Welcome to the Taglist Repository!
This is a blog for holding Sanders Sides taglists
How it works:
There is a masterpost of lists, and anyone writing a fic that fits a certain list can grab that list and tag everyone for that thing. That way, writers with a smaller audience have a better chance of getting seen, and people with specific interests get a stream of precisely that.
FAQ
(or at least what I imagine would be FAQs. More questions will be added if/when they’re actually asked.)
Q: As a reader, what’s my obligation?
A: Reblog the fics you get tagged in! If you feel up to it, say something in your reblog, too. Authors love that. Yes, even if it’s just a keysmash or a single emoji.
Q: How do I get on a taglist?
A: Send an ask! Simply specify what taglist(s) you want to be added to, and that’s it! You’ll know you’ve been added when your ask is answered with something like “added” or “done.”
Note: Please be sure to explicitly state that you want to be on a taglist. Asks such as "I love x category" will be treated as simply comments to that effect, rather than taglist requests.
Q: Can I get on a list in a different way than sending an ask?
A: Nope! For organizational reasons, and so we don't miss any asks, we want all taglist requests to come via ask.
Q: What if I want a sideblog to be tagged instead of my main?
A: In your ask, let us know what sideblog you want tagged. The answer, rather than being simply “added” will tag said sideblog and ask for confirmation, so that we don’t have the taglist equivalent of signing your friend up for a magazine subscription without their knowledge. Simply reblog the post with confirmation, and you’ll know you’ve been added by a reblog back to here with “added.”
Q: As a writer, how should I use this blog?
A: When you’re doing your taglists, check the masterpost for categories into which your fic falls. Copy the taglist from that category, and there you go! We reccomend doing your tagging in a reblog, and also including what list you got it from, so the people you're tagging know what category (or categories) your fic falls into before they read it.
Note: In order for the taglist to work, you have to manually select and enable each tag. Merely copy-paste ing won’t work, because tumblr is a broken mess of a website.
Note 2: Tumblr also has a 50-mentions-per-post cap. If the sum of your lists is greater than that, you may have to do multiple waves of taglists. If any one taglist has more than 50 usernames on it, we’ll put a line break between the 50th and 51st so it’s easy to tell.
Please mention that you got the list from @the-taglist-repository so others can find our blog and utilize this service.
Q: I changed my username but I still want to be tagged.
A: Just send an ask saying so, including what your username used to be, and we’ll update all the lists you’re on. (you don’t have to tell us what lists you’re on, since we can use your previous asks to figure that out.)
Q: Someone on this list doesn’t seem to have a tumblr anymore.
A: They might be deactivated, but it may also be that they’ve changed their username and forgot to tell us. Please let us know, and we’ll take care of it, whether that means removing them from the list(s), or updating their username.
You can go to the-taglist-repository.tumblr.com/tagged/insert-username-here if you want to check yourself. Their original ask(s) will show up, under their new username.
Q: I want to be on a taglist that’s not listed
A: As long as it’s Sanders Sides, we’ll make it! Send an ask.
Q: I don’t want to be on X taglist anymore
A: Okay! Send an ask about that, and we’ll take you off.
Q: I don't want to see your posts
A: Everything is tagged "#taglist repository". Feel free to block.
Q: I want to be on several taglists. How can I make this easiest on the mods?
A: It helps if you separate your request list based on category. For example, list all the relationships you want to be tagged in, then all the AUs, etc. If you’re requesting something that will require making a new post, preferably put that at the end of its section. If you’re requesting a relationship whose components aren’t extremely obvious from the name, please also list out who they are.
To make it even easier, you could alphabetize your request. (within the categories!) The taglists are listed in alphabetical order on their masterposts, so your ask being in alphabetical order means it takes less time to open all the right lists to put you in, and also means we're less likely to accidentally miss one.
One notable exception is on the relationships masterpost. They are sorted first by how many people are in the relationship (in ascending order), and then alphabetically.
Q: I see a taglist on a masterpost, but there’s no link.
A: Nobody’s asked to be put on that taglist yet, so we haven’t made a post for it yet. It’s on the list because we thought it was something people might be interested in.
