The Entertainer is a character who I have put a fair amount of work into. I hope you enjoy him as much as I do!

His screen is dimmed down.The studio is dark, and the cameras and lights are off for once. Joe sits a few feet away from the Entertainer, fiddling with some kind of fidget toy.]

Entertainer, there is a report of an angel falling soon from one of your above contacts. Would you like to report on it?

[The Entertainer's screen goes back to full brightness, and he laughs. The light from his screen reveals that Joe is almost asleep. He seems unconcerned with this new development.]

Cindy, I don't bother with angel reports, you know this!

It's a low-level angel; you would not be at any kind of risk of catching the wrong attention.

The Entertainer and the camera crew slowly all get out of the van, with the Entertainer directing the camera crew where to point their cameras. A director is there as well. After a few minutes, Everything is set up. The director speaks.]

[The Entertainer is in front of a camera with a microphone, although his voice box is loud enough on its own.]

Welcome, dear viewers! Today we are here at the site of where an angel fall will occur shortly! We will attempt to interview the fallen angel, and we'll also be doing call-ins if anyone can guess why the angel has fallen before the interview starts!

Silkie blinked as their peers surrounded them, tilting her head. Though her hair blocked her sight, she knew something was off.. they never came all at once…

The angel chick sits down on the ground, bowing its head to the others around them. They understood, sometimes they needed a scapegoat. As the angelic voices discussed their fate, they took in a deep breath. No matter what, they would serve their purpose.

Before they could process, they felt themself yanked by their halo as the clouds beneath her stopped to support their weight. The air rushing past her head, the cold, cold air. She never wished she could fly, she would have accepted her fate regardless, yet, maybe a rachis or two could have saved them.

[As the falling angel comes into view, the sound of an old phone ring starts happening rapidly. The Entertainer grins at the camera.]

Yes, caller 1?

[The caller's voice is staticky through the call, despite the modern technologies able to prevent it from being so. The voice is decidedly Southern.]

Uh, yes, I think that tha' angel killed someone.

[More calls happen and follow this pattern as the angel falls to the ground; viewers can see Cindy off the edge of the screen noting them all down.]

Wow, that angel is really getting a good speed... My ability to judge distance says that they are about 500 feet off the ground now! 450! 400! 350! They're almost here!

Silkie braced herself, curling into a ball of feathers as they crashed into the field before the camera. The earth bends around them on impact, weeds and dust scattering from the crash.

The angel remained still, not daring to move. It was so cold. Their silky feathers resembled fur more than wings, not keeping in much of the heat generated by their descent. The loud chatter of the broadcast approaching didn’t seem out of the ordinary. She knew what happened to fallen angels eventually.

Ah! It has finally reached the ground! What sin has THIS angel committed to fall so low? Find out after this commercial break!

[The Entertainer gives the camera a million-watt grin (not literally), and as it cuts out, he turns to the fallen angel and approaches until he is a few feet away.]

“I would be honored to answer your questions, but I’m afraid I have not earned a holy name to speak of.”

The fallen angel bows her head, to show her remorse at being unable to fulfill his request.

Uhhh, well, I don't have a holy name either. I'm The Entertainer, and I'm far from holy!

[He laughs, as if at an inside joke with himself. Cindy looks up at him sharply, and his laugh becomes a bit more nervous and apologetic under her gaze. You get the sense that the nervousness is a put-on act for the sake of Cindy,]

“All created creatures who live in glory are holy, gifted a honorable name or otherwise.” The fallen considers for a second, then one more.

“Silkie. That is what it is called when feathers lack structure. That is what I am.”

Well, Silkie, as much as an exposé on the odd practices of angels and their rankings would get amazing rankings, especially since Angel Fall Network would never dare...

I've done a few calculations and I think that this is worth the potential risk to myself! The story and the rankings come first! Silkie, would you like to provide me with more information on these mysterious workings? You'll be, of course, well-compensated for your time and cooperation!
