Okay, for people arguing the physics of a vampire drinking through hollow fangs, they are supernatural beings, but even if bound by physics, the largest blood feeding leech on earth (H. ghilianii) drinks 15ml of blood in under an hour through a proboscis about as thick as a sewing needle. It's their salivary compounds that thin blood enough to flow freely through such a small channel, and they don't even need to exert suction; the host vascular system pushes the blood up through the proboscis on its own.

So a fang feeding vampire would have two of these mechanisms working at once, and a lot of muscle to exert some actual sucking force. Let's be conservative here and pretend each fang is just twice as efficient as one ghilianii proboscis. Accounting for both fangs that would be 240ml of blood drained per hour, and we know in a lot of lore the same vampire keeps coming back to feed on the same victim nightly.

A human can contain a gallon of blood, or 3,785 ml. Divided by 240, a vampire could drain that much blood over the course of 15 total hours, so if undisturbed, that's one night of feeding for 12 hours before it has to flee the sun, and one more night to finish off the victim.

A gallon of blood is also just the average for an adult weighing 150 pounds, so now we know why vampires are stereotyped as targeting thin, petite, young victims: it's not a creeper thing, they're just easier to exsanguinate in one night.

I believe a vampire's digestive tract probably atrophies, and blood is taken through the fangs into a new specialized system.
