(ooc: i think tumblr ate my last pinned post. or maybe i didn't have one. OH WELL. i'll. update this post to have a different saying everytime something new happens to Marin.)
*As you retraced your steps through the forest, the sound of a bell and a thump catch your attention. Directly to your left is a clearing, one that holds a red-head who seems…determined to take down a tree using nothing but a bell.*
( @the-real-lu-marin )
[She pauses in her tracks for many moments before getting closer. She has not seen someone like you before.]
..Hello? What're you doing? You know a bell can't actually cut a tree down.
*She stops her next swing midair, nearly dropping her bell on her foot. She turns to look at you from over her shoulder, her bell still held high.*
…Who are you?
*Her voice is scratchy and broken as she talks, almost as if she had been screaming or crying recently.*
[Should she be throwing her name out haphazardly like this..? Well, she's never seen you before, and you seem.... Confused.]
[Chopping a tree with a bell at sunset is.... Weird, to say the least.]
Polaris. ...You are?
*Slowly, the bell is lowered, though her shoulders remain tense.*
…Marin.
*She turns to face you fully, searching you over. For what, it is unclear. There’s an almost…predatory glint in her eye*
Marin, nice to meet you.
[She's more relaxed than she probably should be. Sure, you're a stranger, but it doesn't seem like you're about to call them a thief nonstop. It's a welcome change in pace.]
So. What brings you out into the middle of fuckass nowhere?
*Marin’s bell clangs as she walks closer to you. She starts circling you, looking you over completely.*
…Jus’ woke up here. Dunno where-
*She clears her throat.*
-Where I am.
Well, the town I'm from is just down the road. It's full of assholes, but they'll be nice to you.
Besides, most of them should be hunkered away in their homes by now.
[She keeps an eye on you as you slowly circle around her. Your movements are off-putting, to say the least.]
*She continues to circle, though she seems to get closer to you. Slowly, but surely, she inches closer.*
Hm. Will they?
Yeah... They just hate me-
[Okay this is getting weird.]
You're getting too fucking close.,
[She attempts to back up. Maybe put out the message that she does not want you close.]
Am I?
*If possible, she gets closer. Her bell lets out a loud clang as she stops, right in your face. Her mouth twitches as if she's holding back a grin. The look in her eye is obvious now. She has no good intentions here.*
[She takes a step back as she feels her stomach drop. Something tells her she made a mistake by trying to talk to you.]
*As you take a step back, she takes a step forward. The grin that she was holding back before is now on full display, and everything about it screams that you need to run.*
[She takes a few steps back, desperately looking for an opening. Turning her back on you is not a good idea. Maybe she can.... Juke you out?]
[She looks to her right and gasps dramatically, pointing to nowhere in particular.]
What the fuck is that?!
[She turns to her left and tries to run.]
*Marin, having gone through the war with menaces known as Tune and Mask, doesn't even hesitate. She's reaching out and grabbing your arm before you can even move. Her grip on your arm is painful. Her nails dig into your flesh.*
There's nothing there.
*She's quiet when she speaks.*
Why are you trying to leave? We just started talking.
Shit- let go of me, bitch!
[They try to wrench your fingers away from her arm. Now she's wishes that she could've just dealt with the townspeople swearing at her or whatever. At least they're usually never creepy!]
*She laughed, tilting her head at you.*
You remind me of someone.
*She lets go of your arm, though she’s quickly dropping her bell and tackling you to the ground instead.*
I think you’d get along with him.
What the fuck?! Get off me!
[She's pushing against you, doing her best to get you away from her. She has no idea what's going on. Did you decide to attack them because they look like whoever you're talking about? They don't get it.]
Why?
*She's grabbing your wrists, pulling your arms together to hold them in one hand. Her legs are keeping your waist pinned, making it harder for you to kick her off.*
Why?! Do you think you can just- fucking- pin me down because you want? Fucking creep!
[Okay, so fighting you is not going well and they're starting to panic. They have no idea who you are or what's going on, really.]
*She shrugs.*
It's not like I'm ever going to see you again.
*Looking you over, a realization comes to her. Slowly, a wider grin appears on her face.*
[Oh, that's not a good look. Her efforts to fight you off increase with that eerie look on your face.]
The fuck is that supposed to mean?!
Hm.
*She neglects to answer you, instead reaching a hand to a small pouch on her side. She fumbles around with it for a moment, a look of concentration taking over the ominous smile.*
You're very pretty, by the way.
[Oh, so you're creepier than she thought! Great! Wonderful!]
I don't fucking care about what you think about my looks! Get off!
[Nothing she's trying is working. Amazing. Fantastic. So exciting. She does not like that look in your eyes.]
*Hm. You're starting to remind her more of herself...She doesn't like that.*
You should care. If I didn't think you were pretty, I would be more inclined to hurt your face.
*As she speaks, her hand pulls out a dagger from her pouch. An odd place to keep a sharp object, but if it works it works.*
[Her eyes widen significantly the moment she notices the dagger. No. You wouldn't.]
What are you— get off, you bitch!
[She starts trying to fight you off harder. You're trying to kill her! Sure, life fucking sucks recently, but she's not ready to die!]
*Slowly, as to not injure you in an unwanted place, she moves the dagger to be pressed against your side.*
Once again, why would I do that?
*She stares at you as she slowly presses the dagger’s side into yours.*
[Any type of pushback she would've had devolves into screams. She can feel every agonizing moment, and all she can do is scream and keep trying to push you off.]
[Her screams are loud, but not quite shrill. Almost hoarse.]
*She finds herself smiling as you scream, nearly laughing. Oh, you sound beautiful. She wants to know what other sounds you can make.*
You're doing wonderful for the first cut.
*She stops pushing the dagger into your side, holding it in place.*
[Her screams die down and she's left gasping for breath. She's not crying. Not yet at least.]
[She couldn't look more terrified than the moment she realized what you had just said. First? First?!?]
*She frowns as you stop screaming, but she lets it slide. You do need to breathe, after all. She doesn't want you passing out.*
Don't look at me like that.
*Abruptly, she pulls the dagger from your skin, plunging it into your upper arm just as quickly.*
[Her screams are back, louder than before. The sudden pain from the knife being ripped out by her side is only doubled by the pain in her arm. Actual hot tears start streaming down their face.]
*She is laughing now, though it sounds fond, not cruel.*
Oh, I was wondering when you would cry. You look even prettier now, Polaris.
*Your name rolls off her tongue well. It’s almost like it was made to be said by her. Oh, well obviously it was. This is still a dream.*
*She twists the dagger in your arm, smiling gleefully.*
[Her screams become a mixture of screaming and pleading. Some pleas are full of vulgar language, while others are just filled with desperation.]
[She wants this to end, please!)
*The dagger is pulled out again, slowly. She watches your face, eyes wide. She can't help but wonder if it'd be possible to have this dream again.*
Aw, you want me to stop? Shame. I think the blood really does make you look wonderful...I wonder if you were real, would these scar?..
*As you retraced your steps through the forest, the sound of a bell and a thump catch your attention. Directly to your left is a clearing, one that holds a red-head who seems…determined to take down a tree using nothing but a bell.*

*As you retraced your steps through the forest, the sound of a bell and a thump catch your attention. Directly to your left is a clearing, one that holds a red-head who seems…determined to take down a tree using nothing but a bell.*
