For most of her life, Katherine has always tried to been everyone else’s hero. She’s tried so hard to fight for the things she believes in, trying her best to selfishly put aside her own needs. But now, it felt amazing to think of herself for once. She felt stable for once, with her lover and her child. The talk about having another kid, though, had always made her rather uncomfortable. As much as she wanted too have one with Nathan, she wasn’t sure if she wanted to go through all of that again. Having Jayce was truly a roller-coaster she doesn’t want to ride again, “Well, we’ll see about that,” She tried to change the subject quickly, “You do realize I can’t be harm, right? It comes with the whole immortality thing, honey. I’m safe, nonetheless, just as long as you’re by my side.”

Nathan didn't even know what New York was for him anymore now that half of the crew have left and parted ther ways. They all believed staying in the city was a curse and decided to venture what the United States was able to offer them. But regardless of that, Nathan still fell like he was home and now with his new life with Katherine and Jayce, it all made it easier for him. He looked over at Katherne and knew how even the term pregnancy gave her goosebumps and althought it was accidental he had spilled out about having another kid, he actually truly meant it. He wanted to grow the small family. "Hey, let me feel like the hero for once.—I mean, we technically are but you know what I mean." He laughed, leaning in to give her a kiss.

With both of their lives finally back on track, it felt nice to have a stable life for once. The hunter were finally drawn out of New York, and the villains seemed to have gone their separate ways. The world keeps constantly rotating, and sometimes, people grow. Katherine surely felt the change, and Nathan has as well, “Good for you, anyway. I don’t want to call this moment perfect, or else I’ll jinx it, but truly i couldn’t be happier for you,” She leaned over once more to place a kiss on his check, “My lil’ business man all grown up – and excuse me? Who said anything about having another kid? I practically almost died having Jayce, remember? I mean, I can’t exactly die but you get the idea.”

As time went on, everyone grew up and matured their own way. They realized what they really wanted to do in this world and everyone went on to do their own thing. Nathan has finally decided to use his power for good, leaving behind the thief life. Yet again, now with life being in a stable road, he found no reason to use his power anymore.—Except on Jayce when playing hide-and-go-seek. He feels that they are all now like in the beginning-middle of The Incredibles movies where everyone has forgotten them and they are living a normal life. "You are the master of jinxing things, so please don't." He teased, smiling as she leaned in to kiss his cheek. "Oh Katherine pleaseee! We both know we are eventually going to have another kiddo...and look, last time I wasn't there as much as I am now. I promise you'll be perfectly safe."

With every obstacle the two have faced, all it has ever done is made them stronger. Katherine has suffered a lot through the past couple of years, with being a mother and having a rather poor choice of friends, everything seemed to work out one way or another. Katherine continued to pace along Nathan’s side, rubbing her thumb soothingly on his palm, “Dwight? Is that really all you remember?” She chuckled, tilted her head to face him, “Wow, what a gentlemen. You should really stop spoiling Jayce, though, or else she’ll end up being a total daddies’ girl, we wouldn’t want that now, she’ll have you run for your money.”

Nathan would have never imagined his life being this close to perfection. But he finally found his reason to be living. He turned to look at Katherine and couldn't help to smile. How was it possible how one person can bring so much happiness and life to another? Then he was blessed of being a father to the most adorable young girl. "Hey! It has barely been the first few weeks of working there, I have to pretend I care about my job before I actually start making friends and slack off." He shrugged, laughing. "I'm sorry, babe, but I can't do that. I totally want Jayce to be a daddies' girl! Next's baby can be all mommies' kid." Nathan and Katherine never really talked about having a child together, but who knows, life comes with surprises.

Rolling her eyes at the male’s remark, all she could really think is typical Nathan. Even so, she couldn’t be happier, he was the man of her dreams, “Sounds like a party,” She grinned, “We finally start saving up for a new apartment, yeah? Not that living in your small, musky place isn’t bad—–” no, that’s totally what you mean, Katherine, “Maybe we could end up affording a penthouse.”

