Update Log #1

Hello! I’m not at all sure what’s the best way to do this, so I’ll try using topics and, if it doesn’t work, keep trying until I find a method that does :3

* Most choices have been accounted for so far. There’s a particular branch that’s been giving me a bit of trouble, but I suppose I’ll have it done until tonight or tomorrow morning.

* Still on that, I haven’t quite checked the choices for the third branch yet, but they’ve been working on tests so far.

* The possible endings have all been checked, though, so yay!

* Game mechanics and toggles have already been implemented and tested. All seems to be well!

* Stat changes and the overall aspects of moving them through the story have also been implemented. Up until now, all quicktest, randomtest and putting my twin to playtest for me have gone well.

* I’ve realized I’ve made the entire thing with 0 chances of giving the MC a name. Oops. My bad. Will get around to fixing it tomorrow.

estimated total wordcount: around 70k-80k

average playthrough: that’s between me and the universe aka I haven’t checked that yet. Will do. Someday. Who knows? (not me)

hello thekla! i'm so excited for more info about the game to come out! it sounds amazing:) i'm wondering if there's any particular reason the ro's names aren't announced yet? are you waiting for the first chapter to be released?

Hello! I'm really happy to know that, and I hope the game reaches your expectations ♡

The only particular reason is that I'm a little bit of a dumbass ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ to be honest, I had a RO page set up, a FAQ, some lore, all of that, but I didn't quite like how they looked, so I took them down to work on it again. Joke's on me! I forgot to put them back on, and, as we're now approaching the release date, I kinda figured it'd be ok to wait a little longer before doing that 😄

The Phantom Project

Hello! I'm Thekla, and this is the tumblr acount for the CYOA game The Phantom Project.

The Phantom Project is an interactive horror novel that plays with cyberpunk, science fiction and psychological elements. Here, you'll play as a character who grew up in a government facility, taught from young age to work seamlessly either alongside their teammates (Unit Rogue) or on their own ― you'll play as someone who's found a way out of it and never looked back. Ten years after running away, the past finally gets to you, and that's when the story starts.

There are currently eight romanceable characters, none of them gender-locked (as in: you can romance whoever you want), and I'm playing with the idea of poly paths. Romance isn't obligatory, and my plan includes getting fulfilling friendships amidst all of it as well ― you'll also be able to play the lone wolf, if you want, and the game won't "punish" you for it (aka: no "bad endings" merely for making enemies out of everything that breathes).

The MC's completely customizable, from gender to name and appearance, but I'm still deciding just how specific I'll get with descriptions of them through the game.

As of right now, I'm revamping and polishing the first chapter, planned to be released alongside the prologue at dashingdon on May 25th.
