I think you’re right!! A fishing spider?! Wonder why he wants to live in my window. I do live near the river. Thank goodness, people tried to convince me he was a brown recluse. Not fun.

I think the males prefer land though I'm not sure. I know they're much smaller than females. Best way to tell if it's a recluse is the number of eyes. They'll have six.

Anyone have any idea what this guy might be? Was about 3-3.5" diagonal leg span. Found it last year and completely forgot about it took looking through one photos on my phone.

I live in SE Pennsylvania and it was found in a web by my cellar door (someone walked through it and I moved the spider to the outside of our shed so it wouldn’t get stepped on)

I found this guy in the southeastern US, and it was around an inch long. Any idea what it could be?

Most spider identification is based on eye pattern so without a clearer picture, I can’t be certain but it looks like a member of the family Agelenidae.  Did it have long spinnerets?  Because that’s an almost defining characteristic of that group.  Anyone else have a better guess?

morguemouth submitted: Could you identify this precious sperdoople for me please? She was caught ziplining down from my parents ceiling in North Alabama. She’s a kinda lightish yellow with dark brown stripes on her legs, and her head is bright orange and she seems to have very long fangs that are the same bright orange. I’ve never seen any like her around here before.

It’s a tetragnatha or a long jawed orbweaver. It looks like a male judging form the pedipalps. I don’t know the species though. The only greenish tetragnatha that I can think of is tetragnatha viridis.
