In other news, where the hell did the Dust Bunny hype go? I spent years waiting for the film to come out and it feels like the fandom totally dispersed just as it was coming out.
It's so gorgeous and super unique! I was really nervous it would be like Pan's Labyrinth in terms of being so horrifying and disturbing that it's hard to watch without feeling nauseous, but... no. It was a children's film. A damn good children's film, I might add. Reminded me a lot of Coraline.
I just finally watched it, since I didn't get to see it in cinemas and oh.
oH. It's so good. I can barely contain the love I feel for it because it's so wonderful. Whimsy and funny and scary in this- particular way of feeling like you're a child. Beautiful colourful serious but relaxed and just- I.
Bryan remembers how it was as a child with huge imagination and he USED it.
Also finally a movie that uses other colours than grey and blue. And treats kids seriously while remembering they are children
Couldn't have put it better myself
