There was no one else that Peter trusted more than Elijah when it came to this kind of fuck up. He was always the one that he called when he was in this kind of trouble and he knew that Eli could keep quiet and not tell their parents. Once the guard uncuffed him and let him out into the waiting area where Eli was waiting for him, he shook his head and rubbed at his temples. “Does it look like I did?” His pride wanted him to lie and say the other guy got his ass kicked but there were more of them and he and Tony didn’t stand a chance. He knew Evan had come by to bail Tony out already and he was sure his buddy was getting an earful right now. “Thanks for coming to get me.”

Elijah sighed when Peter responded to him. this wasn’t the first time that he was picking him up from lock up and he had a feeling that this probably wouldn’t be the last time. He watched his brother as he responded to his comment. “Yeah I saw Evan with Tony as I was coming in.” He sighed. “So who started it this time?” he asked. “I’m your big brother. I will always be here for you.” He added. “But you have me worried Peter.” Elijah walked with him until he was out to the car leaning on the hood of it waiting to hear anything his brother had to say.

Elijah didn’t know what was going on. He wasn’t sure why Peter was arrested, but he wasn’t going to leave his brother in jail. He had noticed him more withdrawn and absent than usual, which worried him. As he drove to bail him out, he decided that he was going to come home with him and try and figure out what was going on with his younger brother. He pulled into the station parking lot finding his way to the the desk to post his bail. After paying it, he sat and waited for Peter to appear from the back. When he caught a glimpse of him coming he sighed, the busted lips and black eye. When he was close he shook his head. “Did you at least win?” He asked him, catching a whiff of the alcohol on him.

While the art festival wasn’t entirely Jordan’s scene, he had already been to The Barnyard for the wet t-shirt contest and made his rounds at the beach to see if there was anyone worth spending his time on and when he’d tired of both of those he ended up strolling downtown prowling for milfs with more mature taste. But what he found was that here was a very serious lack of fun happening as people looked at boring artwork and most of the women there were with their husbands anyway. That was when his eyes landed on a favorite client of his, Elijah. “I bet you didn’t take me for a connoisseur of the arts, now did you?” He asked with a smirk as he approached the man with a devilish grin on his lips.

Elijah had been roaming around the art festival and finding nothing that caught his attention. He was bored to say the least. It wasn’t that their was nothing to do, there was plenty to do. But Elijah was itching for something else. He was looking for something to put his pent up energy into. Elijah was staring at a very pretentious piece of artwork, something he was sure was overpriced. A familiar voice appeared behind him. He turned to look at the man. “Are you here alone tonight?” He asked, ignoring the others question.

Dylan was making big moves with Iron Fitness. The goal was to make it into a chain of gyms that spread throughout the east coast in the next couple of years so he was spending a lot of time in business calls and with the new marketing team. Some days, it was hard to believe this was all starting from a small town that no one knew about. He heard Elijah’s voice the minute the call ended and laughed as he got up. “Making plans, bossing up, doing the old devil’s tango with anyone in my way.” He joked and raised his hand in a high five to greet his brother. “What’s up man? Did you know that we just put in an offer for a house in Rosewood Hills?” Who would’ve thought that the man standing there would drop his bachelor lifestyle without any hesitation. 

Eli couldn’t help the proud smile on his face as he listened to Dylan talk. He raised his hand to high five him back. “Wow, that’s amazing. I’m proud of you D. That’s great.” he told him. And it was the truth. He couldn’t believe how quickly he had gone from Dylan party guy, into Dylan responsible guy who was going to be a dad. “Where in the hills? How big is it?” He asked. “Also, I thought I’d come steal you for lunch. You got time to hang out with your older brother? “ He asked.

Emmi heard the doorbell ring. She had been working on a scrapbook in the living room with some of the salvaged photos from the fire for their dad’s birthday. She bounced over to the door and smiled softly when she say it was one of her big brothers. “Eli!” She knew apologies were in order because she had been too blunt with him a couple of months ago when he wanted her to visit their mom at the hospital. “Come on in,” Being good hosts was in their nature. “I have some sweet tea in the fridge and actually, I want your opinion on something!” Emmi stepped aside to let him in. “What do I owe the surprise visit to?” She would ask about Lyla in a second. 

