Episode 33 HSL- Serendipity
N/A : Yes, this request is from two years ago. Yes, I disappeared. But also yes, I'm back to serve again. Not headcanons but a whole scene (I just felt inspired to finish this as it was in my drafts for literally ages, hope you don't mind love !)
The hide-and-seek game had been a complete mess—just as expected—but undeniably fun. Even those who were reluctant at first ended up enjoying it. Now, the group had settled in the living room, where the scent of freshly baked pizza lingered in the air. Laughter and chatter filled the space as Iris set up the table.
Armin was the first to grab a slice, taking a big bite before his eyes widened in surprise.
"Damn, you guys really nailed this !" he exclaimed, clearly impressed.
Nathaniel chuckled beside him while Iris beamed proudly. Still, there was something off about her smile. Candy noticed but didn’t dwell on it—especially after what happened in Iris’s room earlier. No need to revisit that. Lysander sat quietly, as usual, observing rather than actively engaging. Castiel and Priya tried to pull him into their conversation, but he was perfectly content just watching everything unfold.
The pizza disappeared quickly, as did the drinks. As Nathaniel refilled his glass of punch, Melody’s voice cut through the room.
"Nathaniel, I think you should be careful…"
He sighed, his patience thinning. "Please, Melody. You’re not my mother."
Castiel smirked, barely containing his laughter. Melody pursed her lips, clearly offended. Priya, lightly smacked Castiel’s arm.
"You’re insufferable."
"Thank you." He shot back with a grin.
Meanwhile, Alexy and Rosalya had Kentin cornered.
"You need to come shopping with us." Rosalya insisted.
"There is nothing wrong with my clothes! Quit it already!" Kentin huffed.
"There’s everything wrong with your clothes," Rosa deadpanned.
Alexy nodded dramatically. "You look like you stepped straight out of a ‘Join the Force Now!’ ad." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Which is... not ideal. You’re lucky you’re cute."
Kentin turned red. "Ohhh, look at him blushing!" Rosa teased.
"Guys, drop it. Seriously." Kentin muttered, embarrassed.
Armin, from across the room, grinned. "Yeah, leave him alone, Alex, or we’ll put you in time-out."
Alexy gasped in mock betrayal. "Oh, look at that! My own blood turning against me!"
The group burst into laughter. As the noise died down, Iris turned to Priya.
"So… what game did you pick for the rest of the night?"
Priya took a slow sip of her drink, letting the suspense build before smirking.
"How about… Truth or Dare?"
Castiel snorted. "Geez, Miss Ninja, didn’t expect you to be that predictable."
Nathaniel frowned. "Are we sure this is a good idea?"
"I agree with Nathaniel!" Melody chimed in almost instantly. "We should pick something else."
Nathaniel sighed. "That’s… not what I said."
Melody’s expression faltered as she lowered her head awkwardly.
Armin threw an arm around Nathaniel’s shoulders. "C’mon, man, don’t be scared. We’ll totally go easy on you, right, guys?"
"Yeah, totally." Castiel said, grinning wickedly.
Nathaniel pinched the bridge of his nose. "Of course you will."
The laughter picked up again. Then, to everyone’s surprise, a soft voice cut through the noise.
"I think it’s a good idea."
Violette’s face flushed under the sudden attention, but she kept going. "It’s… a good way to get to know each other better, right?"
Candy smiled. "You’re absolutely right, Violette. It’ll be fun !"
"See? Even Violette’s in. It’s settled, then!" Alexy declared. "Let’s set up the game!"
After quickly tidying up the living room, they moved toward the patio, ready for whatever chaos was about to unfold.
The group settled on the patio, sitting on the floor, forming a loose circle as the night air buzzed with anticipation. Someone—probably Alexy—had grabbed an empty bottle from the table, placing it at the center.
"Alright, folks, rules are simple," Priya announced, leaning back on her hands. "Spin the bottle. If it lands on you, you pick truth or dare. No backing out."
"I’m still not sure about this…" Nathaniel muttered, arms crossed.
"And yet, here you are." Castiel shot back with a smirk.
Nathaniel rolled his eyes, but before he could retort, Alexy clapped his hands. "Let the real party begin!" He spun the bottle with a dramatic mouvement.
It slowed… wobbled… then landed on Kentin.
"Oh, hell no." Kentin muttered.
"Oh, hell yes!" Alexy grinned. "Truth or dare?"
Kentin hesitated, glancing around like a cornered animal. Castiel was already watching him with a smug expression.
"…Truth." he finally said, crossing his arms.
Alexy tapped his chin. "Hmm. What’s something you used to hate but secretly like now?"
Kentin exhaled, relieved. "Oh. That’s not bad. Uh…" He hesitated. "I guess… shopping?"
Rosalya straighten up in second. "I knew it!"
"No, no, no, don’t get any ideas! It’s just… kinda nice to pick out stuff that actually fits, okay?" He shot a look at Castiel, who was smirking. "Don’t say a word."
