Here's the final installment! I hope you enjoy it!
So guys, what did you think of my last podcast?
I'm looking for responses to possibly discuss on my next podcast (which is due on May 8th, so it's kind of time sensitive). Anyone want to talk with me? Or, if you prefer not to, you can submit a written response that I can use in my next production. Interested??
Here is Podcast #3, in which I discuss my thoughts about this new National Quidditch team. DON'T LYNCH ME. I'm just trying to be honest. And, as always, trying to understand. Responses are encouraged!
Seems like everyone’s getting in on this, so I might as well throw in some names. It’s going to be pretty heavily weighted northeast, since those are the teams I’ve seen and played with. I’m sure there are deserving Southies and Westies I’m missing, but this is from my personal...
Quinksy's coming out.
I’ve decided it’s time. An increasing number of people have been figuring out my identity, especially since I created the Quinksy facebook. And enough people that I’ve decided that before the Quidditch community outs me, I want to be the one to announce my identity. I prefer to out myself rather than be trapped and revealed against my will by those who have found me out. For those prefer the mystery, do not click “Read More.”
This has been incredibly fun, everyone. Really. I’ve loved being the (original!) mystery quidditch blogger for the past 11 months. I never expected my anonymity would rouse so much interest like the Who’s Quinksy facebook group and even a segment on Off The Pitch And On The Air… You all are beyond amazing. And this has been a huge bit of fun for me and my few friends who were aware of my identity all along. I’ve loved getting to know you all in a way that I wouldn’t if I had never been anonymous.
I know a lot of you love the mystery and actually never want to know. So, for those people, I apologize, but you know as well as I did that the time had to come eventually. If you’re an active member of the Quidmunity, you will undoubtedly find out my identity even if you don’t read past the spoiler marker of this post, but I hope for your enjoyment of the mystery that it takes a while to get to you. But I have a feeling this will cause a bit of a stir…
To those who have known my identity for a while now, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for keeping it a secret. It’s made it so much more worth while and I thank you for respecting my wishes to remain anonymous. But you may now officially brag to everyone how you knew all along (or for however long). ;) To those who legitimately went through the detective work of finding my identity and then contacted me with their proof - well done. You saw through all my red herrings and sarcasm/jokes I’ve thrown at you (to everyone else: You’ll understand when you click Read More) and were able to put the real pieces together.
I will of course continue blogging. Nothing will change. On Tumblr I still hope you will all refer to me as Quinksy, just for old time’s sake. And in real life, well, that’s up to you. I won’t mind either way.
So there you go. My beautiful, beautiful followers, it’s been a great ride. Think of this not as the end, but as the beginning of the next great adventure.
I, Quinksy, am in reality…

HOLY CRAP. Must. Podcast.
Podcast #2 is finished!
Here you are, Quidditch fanatics: the second podcast in the series. Qui quope quou quenjoy quit! (That doesn’t work so well…)
Jeje always lovely to hear my teammates on the air, thanks for speaking, Gianna : D (Who amusingly enough, will probably end up filling my role on the team as the artsy one once I graduate). (Woah let us never talk about graduation that was a creepy thought).
Since Gianna didn’t remember the origin of Quocabulary, let me regale you with a story.
Sometime in 2009, after a belligerent, loud, ecstatic (aka normal) practice with the Broooers, then Captain Davy asked us if we wanted to go get dinner together. We all agreed, and the tradition of team dinner was born. But then, Davy, through a convoluted and unapproachable thought process that probably has something to do with his natural way of words and the fact that he beats us at bananagrams each time we’ve played them at a Quarty, coined the term “Quinner”.
Of course, the second word to be quidditchizized, since we are Vassar and semi-hippie liberal arts school (but not an Art school I’m doing Biology for goodness sake, I could have gone to Bard if I wanted an Arts school) was Quove. We started speaking like this constantly, other teams caught it, and since 2009, we have seen everybody adopt it thanks to our gleeful usage during tournaments, facebook chats with other teams, and tumblr.
An addendum: quidisms sometimes involve, not just a “qu” at the beginning of a word, especially if it ends up sounding awkward, but also “quid”, such as a “quidkid”, or the alternate of quincest, “quidcest”, etc.
Cheers to everybody and thanks again to the-magic-never-ends!! Quove and quggles!
The ever-knowledgeable broooer, everyone! Thanks for your words of wisdom! Maybe I’ll have to interview you next time… :)

A Quaffle is a ball used in the wizarding game of Quidditch. It is a twelve inches in diameter, red, leather-covered ball used as the main object of play. The three Chasers carry and pass the Quaffle to their opponent’s goal hoops, where they try to score points by throwing it through one of the three rings. Each time it passes through the hoops, the scoring team gains ten points.
According to the entries in Gertie Keddle’s diary, the Quaffle was the first ball used in the early form of Quidditch played at Queerditch Marsh. Originally, the ball was not enchanted, and made of patched leather with a strap attached to it to allow players to throw and catch it one handed. Some Quaffles had finger holes instead of the strap.
In 1711, the Quaffle was changed to its current scarlet colour, after a match played in heavy rain made it indistinguishable from the muddy ground. Shortly after, the witch Daisy Pennifold came up with the idea of enchanting the Quaffle so that it dropped to the ground slower than normal. Chasers were complaining of having to dive to the ground to retrieve a dropped ball, and the new enchantment gave the Chasers time to retrieve the ball while still in the air. The ball became known as the Pennifold Quaffle, a term that is still used today.
In 1875, Gripping Charms were discovered, allowing the players to hold onto the Quaffle without using a strap or finger holes.
That’s what’s up.