Eli was happy to see Emmi’s face answer the door. He returned the soft smile following her in when she invited him. The last time they spoke things had been tense and he hated that, so he was glad that she welcomed him in so easily. “Well, its Dad’s birthday coming up and I am terrible at shopping, so I was hoping you would go with me to pick something out for him? And I was thinking about getting something for Dylan and Kennedy for baby Collette.” He  asked with a hopeful smile. The truth was, he was actually pretty good at shopping for presents for everyone, he just wanted to hang out with her.

“It is a crime, really. You could learn a thing or two outside of fitness from me, Eli.” Jordan smirked putting a little more pressure on Elijah’s back to help him stretch out his muscles before their workout. “What, did you forget you’re a father?” He chuckled and then nodded at his explanation of his daughter. “Sorry, I won’t bring up your kids again while you’re bent over in front of me.” The hand on his back moved slowly upwards before he pulled it away all together and stepped back. “Ten minutes on the treadmill as a warm up, come on.” He winked as he led the other over to their treadmills and hopped on one, turning the speed up to a slow jog. “You never did answer my question, when’s the last time you got any action?”

“Oh could I now? And what kind of things would that be Jordan.” He asked, a smoothness to his voice, even if there was a nervous flutter in his stomach. “No, I didn’t forget I was a father. Its the one thing I have always done right.” He said with a shake of his head. “Only ten minutes? Are you going easy on me?” He said as he started on the treadmill. “Why are you concerned about the last time I got laid Jordan? Are you offering?” He asked, not thinking about what he had just said.

Eli had hardly seen any of his family over the last few weeks. Between everything going on, it just seemed like things were even more spread out than usual. So he decided on a quick lunch time drop in at the Gym, hoping to catch Dylan free. He could guess all the things his brother was dealing with in his mind right now, an unexpected pregnancy with a woman he loved. Not bothering to change out of his scrubs he made the short walk from his office to his brothers Gym, heading straight into the back to his office. He heard him on the phone when he approached and leaned against the door frame waiting for him to finish before he entered. “Damn, I’ve never heard your business voice. You sound like a regular adult.” He teased.

When Lyla decided to go back to school, while it wasn’t unexpected, it left a small empty space in him.  he had been lazing around the house almost ever day. He called it relaxing, his mom called it sulking, so he decided to drop in and see his little sister. He made his way to her place hoping to steal her away from whatever she was doing and get her to just hang out with her big brother. He was going to use their fathers upcoming birthday as an excuse, hoping to get her to go shopping with him just to hang out. He knocked on the door, hoping only she was home, it would just make it easier for him. When the door opened he smiled “Hi.”

Marcos had thought about the few times they had hung out together, the teasing line of should we or should we not? He brushed his tongue along his lower lip as he glanced over towards the strawberries, reaching out to pick up the little basket. “Big fan of strawberries?” He asked as she glanced over towards the other man as he shrugged up his shoulder. “A little. I imagine it’s been pretty busy for you too.” He said as he kept his eyes on Elijah. “I’m doing good, how about you?” Still holding the basket of strawberries in his hand.

Elijah chuckled at his question. “I do happen to enjoy them.” He said nodding his tongue darting across his lips wetting them. “Yeah, a little bit, although I always seem to be busy, so I guess its not much different for me.” He shrugged. “I’m doing ok.” He told him as he glanced at the basket again. “I could use a dose of fun or relaxation or both to be honest.” He told the other man, thinking about everything going on around him as of late.

Things in the Valentine family had been crazy over the last couple of months, but it felt like things were starting to calm down.  So, Elijah decided a stop over at his brothers place, was the thing to do. He grabbed dinner and two six packs of beer. He needed a night with his brother, a night to unwind and not be as responsible for the whole world as he always feels like does. A quick trip home to change  and he was on his way. He sent him a quick text telling him he was on his way, not even sure if his brother would see it before he got there. But he figured he should at least try and tell him before he showed up at his doorstep. A quick knock on the front door and he waited for his brother to answer. It had been awhile and he was pretty sure Niko could use it as much as he could.

