Family: *has company over*
Me, in another room: *screams*
Company: Oh my God, is your daughter okay, was that her screaming?
Family:
Family: …she’s reading.
She was a criminal - a prodigy at killing, a Queen of the Underworld - and yet… yet she was just a girl, sent at seventeen to Endovier.
Me remembering Aelin was only 17 in Endovier:
I’ve seen a lot of Harry Potter headcanons saying how Minerva left because of James Sirius but imho she wouldn’t have succumbed to that. She left because she had a job on some high govt thing open up.
But most importantly it came time to choose her successor and she looked at all of the teachers and thought about dumbledore and handed the title to Rubeus Hageid with a warm smile while he stood there shocked, tears in his eyes. She handed Hogwarts to the one person ready to protect the students.
Say what you will about why Minerva left so soon, but her successor was without a doubt Hagrid.
Brb crying
I can envision that moment when Harry brings his kids to Hogwarts
He steps through the doors and it all comes rushing back; the laughing and games, the tears and… Yes, the death. He watches them be herded off by a teacher into the Great Hall to be sorted and fights the urge to follow them and pigeonhole them each into a seat, knowing it’s a special privilege that he as a parent was even allowed to bring them. He flinches and looks down: a cat rubs up against his legs and purrs, winding around his shoes in a familiar, authoritative way. “I know, but maybe I should just-” he takes a step, struggles to breathe. His lungs are tight and he is suddenly feeling as if he may never see them again. “No, dear.” A hand on his shoulder stops him, a familiar touch. “Come now, don’t you think after all you went through, all we fought for, that they won’t be able to look after themselves? You did, and you had no one. They have each other, and really as long as Professor Weasely doesn’t teach them anything they should be alright.” Harry chuckles a bit and turns. “Minerva!” It took him so long to stop calling her Professor McGonagall, and now the name is used with concern and a little shock. “You’ve… Aged…” “Yes dear. Even us wizards must, sometime.” Harry trembles a little. He is beginning to absorb the reality of this. He is no longer a child, and his headmaster is beginning to show signs of weariness. Times have changed. What if… “Please don’t let…” He cannot finish, but she knows. “Oh my dear boy. Hogwarts has not changed all that much. If anything ever happened, the students would know exactly what to do. And if you think that I would let anyone touch a hair on the heads of any of them, you are sorely mistaken. A little snow on the roof doesn’t put out the fire in the furnace.” She stops for a breath, quivering a bit with the effort, but stays tall. Harry turns to look one last time and finds the doors of the Great Hall closed. “Thank you, my old friend. They’ll be alright. And if anything should happen…” Minerva suddenly stands even taller and taps her cane on the floor once, softly. “Then we will do what we have always done, Harry. We will fight. And then, we will win.”
I can’t believe that this is stop-motion.
I CAN’T UNDERSTAND FUCKING STOP-MOTION THOSE FINGERS SHOULD FALL RIGHT OFF BUT NO THEY SUPPORT THEMSELVES BEAUTIFULLY
WHAT THE ACTUALLY FUCK STOP MOTION
The fingers are being supported by armature wire. Virtually all stop motion puppets have some variety of this going on underneath it:
Given the proportions of Burton’s creations, the armatures underneath his puppets are probably custom-made.
What you’re also looking at is a ton of replacement animation on that teddy bear. Instead of actually tearing open the bear model, someone, or a few people, carefully crafted a handful of that specific bear at various stages of being cut open. If you look closely, the slab it’s on moves slightly, which gives itself away.
Also, Jack’s speaking is done through replacement animation.
Stop motion utterly fascinates me.
GOD BLESS YOU
THIS IS THE THING I DONT GET ABOUT STOP MOTION
YOU HAVE TO PHYSICALLY MOVE THE DOLLS WITH UR HANDS AND REPLACE THEIR FACES //HOW DO YOU KEEP THEM IN THE SAME SPOT??????//
stop motion people are crazy
If someone called me pretty, I’d sneer and smear more glitter on my face. I didn’t want to be just pretty — I was wild, crazy and free. I talked about sex, about drinking. When men do that, it’s rock and roll, but when I did it, people assumed I was a train wreck. I played confident but still felt like an outcast.

Kesha is Very Important to me
(via synecdoche)
It all started out so perfect. I had it all; everything I ever wanted. Finally, I wasn’t on the outside. We stood as sisters, no judgement but complete support. There were no politics, no fear that a sentence said thoughtlessly would leave you ousted. I gave my complete trust, never believing that it would all become so corrupt. The whole thing seemed like something out of someone else’s life. I was finally happy, I was finally free. Is this the price to pay for friendship? Sacrifice freedom, sacrifice individuality, opinion, and sense of self? Blind obedience for sisters. Never disagreeing, never straying from the pack mentality, always doing what I am told. Is it worth it? Is it better to fly alone, or to be in a cage with others?
