It kinda blows my mind just how meta Supernatural actually is. This show ended weeks ago and yet there is probably more activity and new content daily now than there was whilst it was still alive.
After years of telling us nothing stays dead on Supernatural, perhaps we should have known that that statement would include the show itself.
The show that just won't die.
Maybe they really didn't intend to write Dean and Cas like that. Maybe the constant parallels between them & other romantic pairings was accidental. Hell, maybe cockles was truly to be blamed for Cas & Dean's mad chemistry, maybe it ALL was a coincidence but in the end, it was a conscious choice not to run with it, at least not full on, and that's what bugs me.
And before you say that writers should be allowed to write their story how they see fit, let me tell you that you are absolutely right.
But the simple truth is that sometimes stories outgrow their writers and you can either let it or you can be selfish about it and deny it it's full potential.
Personally my favourite example for this is Maxanne from Black Sails.
Black Sails writers never intended to have these two romantically involved, yet, as they looked at season 1 and sat down to write the 2nd season, they saw getting together was the next logical step for these two characters. They recognized the potential and they ran with it and let it blossom into one of the most complex & beautiful wlw relationships in media even if it meant that in doing so the original stories writers intended for these characters were being altered.
People have this idea of writing being a very rigid thing but I'm telling you it's not.
It's just that writers are people too and they sometimes become selfish and defensive of their creation, much like an entitled parent.
So when writers say they are "staying true to the character" they aren't, they are staying true to the idea of character they had at the beginning of the story and fail to recognize that this character now couldn't be further from the version in their first draft and sadly, I can hardly think of a better example for this than Dean Winchester.

I know these days everything feels like a massive step back. I know these days it feels like you canât reach out, like youâre not allowed to, because everyone is alone. I know it feels like you can only work, and rage, and fear, and cry your stress out all by yourself. But I think about you. I feel for you. I love you. Youâre in my heart. And soon, when this is all over, you will be in my arms too. - A happy belated birthday to my very dear friend @causeimanartist, and a lot of love and thought for you all, guys. Stay safe, and remember youâre loved. â„

#alfred raised him right
Bruce âraised by a butlerâ Wayne knows how to treat everyone no matter their social position with respect.
Can you imagine his outrage and anger at watching how everyone treats the only family he has left? Alfred was his entire world until Dick showed up. And people saw the man that raised him in the same way they noticed a lamp. He swears to himself to never be like them.
So Bruce knows all the janitors names, he pulled strings for his garbage man Donnyâs daughter to get into a better school, he thanks waitstaff with the utmost sincerity, he makes genuine conversation with anyone he can so that they know they are seen, he tips graciously and leaves his card with those stuck in a rut with the skills to be more.
Batman fights crime but Bruce Wayne fights apathy.
Clark came out to have a good time and heâs honestly feeling so attacked right now

There are a couple of things about current shipping culture that confuse me. Â
1. The focus on whether or not a pairing will become canon as a reason people should ship something or not.  Do you not understand what the âtransformativeâ part of âtransformative worksâ means?â
2. This idea that saying âI ship thatâ means âI think that, as presented in canon, this is a perfect, healthy relationship that everyone should model their relationship after.âÂ
Sometimes shipping something does mean that.  Sometimes shipping something means âPerson A is a trash bag who doesnât deserve person B but I would love to explore how Person A might grow to deserve Person B.â Sometimes it means âI want these characters to live together forever in a conflict free domestic AU.â  Sometimes it means âI want Person A to forever pine after Person B.  Nothing is beautiful and everything hurts.â  And sometimes it just means you like their faces and want to see Person A and Person B bone in various configurations and universes.Â
Listen to your parents, kids.
This really should be one of a handful of Public Service Announcements randomly and chronically inserted into oneâs dash.
Hell man sometimes it means âthese two are TERRIBLE and I want to watch them burn like a catastrophic forest fire as a proxy for all the shit I donât actually want in real life (like to light my own apartment on fire and scream) and then laugh at the destruction at the end.âÂ
All âI ship itâ really means â really â is âI think thereâs a story in those two, and I want to hear it.â
All âI ship itâ really means â really â is âI think thereâs a story in those two, and I want to hear it.â
This hits different and I love it.

On pense trop Ă eux. On aime trop penser Ă eux.
Ăa a prit quatre minutes seize dâappel. Je sais que câest le choc. Je sais que câest comme ça. Je sais aussi que câest Ă©goĂŻste.
Mais pas eux. Pas eux, sâil vous plaĂźt.
That scarf was too fun to draw so I had to indulge a bit more. I rather like drawing Holmes with short hair, actually.
