BLOG #4: Unleash Your Inner Shark Tank: Learn About Demo Day and Pitching! Why are these events crucial for entrepreneurs?

Greetings, we have reached the penultimate lesson/occurrence that this topic has to offer. A business idea is "pitched" to a group of people who can assist make the idea a reality, according to a website. It's a platform for us to introduce our groundbreaking innovations to the world, where we can gain feedback and feedback from investors and customers alike. Any startup's Demo Day is a day filled with excitement and nerves. It's an opportunity for us student entrepreneurs to present our ventures to the business community, as well as to possible investors and clients. It's a chance to hear people's thoughts, create new contacts, and secure financial backing. Today is not just another day; it is the day on which you will be able to look back and see that your efforts were well worth it.

Successfully communicating our business idea at demo day requires a pitch that is not just concise but also easy to comprehend, memorable, and persuasive. It needs to communicate the nature of the issue we're addressing, the size of the potential market, the benefits of working with us, and the expertise of our team. And it needs to deliver all that in a snappy, interesting package. Keep your cool and your mind on the task at hand on demo day. Do not forget that the entire audience is hoping and rooting for our success.

This semester has been a wild ride of learning and growth in this course. There are several life lessons that I learned and will cherish forever. First, Change is the name of the game. Embrace change - the only constant in life! Second, Discover the power of business-- unlock your creativity and innovative mind with Business! Third, Unlock Your Inner Entrepreneur self-- anyone can do it! Unleash your inner entrepreneur and believe in yourself, take risks, and conquer the Business world. A further point is that "Anyone can be an entrepreneur." More faith and trust in ourselves are called for as we venture out into the corporate world and take calculated risks. Fourth, taking calculated risks is necessary..I am the type of person that is afraid of new things and has a hard time taking chances because of this. Greater risk yields greater return, but we must also be cautious and resourceful. Fifth, exude more self-assurance. Entrepreneurs need to be self-assured above everything else. It is the driving force behind all the exciting, novel actions we take. The lesson that will stick with me the most is to never set boundaries for myself. To bring about positive change, we must challenge ourselves to be more creative. It's up to me to be the kind, understanding companion I wish to have. As if Me against Me or Me in favor of Me. Take risk, unleash your inner shark tank and achieve the best version of yourself.

BLOG #3: Knowledge and Courage: The Foundation of a Great Business

It's been a wonderful two weeks, lots of learning and adventure. Last week we put together a series of lectures on the subject of business. The lecture series program is composed of three successful business-highbrows where they share their experiences and knowledge about starting a business, how to manage your business and what are the legal ways to protect your ideas/business.

These are the several things I learned and marked into my brain during the event: (1) Patent search is important to know if your product is already in the market or not, to avoid litigation, and improve your claim; (2) There is no right timing when starting a business. It's all about dedication, good knowledge, faith, and the courage to start a business; (3) It is very useful to join events, symposiums and discussions on business. The new knowledge and experience fuels your curiosity and excitement to engage with a business venture anytime soon. It'll also let you think about a lot of options and the dos and don'ts; and lastly, (4) I was moved by the story Miss Keren, where she tried and had businesses. We can't control everything in our lives, what we can control is our emotions and how we deal with things, and it's important that we learn from our mistakes and never lose the courage to start again. Miss Keren believes in this quote "No Grit, No Glory," and I do agree with it. I'm thinking that a strong sense of courage will lead us to great things. Courage, a belief that we can be the best version of ourselves someday, a will to start and keep moving even when, sometimes, concerns try to knock us down.

BLOG #2: The Startup

The intent of the survey is to evaluate the hypothesis behind the startup's proposed product, Caster, an online hailing service.

The idea is that the product may meet the needs and solve the issue of the respondents who were questioned. There is a potential sizable target market, and the majority of respondents expressed enthusiasm for the concept of the startup business.

Using the five (5) respondents in an interview, the hypothesis was verified a total of six sets of questions were asked, covering the following topics: What do they see? What do they say? What do they do? What do they hear? and What do they think and feel?

