Gachiakuta characters as the 7 Deadly Sins [THEORY]
WARNINGS: MANGA SPOILERS
WRATH - RUDO
Rudo's wrath stems from a deep sense of helplessness. He grew up watching the people of the Sphere throw food, clothing, and human lives into the abyss as if they were worthless. When he is framed for the murder of his foster father, Regto, that systemic anger becomes deeply personal. His gloves allow him to extract the "soul" and hidden value of discarded items. The irony is perfect: to activate and amplify this power, Rudo must channel pure hatred toward the society that marginalized him. His energy manifests as a violent, black fire that consumes everything.
His character arc is a constant struggle to control this sin. If he lets wrath completely consume him, he becomes a destructive beast; but if he puts it out, he loses the drive and strength to change his reality.
GLUTTONY - AMO
Amo represents gluttony in its most destructive form: relational consumption. After suffering extreme isolation that broke her mind, she developed the belief that the only way to never be alone is to completely "possess" others, devouring their free will. Her boots and abilities allow her to emit a mist or fragrance that alters the brains of those who breathe it, forcing them to love or obey her blindly. It is a metaphor for swallowing another person's individuality to satisfy her own hunger for affection.
Amo operates like a black hole where even now as part of the Cleaners, he only seeks validation and a sense of belonging
GREED - ZODYL
Zodyl believes the world's system is broken because a select few control everything. His response is not justice, but absolute hoarding: if the world belongs to the strong, he plans to be the sole owner of all available power. His obsession is not common wealth, but the artifacts of the Watchman Series. These objects hold unmatched mystical and historical value. Zodyl hunts them with the desperation of an obsessive collector, willing to sacrifice entire armies just to add another piece to his arsenal.
Zodyl manipulates the hopes of the Pit's inhabitants. He promises them freedom, but actually uses them as disposable pawns to accumulate personal resources. To him, people are merely extensions of his property.
SLOTH - FOLLO
In a world as dangerous and fast-paced as the Pit, refusing to act is a death sentence. Here, sloth disguises itself as nihilism, cowardice, or total immobilization. He represents mental laziness. He hides behind his role as a "Supporter" to convince himself he cannot fight. It is the law of least effort: it is easier to accept being useless than to work hard to change.
Fu also fits this description.
In his case, the laziness doesn't stem from physical weakness, but rather from a willful indecisiveness. Fu completely lacks initiative; he prefers to evade any kind of responsibility and patiently wait for direct orders. He's the type of character who prefers to go with the flow rather than strive to forge his own path, a classic psychological trait of apathy.
PRIDE - ZANKA
Zanka built his entire identity on being "the strongest" and "the most disciplined." He fears vulnerability more than death. Admitting a mistake or letting a rookie like Rudo save him is a fatal blow to his mental structure. His staff requires flawless posture and balance. This reflects his need for absolute control over his body and environment. He despises Jinkis that grant "easy" or chaotic power, believing only his hard-earned technique is worthy of respect.
His pride constantly pushes him to the brink of physical collapse. He refuses to retreat from losing battles and rejects medical attention from his fellow Cleaners because he views accepting help as synonymous with personal defeat.
LUST - JABBER
Jabber represents the distortion of desire. He does not seek carnal connection, but rather extreme sensory stimulation through violence. Pain and danger are the only things that make him feel alive, turning combat into a purely hedonistic and addictive act. His weapons are claws coated in agonizing toxins. He takes sadistic joy in watching his enemies break down millimeter by millimeter. Most disturbingly, the pleasure is mutual in his mind: when Rudo or Zanka severely injure him, Jabber laughs and gets excited by the flow of his own blood.
He does not care about Zodyl's grand plans or the fate of the Sphere. He is a slave to his impulses; if a mission does not promise a bloody, adrenaline-pumping fight, he loses interest immediately
ENVY - TAMSY
Tamsy lives in the shadow of others. Despite his lighthearted smile and "big brother" attitude within the Cleaners, he harbors a deep resentment toward the natural talent of other Givers, the trust Enjin inspires, and the pure bonds Rudo forms with the team. Tamsy's envy is silent and venomous. He doesn't destroy for fun (like Jabber) or for power (like Zodyl); he destroys because he cannot stand to see others succeed or be happy in a world he views as miserable. His goal is to drag everyone down into the same bitter pit he lives in.
His role as an infiltrator and saboteur fits this sin perfectly. Envy never attacks from the front; it prefers to poison relationships from the shadows and smile at its victim before stabbing them in the back.
Are the logos featured in the Manga, another Series? [THEORY]
WARNING: None
Based on the popular and solid theory that Rudo Surebrec has that surname because spelled backward it reads Cerberus, and that the Watchman Series logo has three circles (associated with the three heads of the guardian dog of the underworld), the rest of the legendary Jinki series created by the ancestors would follow the same logic:
mythological creatures associated with the protection of borders, the judgment of souls, or guardians of the underworld.
If we expand on the theory that the ancient creators of the Jinki based them on Greek mythological monsters, the Chimera, Hydra, and Medusa would fit as the core of the other legendary series. While Cerberus (the Watchman Series) focuses on guarding the gates of the underworld and blocking the senses, these three creatures would define the nature and powers of the remaining Jinki lines.
