How many people realized that Mary was running through the gallery to come to the painting Separation's aid? When you're in the violet area & you head into the room that houses Separation, the lights will go out, Garry will pull out his lighter, & the room will then be covered in scribbled pleads for mercy, because we all know what dangers a fire starter holds. We've seen what it can do to Mary. & Speak of the devil, here she comes running to see what all the fuss is about when Ib & Garry suddenly come through the door. You can see in her dialogue just how stunned she is, though that's partially thanks to Garry interrupting her. She's got a lot of thoughts running through her head fighting for her attention. One, she's still not entirely sure if Separation is okay. Two, she now knows why it was upset, & where the fire starter came from. Three, there's real human people standing before her. A little girl like her, no less. The third one takes priority, because having visitors means having a way to leave, & having a potential friend! & I'm certain she's always aware that Garry has the lighter on him, because in the Welcome to the World of Guertena ending, she seems to immediately know that Garry's holding on to that lighter, despite it not having been mentioned yet by them outside of that room with Separation. She doesn't check Ib for one, because a little girl her age surely couldn't be any danger, but a big scary adult with a track record for kicking mannequin heads, dolls, & destroying Death of the Individuals? Now that tracks.
