La Fiesta Tech (low CC) makeover #5 LFT Student Union

"Nobody really knows why a knight is this university's mascot - Wouldn't all the desert sand and heat mess with his armour? Anyhow, Sir Dancelot has become an integral part of Fiesta Tech, welcoming students daily on their way to class, study goup sessions, hangouts or when they come to eat at the canteen."

I wanted this to be a little more like a real uni, even though the sims don't actually use the classrooms.

Anywhoo here's a slideshow of what it looks like from the inside and what kind of activities there are for your sims:

There are also 2 female, 1 male bathrooms (with shower) and a room with two beds, so you can stay as long as you want.. It is of course officially the room where the psychology students conduct sleep studies.. ;)

My Fiesta Tech is wealthyyy, because they have that tech money.. ya know.. And therefore everything is pretty modern and new.. If you like it more run-down, that is what SimState is for in my game ...

This is my remake of the Swim center, it now has lots of activities for your sims and fits into the build style of my Fiesta Tech. In my game I was aiming for Fiesta to be the new, modern uni that actually has Tech-type of-money to have nice campus buildings, while Sim State is just helplessly run-down and Académie Le Tour is whimsically parisienne and historic.

I was pretty happy with this one, so I didn't have to change much on my old remake to reuse it in my new playthrough.

La Fiesta Tech (low CC) makeover #1 Fun Side Dorm (new dorm to add to your game)

I am currently prepping a new playthrough of Strangetown, so I will be looking through my old Uni makeovers, update them if needed and document it on here.

This is what my FT looks like atm. I will put some lots up for download, if I like them enough as they are right now. (I packaged them all unplayed right after building/rebuilding them in an empty template)

First stop: 1) Fun Side Dorm (4 rooms)

This first one is a new build and not a makeover of a Maxis lot.

Yes, it only has four rooms because in actual gameplay, the dormies annoy me too much and my poor old laptop doesn't do too well with crowds.. same buddy, same...

I have the Ultimate Collection and Ikea Stuff was heavily used as well..

I remember that I recreated a lot I saw online called 'bright side dorm'., which is the lot marked as no. 6 on my LFT map. Back then I thought every custom lot would corrupt my game (and still sometimes, I have that fear). So I actually ended up recreating the ones I didn't trust in my own game by looking at the pictures for reference... After I recreated that dorm more or less accurately, I liked the style and made Fun side Dorm from scratch in a similar style. I can't remember the creator of the original dorm and have not had luck finding anything online, but thanks goes out to you for the inspiration!

Sooo, why should students want to live here? I mean fun side has a pool, basketball court, outdoor bbq.. The parties are going to be epic..

Kitchen&Bath "Stiller Life" Painting Recolors + Optional Default

Inspired by this recolour by rockethorse, I used some of Noah Verrier's other artworks to create a set of recolors and a default of my own.

For some of these (where it says 'fancy' in the preview and in the respective file-name) I used pforestsims frame-texture from their pretty recolors that I also use in my game. ❤︎

The DEFAULT file and the same picture as a normal recolour are clearly labeled in the folder:

Choose whichever you want to use in your game and delete the other one if you don't want duplicates.

Fyi: The different frames are unfortunately not subsets, but individual recolors.

Gryning's Night Warrior Eyes as Regular Defaults for your alien world (Two-Tone)

A set of Sims 2 default-eyes for your non-human gameplay using @gryning 's lovely Night Warrior eyes as a base. Happy to make customs & contacts of these if requested :)

They work perfectly in my game, but let me know if there are any problems, as these are my first eye-defaults :)

Keep reading to know why and how I use them in my game under the cut...

Soo, I use different game-folders for regular and alien-gameplay and wanted a set of outerworldly default eyes for the latter. I have tons of cc eyes and skins to make my playables look like outerworldly creatures. I also use colorful skin defaults by berrynoobos.

But some NPCs were still spawning with human eyes in my alien town, as I haven't really been able to find a set of non-human default eyes. All the good ones I found were all just 'choose-only-one"-type replacements for the maxis-alien eyes. So the regular eyes were still unaffected.

Trying out tons of custom alien/outerworldly eyes I've been playing around with these eyes by Gryning recently and decided to make a few two-tone recolours and turn them into defaults on a whim. And I kind of like them. They now replace the Maxis-eyes (brown, lblue, dkblue, brown and gray) in my alien game folder - No supernaturals yet, but they may follow.

I will update this post with more options and perhaps alternative swatches as soon as I feel like creating them for my game. Let me know if anyone wants custom versions instead of defaults or has any other ideas/requests. <3

Câlypsô Island is the wip tropical vacation hood of Sector 6045. There are two groups of locals: Gorgons (like Medusa) 🐍 and Sirens 🧜🏻‍♀️⋆˚.

For Asia, I'm thinking the residents could be cat-people, poly-juice-hermione-cat people is what I have in mind, or kitsune ofc. Somebody stop me, I need to finish the main hood first! 🙈

Welcome to Sector 6045

I started this neighborhood many many years ago inspired by jawusa's Aileen landing. (Hence the green sky with that gorgeous moon-trio) Went back to it today to do some nh decorating. The main city area is called The Outpost.

The concept for this was clean and tidy utopia with hints of that perfect society crumbling when you look closer. Naturally, there are gonna be some skeletons in some of the residents' closets 🤭

This side of the island is called Suburbia, where everything and everyone is very ... uhm ...normal and perfect, of course!!

I really hope I will start playing this someday... Do you know that feeling of not wanting to play, because it's not ready yet and you don't want to mess it up, but also really really want to play it nevertheless? 😭

Building a Sims 2 Tropical Vacation Subhood #3

The 'jungle'-side of my island is finally taking shape:

A few changes made to the original lot so far:

added small pretend ticket area with souvenir rack & till

added restroom

harvestable and climbable coconut trees

a bird stand so my sims can interact with a tropical birdy and it might even fly around the lot giving it extra jungle-vibes

added a second temple fountain that is actually accessable

hammock to chill out, easel for painting

placed invisible fishing spots

built on moon islands sc4, here, but I managed to place it in vanilla Twikki-island as well ➜ possible as long as there are no lots directy neighboring it because the shoreline doesn't match perfectly

RnB radio station speaker on lot (as I have all my lounge/ romantic dinner music in that folder)

I recommend using Clean Installer to install lots.

⚠︎ Even if this is cc-free, I do use a lot of mods in my game and I have not yet changed all the fallback GUIDs of global mods known to trigger the super-duper hug-bug if you don't have the same exact mods installed in your game (except for Gussy Up). ➜ Please use BO's mod to prevent in the first place and/or have the SuperDuperHugTest-mod to remove it, in case it gets triggered in your game :)
