Ok I haven’t seen anyone mention this on Tumblr yet but @iSakura_chan on Twitter apparently got ahold of the storyboards for the original ending to HXH 99 that was proposed by director Kazuhiro Furuhashi and REJECTED by Togashi.

To my understanding, Kurapika dies killing Chrollo, and then there’s a timeskip. There’s a reunion of Mito/Kite/Ging on Whale Island, and then Killua apparently tries to assassinate Ging, but Gon interferes and accidentally kills Killua?????????

That’s how it ends????????????
