"I said, go away. M'lady."
I have no hate in my heart when i say this but it bothers me so much when the idea of Arya and Daenerys and Brienne being happily in love find so many critics..from their - so called - fans on tiktok.
"Daenerys doesnt need a man to be the greatest" nor Aragorn son of Arathorn needed Arwen to make his character complete and compaling enough to become one of the greatest fantasy heros of all times..yet he has her on his side, sharing with her a love so deep and pure that she refuse to be immortal for him. Why Daenerys cant have someone that loves her this much and still be cool?
"Arya reject gender roles and thinks women are important too and she is wild and fierce, and she chose her destiny for herself and has no need of a man" and so does Éowyn the shieldmaiden of Rohan that killed the most ferocious, insidious and cruel creature her world has ever seen..yet she is not less cool just because she felt in love with Faramir of Gondor and lived happily with him.
"Brienne doesn't need a man because she's managed to get a place in society that is usually only for men, she's not a useless damsel in distress" first of all, Brienne would immediantly dislike you for think that the maids in her so loved songs are useless..secondly Galadriel "the mightiest and fairest of all the Elves that remained in Middle-Earth" too attains absolute power, far greater than Brienne's, and I say this as Brienne's lover, so much so that if she would touch the ring they wouldn't be able to stop her ever..yet she is happily married with Celeborn. Is she less cool? I do NOT think so.
The idea that a female character, to be cool, NEED to be as much detached from anything it was once perceived as typical feminine as possible is already so disgusting that i feel like i am talking with alt right pro Russia father - that also pretend to be a feminist when spent the whole time at the family christmas gathering decomposing the chemical of my brain while talking about how much women need men - but to think that a woman cant be a cool badass heroine and still find love is beyond me. Who said that? Why men can have both but women dont?
- please Lord of the Rings fan do not come for my neck, i only watched the movies and a long time ago..i promise that i will read the books.

Okay so I’m also not a huge fan of legitimized Gendry but one thing is that it has so much potential for a reverse acorn hall. Like I want to see Gendry getting shoved into fancy lords clothes while Arya laughs her ass off.

never forget what they (that show, hbo, the usual dumbasses we all know, that lady who was the one in charge of casting, who i can't remember her name right now) took away from us:
gendry actually being a child, first and foremost.
how arya is the social extroverted one and gendry is the asocial introverted one.
gendry canonically being the one with a crush on arya.
gendry's adorable and childish flirtation skills: e.g. "a nice oak tree" and "those soft little things" (when talking about arya's own hands)
gendry canonically being the one that gets irrationally jealous when arya talks with other boys.
gendry canonically being the one that wants to make arya feel jealous.
gendry being awkward and very reserved about sex (because the boy is a virgin, alright)
the fact that arya and her friendship really meant something to book!gendry. (can we even think for a milisecond that probably arya was the first person to actually show gendry that she truthfully cared for him and his well-being?)
how they were and still are separated, but gendry hasn't forgotten about her even for a second. he is still mourning her, because! she! is! important! to! him!
another thing that really hurts me too: how they completely erased the fact that arya and gendry are still in parallel journeys with both being child soldiers that choose/were groomed to join a cult (the bwb later on became a little more cultish with lady stoneheart in charge) and how said cult or cultish organization is obsessed with death. also, can i bring attention to the fact that affc!gendry is fucking dark? there's always people claiming that book!arya has gotten too dark for book!gendry, the same boy (just let me remind people) that is currently an outlaw knight and is part of a group committing war crimes in the riverlands trying to avenge the killing of the stark faction at the red wedding. book!gendry could never be soft boi show!gendry, even if he tried.
and how arya and gendry probably still would understand what the other went through in their time apart better than anyone else.
honestly there's not a "darker arya" without a "darker gendry" to accompany her when they reunite, now that i think about it.