If you ask Nathan how much he has matured in over this past year ever since the whole season of drama and attacks (not to mention near death experience), he would say a lot. But still, he will always be himself with Katherine, for years that she grew knowing him, she fell in love with his immature and sarcastic self & he wouldn't change that. It would be like taping over a VHS of life memories. "Definitely! His name is...um—Dwight!" He nodded his head, happy with himself that he actually remembered his coworker's name. "The best I got, but yes! We are going to start saving up and I am going to give you and Jayce the best penthouse ever."

Katherine smiled widely, as she finally admit that she’s truly found her happiness, “Good to know, we should probably start heading back, yeah? I’d really love to hear how’s your new job going so far?”

Nathan intertwined his fingers with her, holding a tight grip on her hand. "That'll be a great idea." He commented, with a small chuckle. "Let's see, so far it's going great. My coworkers are very friendly and the guy that sits across from me is hilarious!" He shook his head laughing, "I mean, a big douche but man...that's what makes it funny."

“I’m sure he’s fine anyway. I mean, he’s Zach,” Katherine chuckled, leaning forward to kiss her boyfriend, “It’s alright, handsome, I’m just glad that at the end of the day you come home to me.”

"Zach!" Nathan nodded with a chuckle, smiling between the kiss. "And I couldn't have asked for a better way to end my day."

“When isn’t he drunk?I should probably call him back sometime, but with Jaycee in her new daycare and you with your new job, I feel like we haven’t had time to sit down like we use too.”

"You would expect the guy to cut back the alcohol a bit—haven't seen him for months now! I know, sweetie, I didn't think this job was going to be so busy but I hate how I love it."

“I got a called from Tessa the other day too, she seems alright with me, thank god we finally have a weekend to ourselves. it’s been hectic lately.”

"And Zach text me in the middle of the night, I think he was drunk....I have no idea what he even wrote me." Nathan chuckled. "We deserve it, I don't know how we even made it through."

“Can you believe it’s been a year already? Time flies by, right babe?”

"Well, I love the bow tie, but it is a little crooked”, she smirked, turning around to straighten it out for him. Ever since Jason’s band had been taking off, Tessa had designated herself their stylist, because the 5 of them couldn’t dress to save their lives. She liked doing it though, because it meant she could be with Jason, Nathan, and Zach more often.

Tessa smirked as she remembered all of the large events in her life these past two years : joining the hunters, Jason losing his memory, getting stabbed by Katherine, getting her writs cut open by John, the pregnancy, the miscarriage, destroying apartment buildings… the list went on and on. “Yeah, I used to be a little theatrical back then. But we all know I can literally kick everyone’s asses in there,” she replied confidently, cocking her head towards the closed door where all the wedding guests were. She had wanted a small wedding, but Jason, being the social butterfly he was, invited everyone he knew. 

"You know, I never thanked you enough. You remember, when I had just found out I was pregnant, and Jason was gone? Valerie had tried to kill me, but you stayed with me even though we didn’t like each other…"

Trying to blink away the tears that threatened to overflow, she turned away, embarassed. “That’s the night I decided his name. With a mouth like mine, you don’t really except to live a long life. If something had ever happened to me, and he had abilities like mine and Jason’s, he could look up to the two best people I knew: You, a hero, and Zach, a villain. He’d be okay…”

A longing smile on her face, she sighed as she sat down. The pain of her miscarriage never truly faded, and it was sometimes difficult to watch Katherine and Jaycee interact. However, she knew that one day, she and Jason would have more children, and it’d get better. It always did. “He’d be one…my little Zachery Nathaniel…I can just imagine…”

Laughing as she wiped her tears, she scrunched up her face to stop the tear flow. “Damn it, Nathan…you know how I feel about crying! Ugh!”

"Hey! It's the first time I dress myself up for a special occasion." He said pouting and chuckling afterwards. "Thank you." He said, slightly embarrassed that even on her day off she still had to fix his clothes up. He was glad Jason didn't had anything against Tessa working as their stylist for the band, she was a lifesaver. And gave him more time to pick on her, although Jason has called him on at it.

