Spoilers for Tokyo Revengers ending, and chapters 93-98 of Wind Breaker
Last night I was thinking about a Wind Breaker and Tokyo Revengers crossover, in which it would take place in Tokyo Revengers' final timeline. This crossover / AU would focus on Izana and Kakucho's non-profit organization, but at the time, I had no connection because none of the characters were orphans (that I knew of). We knew from season 1 that Umemiya Hajime and Kotoha Tachibana grew up together in a group home, but that doesn't automatically mean they are orphans. Well, after finishing s2 of Wind Breaker, I started reading the manga.
As we know from chapter 93, Umemiya is canonically an orphan.
Initially, I was going to have Sakura be the connection, because (as far as I've read) his parents are not present, but having it be Umemiya works better.
Tokyo Revengers' final timeline takes place in 2018, but we don't know the exact year Wind Breaker takes place. For the purpose of this AU, it takes place in the present (2024-2025). By this timeline, Umemiya was orphaned in between 2015-2017, as he was 8 or 9 at the time of his parents' death. In the present, he is 17 or 18 years old.
We also know that Izana likely started his organization as a young adult, because in 2018 he would roughly be 30 years old, and it is implied that he has been running it for some time now. We will say the organization started to take off in his early 20s, so between 2008-2013.
The timelines work well enough for this AU for this reason. By 2015-2017, Izana's organization had likely become more well-known, as well as its cause.
I headcanon that Izana likes to visit the group homes and orphanages that his organization supports when he can. Izana lives in Japan (or the Philippines, but I think he'd stay in Japan), meaning he would likely frequent those homes the most.
So, now that all this background and 'world building' has been established, onto the actual AU!
Izana and Kakucho happened to be visiting Makochi in 2017, they have been supporting the group home located in the town for a few years at this point, and they try to visit when they can.
Izana takes an interest in the young Umemiya Hajime, as well as Furin High School during this visit. The visit just so happens to land on the day in which Umemiya had been run off and had gotten into some trouble. He and Kakucho personally assisted in the search efforts, but they were unable to stay for too long once the boy was found.
After this event, they make a point to visit the Makochi group home more frequently. The next time they go, Umemiya is ten years old, and he seems happier.
Some years pass, and the next time they visit, Umemiya is 15 years old, and he has started Bofurin at this point.
Basically, this AU would be from both Izana and Umemiya's pov's during these visits. That is all I have now.