"I didn’t say anything," Castiel said, amused. "You do you."
Kentin spun the bottle quickly to move on. It landed on Lysander. He blinked, unbothered. "Truth."
Priya tilted her head, studying him. "What’s a dream you’ve never told anyone about?"
Lysander considered this for a moment, his fingers resting against his chin. "I’ve always thought it would be interesting to live somewhere remote. In the country, maybe. Somewhere quiet, with no distractions. Just time to write."
There was a pause before Rosalya gasped dramatically. "Really ? I thought you didn’t like the country ?"
Lysander chuckled and shrugged. "I don’t dislike it. It’s just… I like the calm."
Rosalya nodded, not expecting that while Castiel shot him a curious look, his brow furrowing. The game continued, the bottle spinning, laughter echoing into the night.
Then it landed on Nathaniel.
Everyone turned to him expectantly.
"…Dare." he said, cautiously.
Armin’s eyes lit up with mischief. "I dare you to take off a piece of clothing."
Nathaniel stiffened. "Are you serious?"
The group immediately started cheering and whistling. "Rules are rules, Nath." Priya grinned.
"Calm down, you can take off a sock." Castiel mocked.
"What makes you think I’m not calm ?" He plainly answered.
Without even a moment of hesitation, Nathaniel reached for the hem of his shirt with an uncharacteristic smirk, pulling it off in one smooth motion.
There was a beat of silence.
"Ooooh, look at Mr Perfect over here!" Alexy teased, raising an eyebrow.
Rosalya smirked. "Not bad, Nathaniel."
Candy couldn’t help but look, even though she turned down her gaze quickly before anyone noticed.
Melody, however, was frozen. Her eyes locked on Nathaniel’s bare torso like she had just witnessed some divine revelation.
Armin noticed immediately. His lips curled into a grin as he leaned toward her. "Melody, you okay there?"
Melody blinked rapidly, snapping out of it. "What?! Yes! I mean—I wasn’t—um—"
Armin snorted. "You’re basically drooling on the table."
Melody shrieked. "I AM NOT—"
The entire group howled with laughter as Melody buried her face in her hands, calling Armin an idiot.
Nathaniel, meanwhile, just sighed, grabbing his shirt back. "Can we move on now? Oh, and can I put it back or am I supposed to stay half naked for the rest of the game ?"
Alexy and Armin snorted in sync. "Ohhh, look at him he’s asking for permission !"
"You guys are hilarious." Nathaniel said, deadpan. He put back his shirt in a swift motion. he couldn’t help but notice Melody, who was trying her best to avoid looking at him. Good. He spun the bottle one more time. It landed on Castiel.
"Oh, this is too easy," Rosalya said, rubbing his chin. "I dare you to go five minutes without insulting anyone."
Castiel looked personally offended.
"You can’t be serious," he scoffed.
"Oh, I’m very serious," Rosalya grinned. "Five minutes. No insults."
The entire group turned to Castiel expectantly.
For the first thirty seconds, everything was fine.
Then Kentin grinned. "So, Castiel, what do you think of Nathaniel’s new style?"
Castiel twitched. His jaw clenched. Everyone held their breath.
"…It’s fine," he gritted out.
"Ohhh, you are struggling," Rosalya teased.
"I mean, it’s still better than the whole emo boy outf—" Alexy added.
The group howled with laughter. Nathaniel smirked. "That lasted one minute."
Castiel groaned. "That was a dumb dare anyway."
The bottle spun again, the game in full swing now. But as laughter filled the patio, Iris’s phone buzzed again. She glanced down at the screen, her smile faltering slightly before she quickly turned it face-down.
Candy, sitting beside her, noticed the change in her expression. Something about it felt… off. Since the beginning of the evening, she was glued on her phone and whoever was texting her seemed to really want to catch her attention. But before she could say anything, Alexy groaned.
"Iris ! We’re playing! Phone. Away." He reached over playfully as if to take it from her.
Iris let out a small awkward laugh, rolling her eyes. "Fine, fine!" With a quick motion, she turned it off and set it aside.
"Much better," Alexy declared, satisfied. "Now, back to the game."
The bottle spun, slowing until it landed on Priya.
She smirked, crossing her arms. "Dare."
"Ooooh, bold," Armin grinned. "Alright, let’s see… I dare you to kiss the next person the bottle lands on. »
Violette looked at him, surprised. She probably didn’t expect the game to take such a turn.
Priya raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "That’s it?"
"Hey, I could’ve been way worse," Armin defended. "Just wait until you see who it is."
With that, she spun the bottle. The group leaned in, watching as it slowed… and stopped on Iris. A brief silence weighted on the patio.
Iris froze, her cheeks immediately turning pink. "O-Oh."
"Oh, this just got interesting," Castiel grinned.