The survey results will determine whether or not the business can meet the needs and solve the problems of the respondents. According to the respondents' responses, CASTER will be extremely beneficial in providing them with more convenient transportation. Furthermore, they appreciate how the application will benefit everyone by reducing hassle and increasing security. However, some people are trying to save money as much as possible, given that there will be a convenience fee, it is hard for them to use the application on a regular basis, but given that they are usually in a hurry, this situation makes them appreciate the idea of the CASTER transportation booking application even more.

Furthermore, the instructor advised the team during the business proposal to have a broader scope for a larger market size. Finally, the new business concept, CASTER, was able to meet the majority of the interviewees' demands and problems. A large market may be possible because the majority of them liked and appreciated the concept of this new business plan.

The team came up with two (2) primary options in addressing the concerns encountered:

(1) Modifying the plan and following the instructors' advice, the team will change the startup product to a larger potential target market to accommodate a large number of commuters and, of course, help service providers earn more money by having enough passengers to fill the vehicle.

(2) Change for a better startup. A startup which will be more beneficial and fair for everyone, which also meets the concerns and demands of the target market.

Having an open-mindset is very essential when starting a business.

The team realized that it is necessary for us to have an open-mind with the possibilities and outcomes of each step we make, be more open to critics and comments for us to improve, and to bounce-back and think for a better strategy that will be useful and fair for everyone.

It is always crucial to have adaptable personality, and have backup plans when having a business. This will allow the team to readily overcome any problems that arise. Belief, faith, and effort are also necessary for things to happen.

BLOG #1: The Essence of the Entrepreneurial Mind in Action

One can take a course entitled The Entrepreneurial Mind" while studying at university. This paves the way for more inductive learning, autonomy in decision-making, and straightforward issue solving. Student learners are led by Entrepreneurial Mind to appreciate entrepreneurship for its societal and economic value, as well as for its influence on the growth of essential soft skills and the dissemination of concrete strategies for improving living conditions.

My first interaction with this topic left me with the word "start up," which signifies taking a step or the beginning or first phases of doing or developing something. Being an entrepreneur is not easy; the initial step requires taking a risk. As an entrepreneur, you should be more accepting of the culture of 'good enough,' not be ashamed to seek for assistance, have a spirit of cooperation and teamwork, and be resourceful and accretive.

In the subsequent meetings, we discussed Opportunity Recognition and Ideation. Entrepreneurs are among the most creative individuals on the globe. It is remarkable how a single problem can inspire individuals to think of new solutions and ideas that lead to advancement and innovation. To originate and develop ideas, an entrepreneur must identify a pain point in the target market or an issue, then design a product or service, test the business model- or how to earn money- and investigate how to gain customers. Ventures can be launched to create values for the government, business, or the consumers. And there two type of a business venture, product-centric and service-centric. Providing specific products for a specific use is just one aspect of a product-centric business model, which includes the personal computers products for a customer's personal use, sale of heavy machinery to companies, and the provision of military hardware to governments. On the other hand, services like roof repair, building upkeep, and safety monitoring fall under the purview of the Service-centric model.

What I learned in first sessions of the "The Entrepreneurial Mind" class will stay with me for a long time. Being able to learn inductively, make autonomous decisions, and solve problems head-on is fascinating to me because it reawakens my curiosity, inspires my imagination, and motivates me to make meaningful contributions to the world. The words "change," "progress," "economic growth," "entrepreneur," and "innovation" all come to mind. These are words that are simple to pronounce but tough to put into practice. The reality of launching a new venture is complex, with many unspoken rules and multiple moving parts. You might expect to face challenges, such as rejection and disappointment, but ultimately, the success or failure of your business depends on you. You are free to experiment with and take a risk in a wide range of firms, not just those that generate the most profit. To venture into the business world requires courage, faith, resiliency, and a creative mind, as well as the belief that it will succeed.
