- I'm a disabled parent making $826/mo on SSDI, but I only got $217 of my monthly payment this month due to a Medicare premium that will also take $200 next month – I signed up for a medicare savings program that is supposed to pay it back, but I haven't heard from them yet and I have bills due next week
- I just got hit with an extra $260/mo expense to benefit the man who has spent years harassing and stalking me after physically and sexually abusing the fuck out of me during our relationship; who ran out of his kid's life and never paid child support – $50/week in gas + $15/week visitation fee. (btw for everyone who saw my last donation post – I found out that my ex does in fact pay for $15 of the $30 fee, but i was only able to raise enough for gas last week so today I owe $30 for visitation). *It is literally impossible for me to pay for this.*
- I went through a traumatic situation a couple of months ago; details in the original post but long story short two police officers attempted to murder me in the middle of the highway with oncoming traffic. I have two tickets and I'm trying to fight them in court but they made a loophole where I can't get a public defender so if I can't find a lawyer pro bono I'm SOL if I can't raise the money for one — haven't found one yet, next court date is July 9
- my bf was illegally fired, he got his job back but he lost a week of pay and either way he can't take care of these extra expenses for me due to all the help he's already given me without me being able to pay him back
- my suv still needs the transmission replaced and my partner's family's car I'm borrowing is falling apart; we were able to fix one thing that was causing the borrowed car to break down over and over (still breaks down just not as often) thanks to donations but I have to get my suv from the place it's parked at soon or I'll lose it completely. At this point, it's looking like all I can do for now is get it towed because I've been trying to raise the money to fix it for about 5 months now and every time I'm ready to fix it another expense pops up.
- On top of having to drive down to my hometown every week now, I also have appointments in town, such as a dentist appointment on Tuesday and an appointment to meet with my court appointed GAL the week after that. It costs $50 in gas every time.
- I've been trying to doordash but I'm barely having any luck at all. My earnings average out to $5/hr. I worked 16 hours last week and only got paid for 3 of them. I can't work that much due to chronic pain.

I've explained on here a bit about how violent he is. It's why I've had at least 5 restraining orders filed on the dude. He wasn't just physically abusive towards me, he is towards EVERYONE – he has assaulted his friends, his family members, my family members, his BOSS, and even complete strangers, like how he went to prison for two years for "nearly beating a guy to death with a skateboard on the sidewalk" 🙃 the amount of people he's threatened is even more! He can't rent a place because he's tried to threaten landlords into decreasing the rent 🙃🙃🙃🙃
I've had 4 (now 3) ongoing court case against him since he got out of prison in October – a restraining order for me, a petition for a name change for my kid (why did I give him his dad's last name when I only dated him for a few months in high school??), and a restraining order for my kid, which the court decided to turn into a paternity case, because it turns out I didn't have full legal custody like I thought (i was granted full legal custody for a restraining order i filed in 2015; i did not know it was temporary and only lasted for the length of the restraining order.) This court case will allow me permanent full custody and remove ALL legal rights from his father, which will then allow me to change my son's last name without any argument from his sperm donor.
The first judge i saw, for the restraining order, is the one who ordered visitation. He clearly had a father bias, and our guardian ad litem HATES him. Once we got a new judge, the GAL went OFF about how ridiculous it was of the old judge to grant him anything at all after all of the information provided and the situation that arose during our first court date.
Another woman had filed a restraining order on him at the same time as me, so for the first trial, the judge called both of our cases at the same time. Our ex was in jail for the day (idr why) and appeared by video call.
When the judge asked him questions, he would ignore the question and go on to say shit like "man, I was gonna look so hot today if I wasn't here in jail haha! This is sooooo embarrassing. I'm actually a really great person –" and the judge kept having to cut him off to say "Mr. [X]. Mr. [X]. Answer the question or I'll have to hang up on you." Our ex continued to spew nonsense anyway. I had never heard an entire court room laugh at someone before. Eventually, our ex got angry and started lashing out, so the judge had to hang up. He looked at both of us and said "I see why you guys filed these." The entire courtroom ERUPTED into laughter. It was crazy.
And then... during the next trial... he said, for SOME fuckin reason, "well, I don't wanna take a father away from his son, so... I think the last we can do is supervised visitation..."
Well, the court ordered visitation didn't happen for 9 months because my ex never contacted anyone, including the GAL. I thought it wasn't happening, especially since I asked for it NOT to happen. But now I'm living 2 hours away, and I got the phone call on June 11 to let me know it would start a week later, and I had no choice but to pay for the gas there AND the visitation fee.
I said "I give it at maximum 3 visits before his dad fucks it up." I was spot on. (We missed one visit, so the 3rd visit happened last week).
After the visit last week, my kid told me that his dad was acting "really weird and jumpy." Said he didn't make sense with his words at all and kept randomly jumping out of his seat. He asked my kid personal questions about my life, which my kid fortunately knew not to answer. And he randomly told my kid about a "group chat where his friends were bragging about selling drugs to his uncle."
Yesterday, I got a call from the supervisor, and she told me "I have decided to terminate visits." She said that since the visit went so bad last week, she called him yesterday to make sure he would be stable enough for a visit. She said he was hostile, wasn't making sense at all, and eventually tried to threaten her into getting his way, so she told him that they're going to have to stop doing visits. Apparently, he completely lost his shit right before hanging up on him. The supervisor told me that she didn't just think it was unsafe for my child to be around him, but the entire staff felt unsafe with him around.
I was like yeah, this is his normal, unfortunately.
This broke my kid's heart. I fucking told the judge this would happen.
Well, at least this will largely benefit me for all future court cases 🙃
OH YEAH I also finally got my car moved!!! Sorry I haven't been the best at updating where the donations have been going because there are just *waves arms around* SO MANY god damn expenses that I've fallen behind on PLUS now that I've lost my medicaid (probably should've mentioned that again but it's in a previous update in the notes) I owe money for past appointments and I can no longer access medical care without payment because Medicare (through UnitedHealth 🤢) either only partially covers expenses or doesn't cover them at all :)))))
I no longer have any kind of dental insurance at all and I had to cancel a dentist's appointment a day after breaking off part of a tooth :))) which now hurts a lotttt :)))))))))

