Music Discovery ep.1
I wanted to share something with you all. I’ll probably do it again in the future, I’ll probably talk about my favourite bands or artists, movies, photographers; but today I wanna talk about a voice.
Majke Voss Romme, aka Broken Twin, she was only 25 when in 2014 her debut album, May, was released.
So, today I was listening to one of the bands that I love since I was a kid, Placebo, the Mtv Unplugged album to be specific. Every you Every me started to play, one of my favourite songs in general btw, and Brian Molko introduced her as a guest artist, to perform with them. What my favourite artists like, love, listen, read or watch have always fascinated me, it’s like searching for their background or what inspires them.
So I’ve told myself I will go and listen to some of her works, and I was done for. A punch to my stomach, filled not with rage but with melancholy, tears, love, a warm embrace, that’s what her voice is made of. I could listen to her for days, alone in my room writing and painting, looking out the window on a train journey.