"I always wondered why you never went to try out for theater, for sakes, we are in New York City! You could have made it big." He said, hugging her and swaying to the small church tune that was being played. "Oh, Tessa. We know you're a butt kicker, yet again Jason still managed to win your heart and didn't even give two fucks you were a villain." He pulled away from her and stared at her, "You are proof that not all villains have a black cold heart." He said softly and smiled.

Nathan placed his hands on his pants pockets and began kicking the floor, with his stare looking down. "Oh, it's nothing." He said in a bashful tone. "I mean, what I did came from the heart. I couldn't let Valerie do anything to you. Especially with the little bundle of joy that was inside of you. Many people were actually mad at me for going to protect you." He said, remembering the amount of people who were against his actions. "But I didn't care. We did hated each other during that time, but I didn't had that cruel of a heart to let anything happen to you." He looked up at smiled at her. It was insane how much hate they had for each other and the times she tried to hurt him. But the love of friendship defeated that hate and soon an amazing friendship bloomed. Nathan doesn't regret going that night to her apartment and he doesn't hold any grudges on her for her past self. That is kept in the past.

Nathan's eyes widen in surprise that Tessa had planned to named her son after him and Zach. The reason behind it was even more touching. Nathan wouldn't have thought he was going to have someone named after him for his qualities and goodness. And Tessa was correct, if something did happen to her and Jason, he would have taken care of the kid along with Zach. He protected the kid once from Valerie when he wasn't even born and he would have done it again. Sadly, the young boy never came to their lives but Nathan can feel the presence of him and he slightly tears up at just the thought of hearing the little boy calling him Uncle Nathan.  

He quickly went to kneel down next to her, placing his hands on top of her lap. "You would have been the best mother ever." He said, rubbing her hand. "He will forever be with you and love you with all his might." Nathan grabbed both her hands and picked her up from where she was, smiling at her as she slightly sobbed. 

Nathan laughed and carefully wiped her tears away, trying not to smudge her make up. "You look beautiful crying, though!" He said, giving her forehead another cheek. "Okay, we need to calm you down because Jason will think I did something to you and I don't need him to yell at me again."

Tessa smiled as she made her way up to Nathan. She and Jason had just graduated college about two weeks ago; they had both decided that it would be better to marry after the stress of final exams. Her dress was a white Vera Wang, something she had dreamed about ever since she was a little girl. It seemed unreal….what had she done to deserve someone as great as Jason? Of course, the couple still had their issues…she was Tessa Moreno after all. But, true love conquered, and here she was. Grabbing onto Nathan’s arm, an elated smile spread across her face as she looked at her best friend. “I’m doing it, Nathan. I’m actually fucking doing it. I’m getting married!”

Nathan stood up straight once Tessa grabbed a hold of his arm. He looked down at her and smiled. That's what he liked about this friendship, he was the taller one, so he got to pick on Tessa more often. "You're fucking doing this shit. You're getting married to that crazy curly hair boy. Wow, my two best friends getting married." It has been a crazy road ever since he had moved in here. He dated a girl who was a bit obsessed over him, then dated a werewolf who nearly killed him but still loved her to bits, but at the end he ended up with the amazing and gorgeous Katherine and to make the relationship extra special, Jayce was part of the journey too. Then he had Zach, who he has dragged to near death experiences. And surprisingly Zach still wanted to stay friends with him and that meant a lot for Nathan. He looked over at Tessa and his eyes began to tear up, "I bought a bow tie for the special occasion," he said in a laugh, "Oh Tessa, you're getting married. I've seen you fucking transform to a bad bitch, to still a bad bitch but with a sweet heart. It's insane." He said, giving her a kiss in the forehead. "You know, you still got time to runaway. I'll runaway with you." He laughed, his jokes can just get out of hand sometimes.

Nathan stood in the entrance of the chapel waiting for Tessa to arrive. He felt nervous and slightly chuckled at the idea that he was. He wasn't the one getting married. But Tessa grew to be an important person in his life, it was like he was about to let go of his little sister. Tessa arrived and he slightly smiled at her. Her white wedding gown was beyond gorgeous. She was gorgeous overall. "You know, you should have more makeovers, it suits you." He joked, trying to make the moment less tense.
