informing people of anything wrong they might spread :) (if you have any sources reblog with them!)

do not call people lgbt people queer without their consent. do not call dead lgbt people queer. do not call the lgbt community the “queer community”. queer is and has always been a slur and a lot of the lgbt community view it as a slur. 

ace/aro people are not inherently lgbt. there is no “a for ace” in the lgbt community. “A” was created to stand for “allies” which is what CLOSETED lgbt folks use to be part of our community without being outed to abusers. “A” does not stand for “agender/ace/aro” seeing as Agender is under the “T”.

Intersex people are not inherently LGBT. Intersex individuals have stated this multiple times

BDSM kinksters + pedophiles are not LGBT and never will be. LGBT is not for “abnormal” people despite what the ace/aro community says.

Pan and Poly both fall under the “B”. Pansexual does not mean you are open to dating trans + NB people and saying so is openly transphobic (coming from a GAY trans NB man).

Trans women of color created this community. Respect them. Include them in your activism.
