What is Stress?
So in one month: I've moved 3,000 miles away from my family, apartment, friends, and first real job, have worked at two start-ups in my new city, gone to one networking event, joined a gym, taken a bus, been bullied by a homeless person, taken a long drive, FaceTimed with friends, called my mom crying, argued with my boyfriend, spent countless amount of hours on Craigslist, been on a photoshoot and at some point washed my clothes and sheets.
All this time I've stressed and worried. Worried about my job, worried about my friends, my grandfather, myself. Worried about where I'm going to live in a few weeks. Worried about making new friends. Worried about finding the proper doctors. Just so damned worried.
I haven't been to the gym all week and I've been wide awake every morning at 4 am PST staring at my boyfriend (creepy but whatever) and ceiling.
Then just a few minutes ago, on Facebook, I read a status by a friend. She's not afraid to speak her truth and she's not afraid to keep it real. Most importantly, she's got some real shit to be stressed about. That's when it realized, I'm going to be okay. Why? Because she's okay even with what she has going on.
Stress is relative, that I know but every once in awhile, take a second and ask yourself, "is this really that bad?". I bet 9/10 it's not.
What do you think?
