Sometimes I’m unsure of whether or not you looking at me is an indication of anything out of the ordinary. I’m not sure whether the quick glance means anything. Perhaps, I tell myself, I am looking too deeply into the quirk of an eyebrow or the slight upturn of your lips.

And then there are other days when I see your eyes light up at the sight of me. I see you get flustered when I wink at you. I see your pupils dilate when I say something to you, the haziness of your gaze affirming more than just a casual interest, and I know that there’s more there than I often allow myself to believe. You may not tell me very often what you feel, but your eyes give away everything you’re not always willing to say.
