I just really love some of the subtlety in Astarion's approval mechanics.

Initially in act 1 he will just absolutely whine and bitch every time you try to do something even vaguely altruistic. Under the hood, they're only small dings to your approval--1 here, 5 there; he's constantly annoyed with your average do-gooder player, and it comes off like he's just a purely selfish asshole. Which he is. But there's more to it.

Pay attention to his banter throughout the game and he'll mention how he called on every God, how he wanted someone to rescue him, and no one ever did. How he used to be attracted to heroic princely types like Wyll. It's the bitterness of someone who had his worldview shattered. He's basically in the back of the group rolling his eyes every time you do something cartoonishly heroic, because he doesn't think heroism exists.

But by act 3, there's a shift. You start getting "Astarion approves" for things like rescuing slaves or being kind to children. Slowly but surely, as it becomes apparent that your intentions are sincere, your hero bullshit starts rubbing off on him. And it's rewarding as hell.

st5 ep 7 is now the worst rated episode in the show on IMDb.

are we as a fandom fucking stupid? do we not see the issue here? netlfiex sent going to look into why its rated bad. the people review bombing negatively are actively hurting the queer community as a whole. Netflix just going to see that the episode with a queer character coming out is the worst rated episode out of 42(43) episodes. if its poorly reviewed, its bringing in less money, and thats all the company is going to care about. if you are honest on your review this signet about you, but to the people review bombing it poorly, know that your only setting the precedent for us to never get queer representation in media like you preach and swear you want.

The even more horrifying scene of the kids all going psycho, chanting, and beating her up. Straight up horror show.

The explanation of the bridge, how vecna survived, what he's been doing, why he chose will, why will had to come out (which was low-key super poignant writing actually, flaws and all - go back and watch him talk to Joyce beforehand... He literally explains it all. & telling everyone so the fear could be 100% gone, like... What's not clicking for people. And the group reaction was a perfect blend of cheese and heart - did y'all not realize you were watching an 80s teen scifi show, not euphoria? Lol).

The hilarious one-liners (the Steve big dick joke... like?) ... Hopper's reaction to the D&D references... Murray's reaction to everything Hopper says...

Love it when a tragedy introduces another character who's having basically the same terrible day and making even one (1) less Bad Decision about it.