 Landon offered the other a smile, “No worries!” He said, “If now I am sure someone would have had a hell of a day shopping if they were dishonest and decided to keep it for themselves.” He chuckled ever so slightly back at him, especially with credit cards that were limitless. He always made sure to keep his own in a safe place for that exact reason. 

“Honestly though, you saved me so many problems.” He said with a smile to the other. “Can I at least buy you a cup of coffee?” He offered the other man. “Its the least I can do.” Sure it was a small gesture, but it was definitely genuine from Elijah and he really did appreciate it.

Dani smiled at him, trying to be friendly. “I got one of them, and just a couple cookies.” She said. “I need a sugar high to get through some of these assignments and lesson plans.” She shrugged, sounding pretty boring.

Eli nodded. “I understand. I’m doing movie marathon tonight with my son, need my own sugar rush after a full week of work to keep me up through however many he is going to want to watch.” He said with a small laugh. “Adriana makes the best pastries in town. So you can never go wrong.” he told her.

Dani was finished with her week, and wanted to get herself a treat before heading back to her apartment. She was already thinking about what her kids should do in class next week, wanting to make it slightly easier since Easter was around the corner, and knew all she would hear from them, was the Easter Bunny was on his way. She ordered a couple of cupcakes from the bakery, and headed back to her car, when held the door open for the next patron. “Happy Friday.” She smiled trying not to be so awkward, as she didn’t do super well with new people, but the nice weather, made her feel good.

Eli was in need of a lot of sugar and caffeine. He had a long night ahead of him and it had been a long day already. He was supposed to be doing a movie marathon with Nathan who was in town for spring break. Coffee he had in his hand already when he started towards Adriana’s shop to pick up some cupcakes to keep them going for the night. The door opened in front of him he smiled as she spoke. “Happy Friday to you. Did you get the special cupcakes for the day?” He asked her as he peered at her box.

Landon was seated on the couch in the back corner of the café with his head buried in a book that his dad had recommended him to read. Ever since he had returned to Asteria only a few short months prior, he had already decided that he needed to start making some changes in his life and how he was living it. He had figured that kicking it all off by reading a book for once and not killing all his bran cells with TV and video games was one way to go about it, but frankly it was a rather boring book. Probably because he had not gotten into it yet. He was sipping off his coffee as he let his eyes glance away from the black and white pages for a second, only to catch a glimpse of a paper falling out of someone’s back pocket, “Sorry!” He shouted, “I think you dropped something.”

Elijah had stopped into the coffee shop that morning needing a lot of caffiene. He had a full day ahead of him in the office and some of his more challenging patients all seem to be coming in that day. He was going to need as much as he could take in. He ordered the latte with the extra espresso and found himself lost in at he was walking out. He heard the person call out and turned around, seeing his wallet on the ground.

“Thanks man. That could have been a start to a really bad day if I lost my wallet.” The doctor said with a smile to the other man.

Marcos loved the days that the flea market was in town especially if it was his day off. There was something about picking everything fresh right from the farmer themselves. He stood in front of a box of tomatoes, holding one in his hand to feel the differences in firmness when he glanced over his shoulder to see a familiar male standing there. “Dr. Valentine,” he smiled at the man. “How are you? I haven’t seen you since February I believe.”

Elijah decided a trip to the outdoor market would do him good. He wasn’t really shopping for anything in particular. He didn’t cook. But he’d pick up some fresh fruit maybe to have around and maybe some flowers for his mom for brunch the next day. He had picked up the tulips and was looking at basket of strawberries when he heard his name, well his formal title anyway. He turned to look and see a small smile on his face. “Ah, officer Reyes. its good to see you.” He nodded. “Yeah its been a while. I imagine you have been pretty busy.” He said with a small nod. “How have you been?”
