Thomas was sprawled out across the living room couch scrolling mindlessly on his laptop. He was waiting for Newt to get home from the store. Whenever Newt wasn’t in his vicinity, it made minutes feel like hours. His head perked up once he heard the door softly screech open.

Newt took his boots off before getting comfortable beside Thomas. “Whatcha doing, love?”

The brunette snuggled into his boyfriend’s side. “Waiting for you to get back.”

Newt nodded at this. “Well, I’m back now.”

Thomas glanced over at the Brit. “Sometimes I can’t believe you’re real. I mean who just files to London and meets the person who’s practically their soulmate on a week-long vacation? Did I make you up?”

Newt absolutely cackled at this. “You’re funny, Tommy. I promise I’m real.” The blonde leaned back further into the couch. “I’m not going anywhere either.”

Thomas felt a kiss on his cheek. “I love you.”

The brunette smiled. “I love you too.”

when Newt got the flare, his hands became ice cold-- and thats why he was gripping Thomas' hand when giving him the letter; he was subconciously comforting himself with Thomas' minimal warmth because its what made him feel human.

the thing with newtmas is that it’s such a flexible ship, it’s crazy. you can put these two idiots in any AU and it’ll fit perfectly. college AU? of course. vampires AU? duh. royalty AU? yes, please.

like- they can be put in every scenario possible as well as in an universe from a different fandom, and i’ll imagine that without a single issue.