My theory is that it may be possible for any givers to create a series themselves. The only reason that it's so hard to do is that maintaining EVERY vital instrument is basically putting your essence into it. And since anima is basically some sort physical thought and emotion form that energizes the tool, it may lead to consequences such as deteriorating one's mind and body.
And since the watchman vital instruments are basically something to fill up a void, It's like a form of it's creator's essence developing inside them as a substitute for what was lost. And if that void and that thing that the current user has lost has been gained back or if they find happiness and satisfaction or if their obsession has been fulfilled (Like rudo getting revenge or zodyl finally taking the sphere), the essence would deteriorate them as well?
Maybe that's why it's anima is so different from the others and similar to the other watchman vital instruments it's because the anima don't belong to the user but belong to the canis himself
The system in the series is similar to the Horcrux system in Harry Potter, where the user (Canis/Tom Riddle) transferred part of his essence to each item.
That essence DOES affect the user who possesses the item. Perhaps the way each Horcrux or Jinki was created is different, but the soul-sharing system is similar.
Your theory makes a lot of sense, and I'd like to explore it in more detail🫶🏻🫶🏻
The way Amo has a distorted concept of "love" makes me think of the events Tamsy had to endure to develop a concept of "love" based on destruction. Did he also go through traumatic events? Is that the reason for his scar?
Lovely Assistaff belonged to Zanka's siblings [THEORY]
WARNINGS: Slight Manga Spoilers
The theory posits that Zanka Nijiku's Staff belonged to his brothers, who lost their "life spark" after placing all their soul and expectations into that object
A Vital Instrument is born when a Giver bestows upon it immense love and care, accumulating "Thought" within it. However, Zanka has always considered himself mediocre and lacking innate talent.
In the Gachiakuta universe, ordinary people have pupils with a normal brightness, while Givers experience flashes of colored light when they activate their powers. Zanka's siblings possess completely dark and opaque eyes.
All fully evolved Jinki bear their user's name engraved in the script of the "Underworld." The engraving on Lovely Assistaff is distorted, blurred, or incomplete, suggesting that the staff doesn't fully recognize Zanka as its sole rightful owner.
The theory states that Zanka's older brothers, obsessed with achieving military perfection within their clan, obsessively channeled all their affection, pride, and ambition into that mancatcher staff to turn it into the ultimate weapon.
By depositing their "Thought" and vital energy in the object in such an extreme way, the brothers suffered absolute spiritual exhaustion, permanently losing the natural brightness of their eyes (the reflection of the soul).
After becoming exhausted or "empty," the weapon was discarded or considered a disappointment for not reacting to its supposed genius, ending up in Zanka's hands.
Zanka, desperately seeking familial recognition, adopted the cane and affectionately named it Lovely Assistaff. By treating it with genuine love and innocence, he managed to activate it, but inherited the heavy residual burden of his siblings' trauma.
This would explain why Zanka constantly struggles with an inferiority complex: he subconsciously feels that the weapon isn't truly his, which is why the letters on his Jinki are "cursed" or illegible. His true awakening (power-up) will occur when he manages to engrave his own name and free himself from his brothers' legacy.
Rubedo is a Latin word meaning "redness" that was adopted by alchemists to define the fourth and final major stage in their magnus opus (to refer to laboratory processes and chemical color changes)
The two alchemical stages preceding rubedo were "nigredo" (blackness", wich represented putrefaction and spiritual death; "albedo" (whitness) wich represented purification.
The rubedo stage entails the attempt of the alchemist to integrate the psychospiritual outcomes of the process into a coherent sense of self before its re-entry to the world. The stage can take some time or years to complete due to the required synthesis and substantiation of insights and experiencies.
The symbols used in alchemical writing and art to represent this red stage can include blood, a phoenix, a rose, a crowned king or a figure wearing red clothes.
In the framework of psychological development these alchemical steps are viewed as analogous to the process of attaining individuation or the process that allows an individual to attain the integration of opposites, their transcendence and finally, emergence out of an undifferentiated unconscious.
Now we all know that enjin is a shortened name. So what if rudo is too? what if rudo is actually RUbeDO?
In the story, there is an intentional correlation between both characters, centered mainly on clothing and physical boundaries:
Amo's Past: Due to the people who controlled her in her childhood, her perception of affection was severely distorted. Additionally, her style of dress is revealing, as she grew up in an environment of isolation and manipulation.
Enjin's Reaction: When Enjin has one of his first conversations with Amo, he feels deeply uncomfortable with how she is dressed (practically in her underwear). In a (clumsy) attempt to keep things under control, Enjin asks Amo to cover up more, arguing that he doesn't know where to look.
The Parallel Irony: For many readers, the parallel and irony lie in the fact that Enjin is a character who openly loves attractive girls and is usually flirtatious. However, when it comes to Amo (a younger girl with a dark past and trauma related to "love"), Enjin feels defensive and uncomfortable seeing her with little clothing, acting in a protective (yet clumsy) manner.
TheY both show some kind of growth from their trauma by marking/piercing their bodies. Both reactions to similar traumas but represented different ways:
Amo has nothing to hide, meanwhile Enjin tries hardly to do it
