It’s been a dream of mine ever since I watched the David Attenborough documentary on Komodo dragons to go to Komodo island. It was absolutely incredible, I was there at mating season and I actually got to witness the start of a fight between two Komodo males over the female! So fucking cool. Only problem was the 4 day boat trip I was on was full of couples, I was the only solo traveller and the only single one and the only English speaking. Needless to say I finished 3 books in 4 days...

Bali. I released quite a few things. 1) I love partying more than most people but I surprised myself a lot. South Bali seemed more like Magaluf than the beautiful island I was expecting, and I actually didn’t like it very much at all. 2) People say everyone in Asia is going to steal you’re things, but I left the keys of my scooter in the ignition and was gone for 4 hours and no one stole the bike!! Faith in humanity right there. 3) going off on an adventure without the vaguest clue always seems like a good idea, and then you realise you’re about to die stranded on a mountain in the pouring rain. But I survived and it was a good story so there’s always that! 4) North Bali is FAR better than south everyone. Don’t forget it. 5) I was ready to leave Bali within a week. 6) MONKEYS ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND

Java, possibly one of my favourite places in the world. I may bias as this was the very start of my journey, travelling alone and for the first time. Can’t believe it was almost 6 months ago now.
