Australia is on fire.

Hopefully that gets your attention. I normally don’t post non-Gendrya things but I figured this is worth going off script.

Here is what you need to know about the state of Australia right now:

- Eastern Australia is currently on fire.

- 1 million hectares has been burnt.

- Over 150 homes have been destroyed.

- Fire stations have been destroyed.

- Over 350 schools were closed yesterday because the risk of having to evacuate thousands of students wasn’t worth going along business as usual.

- People are being urged to go to CBD areas because in a last resort that is what the government and army will prioritise to save if everything becomes fucked up beyond saving.

- QLD, my state, is still recovering from the fires we had a few weeks ago and it looks like we’re going to get more.

- Barnaby Joyce, that dude you might know who had the beef with Johnny Depp’s dog, said that the three people who died “probably voted for the greens”.

So far there’s not been a lot of traction about this on Twitter. When California and the Amazon starts burning the world is up in arms about it. Australia isn’t getting the same kind of recognition. People are dying here. People are losing their homes. People we know have lost everything.

Someone starts lamenting how she needs to be brave on her wedding night and that it will all be over soon and that Gendry is a good man and will be gentle with her. And Arya has no one but herself in that room who knows she and Gendry have been going at it on the regular for pry a few years by then, so she has to look at herself in the mirror as if she’s in the office. But then she smiles at her reflection thinking about how she hopes he’s not gentle tonight.

I’m sorry but I just can’t get over how soft Gendry gets because of Arya. Arya gets mentioned a lot about this because she’s a badass warrior princess but Arya’s actually a social person by nature. She likes people. Gendry? Gendry’s a grumpy asshole. He’s snarky and likes maybe a handful of people.

Gendry is a completely different person with Arya and I’m so here for it.
