Sorry for the long delay in posting guys from my first post on the Gameboy Color reshell, but without anymore wasted time here is the nest steps to my reshell guide:
Step 1: Firstly, you will need to remove the four screws from the back, these are the ones at the side, then take off the battery plate and remove the two that are in the battery bay, next to eachother, once these have been removed the back plate will easily slot out.
Step 2: After the removal of the back plate of the Gameboy Color, holding the motherboard down are 3 screws that will also need to be removed! (Also as a handy hint mark where they have been removed from with a fine sharpie pen for when you are reassembling it later on, incase you forget where they go)
Step 3: This is one of the more complex parts, connecting the motherboard to the screen is a gold ribbon, these are sometimes very flimsy, so when doing these next parts take care and becareful, the gold ribbon is connected to a clip, which is held in by two smaller clips
Step 4: You will need to unclip both of these tiny clips to release the gold ribbon from its connector, i found that it was easy to unclip these with my fingers or a very small flat headed screwdriver too, just make sure you are careful with the ribbon!
Step 5: The Clips undone! (for your reference)
Step 6: The Ribbon once the clips are undone should just slip out very easily, the motherboard will pop out and the screen will still be inside the frontplate of the Gameboy Color, this is normal! I will get around to this on the next post!
Hope this has again has been a good follow up.carry on from where I left off last time guys! and once again my apologise for any delays from the first post on here! Hope you enjoyed the read and feel free to follow for the next posting on this Gameboy Color Reshell!!Â
Thanks Guys!