antiracism is a constant process. i was raised in a racist village and it's not easy to get rid of it. i moved away over 10 years ago but those ideas are still haunting me.
also keep in mind that shame + guilt are not conducive to growing as a person. when it comes to "checking yourself" it should be a non-judgemental process. it's not about flagellating yourself for every bad thought or trying to purify your mind of all corruption. it's only when acknowledging your own racist thoughts doesn't fill you with dread that you can really progress past the white guilt of it all.
radical self-acceptance & genuine self-critique are not opposites. they need each other. do not let obsessive-compulsive behaviors colonize your desire to grow as a person.

Namaygoosisagagun First Nation/Collins has burned to the ground. The entire community is nothing but ashes after being quickly consumed by wildfires. They did not have any support from emergency services, and no one offered aid. The community saved themselves by escaping into boats because no one came.
Mishkeegogamang and Cat Lake have lost power. Families are ending up in shelters with nothing. Armstrong, Lac La Croix, Whitesand, Gull Bay, Lac des Mille Lacs are currently in the fires path and all members are being evacuated.
All this loss, all this devastation, and it was entirely preventable.
After steadily underfunding wildland firefighting and purposefully excluding Indigenous wildland firefighters and Indigenous wildfire organizations from wildfire operations, firefighter training, decisionmaking, and resource exchanges, in 2025, Doug Ford slashed the forest firefighting budget.
It's hard to ignore his decision to cut funding and leave us out of adequate fire training (even though we've lived with forest fires for thousands of years—far longer than settlers have been in Canada—and made sure fires like the ones we're all seeing today were prevented through kinisitotēn) when, despite making up less than 5% of the population, we account for 42% percent of all wildfire evacuations in Canada.
And when we are successfully evacuated, we face discrimination and racism—like Kashechewan—because it's always been easier to blame us than it is to blame the true culprit: denialism, corportate greed, and colonization.
The people of Collins and every other impacted community deserve better.

During a summer heat wave in Alaska growing up (yes it’s a thing), my dad had several sprinklers and a tractor sprinkler going in the yard. From the woods behind the house suddenly came two young babies and a very large mother.
They came directly towards the tractor sprinkler and sat right down.
My dad verrrrry slowly pulled the hose of the other sprinklers, and repositioned them in the backyard so they would spray grass under the shade of several trees.

hey jsyk while hellofresh is dummy expensive and i wouldn’t reccomend it if you already know how to cook (if you’re a beginner like i was when i had it for 3 months, then it’s worth it), you should know that ALL OF THEIR RECIPES are free on their website and they all fuck hard
i will say that all the cooking instructions for veggies are pretty much the same (season with salt + pepper and roast on the top oven rack at 425F), but if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

"1 packet stock concentrate" = either one tablespoon Better than Bullion or, if you want to be really accurate, Savory Choice Broth Concentrate packets are available on Amazon and allegedly that's what they use
"Italian Heat Spice"/"Blackening Spice"/"Fry Seasoning"/etc.: I promise you someone on Reddit has figured out what spices they use and in what proportions for each mix, if it's not just a straight up branded mix (like McCormick Grill Mates Brown Sugar Bourbon spice mix)
"Roasted Garlic Herb Butter" (and other compound butters, like truffle butter) = they're literally Epicurean branded butters, they do not hide this, you can buy them online

You want to work abroad? Better be a programmer, then of course you are welcome. Doctor, scientist, white-collar or, god forbid, blue-collar worker? You can fuck right off, your visa application goes straght into trash.
But if you marry one of our first-world citizens, then fine, you can come. Because we can't upset them, after all, they are a real person, unlike you.
EU Advice to people who have friends in places with weak passports- go to your department of foreigners and ask for something that called Formal Letter of Invitation or something similar. It usually is called something similar and costs a few euro/whatever currency you have. It will not be more than a fancy coffee at Starbucks or such place.
You will have to prove that you can afford a guest, have some income and also usually take responsibility for possible deportation cost.
But if you really are inviting a friend over, they will give you a formal document you can send to your friend. Then the friend applies for a visa while attaching the Very Official document with it. They will get the Schengen visa and most probably will get it expedited too.
It's some effort, but if it's for a friend it's worth it. And it's way less costly than the ridiculous loops the friend is being forced to go through and pay for multiple 3rd party services just to get a freaking visa for a month.
