Autistic boys who stim by pacing or flapping their hands or making lots of noise or chewing on things, just stimming in ways that aren’t “aesthetic” like floam and paint mixing, deserve to know that they’re not weird or gross and that their stims should be normalized.

@autism-spectrum-deer and I were having a bit of fun and joking about Autistic animals, and we ended up coming up with enough ideas for a Tag Yourself post, so here it is!

Deer Autistic:

skips a lot instead of walking

tends to flee (leave the room) when overstimulated

introverted and timid

naive and guillable

prefers bland/plain food

loves to tactile stim

50% anxiety 50% passion

Cat Autistic:

stubborn

rigid routines

only a few food issues

likes walking barefoot

more of an ambivert

pressure stimming is their favourite way to stim

20% sass 30% executive dysfunction 50% adorableness

Mouse Autistic:

likely to go non-verbal and panicky when overloaded

always cold

appears physically weak

creative and good at thinking outside the box

really likes food in general

chews on everything

Extroverted, but guarded

Never quite sure what to say

Does not trust many people, if anyone

Prone to lashing out due to fear

Kind of clumsy, but finds ways to compensate

Independent in terms of personality

Likes to eat to stim, but may have strong food aversions

Luna Moth Autistic:

Appreciates aesthetic

Difficulty in demonstrating assertiveness

Often too shy to ask for help

Eats very little

Less introverted than what the surface looks like

More quick to cry than show anger

Cute flappy stim *so cute*

Cicada Autistic:

Auditory stim for days

Magnet for other autistics, usually of the same or a similar type

Likes to hide

Looks intimidating, but is a harmless cinnamon roll

Appreciates good music

Vacillates between sensory seeker and avoider

Thinks bugs are cute