Alexy and Rosalya gasped dramatically, exchanging delighted looks, while Candy had to bite back a laugh at Iris’s stunned expression. Armin looked way too pleased with himself and shot a look at Nathaniel who was smirking.
Lysander, Violette, and Kentin, meanwhile, looked a little unsure how to react and Melody looked downright scandalised.
Priya, completely unbothered, turned to Iris with an easy smile. "So, what do you say?"
Iris swallowed, fidgeting. The attention on her was a lot, but… backing down wasn’t really an option. She took a breath. "A dare’s a dare, right?"
The group let out a mix of cheers and nervous laughter. With a small, nervous laugh of her own, Iris leaned in. The kiss was quick— yet Priya kissed her with as much delicacy as sensuality—but by the time she pulled away, Iris entire face was red.
"That wasn’t so bad, was it?" Priya teased, winking.
Iris covered her face. « Haha, no... You're, um, a good kisser.»
"Thanks, Iris." Priya answered with a smile. She did not seem flustered at all.
" Are we interrupting ? Should we leave the room ?" Alexy teased.
"Stop it !" Iris hurriedly spun the bottle, trying to escape the moment as the game continued.
Candy couldn’t help but smile. The bottle spun, twirling rapidly before slowing to a stop—Armin. A wicked grin spread across everyone’s faces. Armin immediately raised his hands in surrender. "Okay, hold on. Let’s not get carried away—"
"Ohhh no, no, no," Rosalya cut in, crossing her arms. "You’ve been a menace this whole game, it’s only fair we return the favour."
Armin groaned. "I regret nothing."
Nathaniel, grinned at his friend, cracking his knuckles. "Alright, dare or dare?"
"That’s not how this works,"Armin deadpanned.
"Dare it is then," Priya grinned. "And we dare you… to do a dramatic love confession to the person on your right."
Armin glanced to his right and—
"No way," Alexy gasped between chuckles. "This is good."
Violette’s face instantly turned a deep shade of red, and her hands shot up defensively. "Wait—no, that’s not—"
"Too late," Castiel said, enjoying every second.
Armin, completely undeterred, took a deep breath. He straightened himself up like he was about to deliver a Shakespearean soliloquy. Then, with an exaggerated flair, he placed one hand over his heart and held Violette’s hand dramatically with the other.
"Violette," he began, voice trembling with mock emotion. "From the very first moment our eyes met, I knew… I knew that this—this connection was unlike anything I had ever felt before."
Violette’s face was so red now, it could’ve been mistaken for a tomato. "Um. Armin you’re not -"
"No!" Armin dramatically cut her off, ignoring her protest. "The way your voice shimmers like a melody, the way you blush at the smallest compliment, the way your kindness is as gentle as a breeze on a spring day..."
Violette was definitely about to explode with embarrassment, hands fidgeting in her lap. "Stop it, Armin, you’re making it worse—"
"I can’t stop, Violette," Armin continued, going full tirade now. "I am compelled to speak my truth. You are the sun to my moon, the coffee to my morning, the—"
"Armin!" Priya finally cut him off, her breath short from laughing. "This is too much!"
But Armin wasn’t stopping. He dropped to one knee in front of her, completely committed. "Violette, I cannot live another day without telling you—will you—"
The room was losing it. Alexy was wiping away tears from laughing so hard. Rosalya was clapping in approval. Castiel had his head buried in his hands, laughing at the pure chaos unfolding. Even Nathaniel was loosing it.
Armin finally leaned in closer, eyes wide with fake sincerity. "Violette, I’m not asking for your hand in marriage yet… but would you, perhaps, grace me with your affection and—"
Violette, horrified and panicking, quickly took her hand off his while Alexy grabbed a pillow from the couch and shoved it right into Armin’s face. "Leave her alone now !"
Armin yelped in surprise, falling backward onto the floor, still laughing. "Worth it," he said between gasps of air.
The rest of the group was howling with laughter, even Violette, despite her face being nearly as red as Castiel's hair.
"I’m so sorry." Armin dramatically apologised to her, laughing.
"Yeah, we all are," Alexy quipped, still laughing.
Armin sat up, still grinning like the troublemaker he was. "Alright, alright. I’m done… for now."
Candy was laughing too, shaking her head. "That was definitely one of the best ones yet."
The bottle was spun again, and everyone’s attention shifted, but one thing was clear: no one would never hear the end of this party yet.
Hey, so... How are you guys doing ? It's been a bit longer than expected since I posted but we're back... I guess ? I came back from the dead (and I am not even exaggerating that's exactly how it feels like). I'll reopen the requests soon, we need to keep fandom alive because I go for only hihi two years and I come back to see that New Gen is a fcking mess. And that makes me nostalgic of when MCL was actually pure vibes...
Hope you like this little self-indulging scene from episode 33 and I hope that you're satisfied with this Anon (if you're still here after all this time, big up to you darling)
