Reblog if you are a very insecure role player.
Deadlock by Soundwaver1984
Perceptor rested his cheek on the table, feeling exhausted. Stryker, however, sat on the table next to his head, warbling as he played with the Cybertronian equivalent of a Rubik’s cube. It was another unsuccessful lesson in speech.
.
Indeed, he already had a bit of a scare with Skychaser. Hm. ”So uhhh, have you met any alternates of yourself?”
"I have met several. They have disappeared, unfortunately, except for one. But I would rather not see him again."
"Heh, well, I suppose I’m safe then." He doesn’t mention that some-mech with the comm tagname of "Stryker" is tracking him. It could get awkward. "Well, as long as it’s worth it. I’m just too young and too wild for kids right now."
Not mentioning that particular mech might be a good idea, as Perceptor hasn't met him yet and would probably freak. "Oh, yes. It is very much worth it. I would not give up Stryker for anything in the multiverse. But I do understand what you are saying."
"…Wait. Stryker?" He blinks and checks something on a small PDA. "…Huh." A brow goes way up. "Heh, well, kids. I dunno if I’ll have any. Don’t think I’m fit for parenthood, among other things."
Perceptor inclined his head a bit, confused. "Yes... Stryker." He folded his hands behind his back. "I never thought I would have any, myself. Having spent some time in the company of carriers and sparklings must have triggered a primal urge to procreate."
If only it weren’t so much fun.
"Hehe, so. What have you been up to lately, hm?"
"I have been trying to teach Stryker how to speak. He has been draining a lot of my energy, what with waking up in the middle of our recharge cycle, making noises and messes. He is too busy!" He smiled, regardless. He adored his sparkling and knew he would miss such moments when Stryker reached adulthood.
"Hey, Perceptor fans are Perceptor fans. I’m sure they’re just too shy to say anything. And don’t want to hear the hammer of Deadlock’s guns either." He gives a sly wink.
Ahhh, stahp it! D:
"Y-Yes, well... I suppose he can be a little, um, protective."
And Perceptor blushed more at the compliment. ”O-Oh dear. I… I, well, ha ha, I get embarrassed easily.”
"Hahah, so Deadlock is pretty and you’re cute. Ouch. You two must be sparkbreakers." He shakes his head with a chuckle. "I feel sorry for all your fans."
Perceptor laughed. "Fans? I think you have me confused with my counterparts, Riou!"
Riou couldn’t help but snicker. ”Heh, well, it happens. Most Autobots I’ve met are alright, but there’s a few gems who are just aftholes to the extreme. So yeah.” A shrug. ”I know whatcha mean.” A smirk. ”You’re cute when you blush like that, first time seeing a robot get warm in the faceplates too.”
And Perceptor blushed more at the compliment. "O-Oh dear. I... I, well, ha ha, I get embarrassed easily."
"Heh, no it’s not bad. Some things just aren’t meant to be. I admit, Deadlock is an interesting person, and quite the looker. I mean, unless you were just totally NOT into that type altogether, I think anyone would find it hard not to be intrigued."
Perceptor blushed hard. "Um... Y-Yes. I see what you mean. He has shown me kindness, where others--even other Autobots--would turn their noses up and avoid me until they want something."
"It does! It’s nice to see that factional differences don’t keep people from being together." A smile and a nod. "Heh, Brainstorm being an aft sounds like him. I think he’s a fan of you though, even if he shows it in the weirdest way."
"Brainstorm and I were actually... I don't want to say an item, but..." He sighed. "We were working things out at the time I met Deadlock. I was just so intrigued by him, that all thoughts of Brainstorm fled my processor. Is that bad?"
"Hm. Alright then, I’ll keep that in mind. So uhh…how did the two of you wind up tying the knot then?"
"O-Oh..." Quite the subject change! "We met in a bar, actually. Before the war. I was looking for a change of scenery (and Brainstorm was being a complete aft). He got me out of some trouble and a few days after, he used my apartment as a hideout. Things happened. He left. The war started and I never saw him again until he crashed on Theophany and contacted me for help. We have been together ever since. I admit we have had a rocky relationship, what with being of opposite factions and different backgrounds. We only recently bonded and had a sparkling. I hope that answers your question."
"Really? Huh, guess Deadlock is different from Drift then. Drift usually likes his appearance being complimented. Not as much as Rodimus or Wing does, but all the same…" Cough. "Anyway yeah. I just noticed him around and decided to harass him a bit."
"Oh, please, please, whatever you do, never compare him to Drift. He... I don't think he likes his counterparts very much, save for one. He can be a little... sensitive about that subject."
"Heh, let me guess, if I tell him his ego will start to inflate? Wouldn’t be the first time. Doesn’t help that I know lalternates and stuff. And uhhh, I apologize for implying the other evening that you’re boring. I just have no brain for the sort of stuff you work on."
"Well, no. Not really. He would probably growl and grumble. And it's quite all right, dear Riou. I have not worked in my lab in... Oh, it's been months since I had anything extensive to work on. I have had my hands full with other, more important things." Not to mention his hesitance in experimenting since his counterpart attacked him.