According to the song Seasons of Love from RENT, there are 525,600 minutes a year.
One line later, there are “525,000 Moments so dear”.
So, doing the math, we can glean that there are 600 moments which aren’t so dear.
And I think I just used one of them by walking in on my boss who forgot to lock the bathroom stall.
You know those rooms in the hospitals with the glass windows where all the babies are kept? And there’s like a lot of babies in there? I wonder where all the babies I was in there with are today. All the other little babies who were born in the same hospital on the same day. I’d like to meet them
I’d like to fight every last one of them
When I was in there one of the other babies peed on me and then later we ended up at the same summer camps and our moms tried to make us date because he peed on me when I was like 3 hours old
you know tumblrs not an a+ community when you hesitate to post your own opinions on your own personal blog
maybe if ur hesitating to post things because you don’t want people to get mad at your opinions, you have shitty opinions and u know it
that is literally an example of op’s point
Maybe people hesitate to post things because their opinions might lead them to get anon death threats….
Feminists are disgusting people who keep looking for reasons that they aren't successful instead of accepting their own flaws. Stop blaming society and take a little responsibility you winey b*tch.
So let’s have a little chat, shall we?
You are literally saying that the oppression of 50% of the world’s population is irrelevant. That the gap in pay, that the objectification of women, that sexual harassment, that the lack of reproduction rights are irrelevant, and that this suffering group of people- WOMEN- are just “whiny little bitches”.
That the wonderful women who were the forerunners of woman’s rights at the Seneca Falls Convention (Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton) were whiny little bitches because they advocated that married women have the right to own property and keep their own wages. Who believed that men should be part of feminism because feminism is not about female superiority, but rather gender equality. Who spoke out, as one oppressed group to another, on the abolition of slavery. Who came together as proponents of women’s suffrage, because they believed women should have the right to vote (as slaves got the right to vote 80 years before women did).
That the woman who worked during world war 2 were whiny little bitches because they left there homes and took up the jobs vacated by the soldiers fighting in the war so that the American economy did not suffer during the absence of the working class.
That Betty Friedan, author of the feminist classic, The Feminine Mystique, was a whiny little bitch because she spoke out about the fact that in the 1950s and 60s women had 3 times the rate of clinical depression as men. That psychologists in that time were totally ignoring the lack of fulfillment and purpose afflicting the women of our nation. That they were simply calling this depression “housewives fatigue” stating that these wives and mothers were simply tired after a day of wifely duties; until one physician realized that most “housewives fatigue” sufferers were getting more than enough sleep, often too much sleep.
That the founders of the National Organization of Women (N.O.W.) were whiny little bitches because they realized that Equal Employment Opportunity Commissions were not enforcing the sex-discrimination clause of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and chose to take action. That they understood that the liberation that they were working toward is naught but a loosening of attitudes and a determination to be open minded, which applies to all groups, not just women.
That the victims of gender based oppression were whiny little bitches because oppression is a “personal problem” and that apparently the oppressors are faultless.
That the women who fight for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) are whiny little bitches because they believe that men and women should have the same salary for doing the same job.
That the women who fight against the objectification of women in the media are whiny little bitches because they believe that women should be portrayed as more than sex objects.
That those women who fought for the Equal Pay Act of 1963 are whiny little bitches because they fought to pass an amendment to the United States Code saying that employers cannot discriminate on the basis of sex.
That the women who fought for sexual freedom of women were whiny little bitches because they refused to believe Sigmund Freud’s theory that lacking a penis women are incomplete beings who rely on men to feel complete.
That the women who fought to abolish ideas that females who enjoy sex are sluts are whiny little bitches because they refuse to accept the double standard between the genders.
That the women who fought for the right to use contraceptives are whiny little bitches because they are so audacious to believe that they should have control over their own reproductive rights.
That the women who fought for the legality of clinical abortions were whiny little bitches because they believe that legal abortion is a better option than desperate women getting unsanitary, unsafe illegal abortions because they don’t have the option for a safe and legal abortion.
That the women who fought against marital rape are whiny little bitches because they do not believe that just because you are married it does not give a man the right to sexually assault you under the guise of husbands having “certain rights” to your body.
So yeah. You’re right. Feminists are just whiny little bitches who can’t accept their own flaws and instead blame them on society. Clearly the hundreds of years of gender based oppression are lies. I feel sorry for your ignorance, and honestly I feel sorry for you that you are so cowardly that you have to send anonymous hate.
The next time you decide to attack feminism think about your mother, your sisters, your aunts, grandmother, female teachers, bosses, friends and mentors who have benefited immeasurably from the women’s rights movements that have came from feminists. These women in your life can vote, own property, use contraceptives, cannot be discriminated against by employers based on gender, can work outside the house, and cannot be raped by their husbands.
Feminism is not the problem. Your attitude is.
