Fairy Tail: Romeo Conbolt (INFP)

For INFPs the dominant quality in their lives is a deep-felt caring and idealism about people. They experience this intense caring most often in their relationships with others, but they may also experience it around ideas, projects, or any involvement they see as important. INFPs are often skilled communicators, and they are naturally drawn to ideas that embody a concern for human potential. INFPs live in the inner world of values and ideals, but what people often first encounter with the INFP in the outer world is their adaptability and concern for possibilities

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Throughout the seven year gap during which the entirety of Fairy Tail’s core members went missing, Romeo ceased to smile until they returned. Romeo holds some contempt toward his father and the rest of the ‘left behind’ Fairy Tail members for allowing Twilight Ogre to bully them. Being a good deal younger than most of the guild, Romeo is very emotionally genuine. He makes his anger at Michelle for betraying the guild clear, and does not forgive her until her demise. He makes no attempt to hide his true feelings on a matter, often resulting in quarrels with his father.

Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Romeo isn’t one to follow the crowd, especially as Fairy Tail fell down it’s downward spiral. He took lessons from former villain Totomaru to learn various Fire Magics. He is able to keep track of and conjure various types of flame, a red one like Natsu’s, a purple one like Macao’s, and even a yellow, smelly one. He doesn’t like to stray one simple way. When Natsu and the rest return, he wants nothing more than to make up for time lost. He wants to join every adventure and tag along for every journey, much to his father’s dismay.

Introverted Sensing (Si): Romeo learned his fire attacks in order to be more like his ‘big brother’ Natsu. He idolizes Natsu, and is only truly happy when he’s around. He isn’t able to bring himself to smile until after he and the others return from their seven year slumber. While Natsu is gone, Romeo looks to keep his memory alive. He knows Natsu would never allow other guilds to push Fairy Tail around, which is why he grows to resent the older, less powerful generation of Fairy Tail he grew up in.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): Romeo adapted Natsu’s headstrong nature especially in the field of battle. Keeping the hot head’s example in mind, he likes to run into battle with everything he’s got. He steps up to Twilight Ogre when they arrive for more money, and joined Natsu to find Lucy’s clock pieces against his father’s wishes. However, he’s still mastering his magic, and this habit or rushing into conflict has caused him to land in hot water more than once.

Attack on Titan: Mikasa Ackerman (ISTJ)

For ISTJs the dominant quality in their lives is an abiding sense of responsibility for doing what needs to be done in the here-and-now. Their realism, organizing abilities, and command of the facts lead to their completing tasks thoroughly and with great attention to detail. Logical pragmatists at heart, ISTJs make decisions based on their experience and with an eye to efficiency in all things. ISTJs are intensely committed to people and to the organizations of which they are a part; they take their work seriously and believe others should do so as well.

Introverted Sensing (Si): Attentive to detail, Mikasa is able to figure out how to move without difficulty in the 3DMG rather quickly. She then proceeds by helping Eren out by explaining that he should follow “the basic steps”, as well as how she herself figured out how to do it without falling down. Her memories related to when Eren rescued her from the kidnappers are very dear to her, and the very reason why Mikasa realized that she simply couldn’t surrender herself to a Titan when she believed her foster brother to be dead was because she wanted to be able to at least remember him. Her main goal throughout the series and manga (besides protecting Eren) is to help defeat the Titans so that she, Eren and Armin can live a peaceful life on a farm similar to the one she used to live at as a child. It takes her quite some time before she begins to trust and respect Levi after he kicked Eren in the courtroom, and she holds a grudge against him for a long time before realizing that it wasn’t Levi’s own fault.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Mikasa isn’t afraid to be blunt when she has to be. She threatens Dimo Reeves without hesitation as he’s blocking a gate with a bandwagon full of goods, preventing people from getting in and thus fleeing from the Titans. When gathering knowledge about something, she knows which information is important and which information she doesn’t have to remember in order to survive or succeed with what it is she’s doing. A natural leader, Mikasa is able to give orders to her comrades when she needs to. When she finds out that Eren is assumed dead, she talks about her own strength and defeating the Titans in a rather blunt way before seemingly abandoning her comrades on the roof they’re gathered at in order to kill Titans on her own.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Though it’s clear from the start that Mikasa has great internal emotions, we hardly ever see them out in the open. It’s primarily her concern about Eren that’s visible to both her and those around her. However, she doesn’t hide the fact that she dislikes Levi whenever he’s around (before letting go of her grudge), and she even tells Eren that Levi went too far in the courtroom and that he’s going to regret it. Mikasa prefers to show her internal emotions through immediate actions rather than sharing them, and never even thinks about letting go of her own principles and morals for anything. She’s willing to do anything in order to keep Eren safe, following his decision to join the Survey Corps so they won’t be separated. The only times we see her openly cry in the anime is when she sees Eren alive, holding him in her arms after hearing his heartbeat, as well as when he says they should go home as children after the rescue (she also does this in chapter 50 in the manga).

Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Though it can sometimes take a while, Mikasa is able to see connections in abstract theories as well as tangible objects. She has no problem viewing things from several perspectives, that is when he Fi isn’t violated or threatened. Though she longs to work in order to get the future she wants to have, the situation she’s in demands her to stay in the present at nearly all times.

Attack on Titan: Armin Arlert (INTJ)

For INTJs the dominant force in their lives is their attention to the inner world of possibilities, symbols, abstractions, images, and thoughts. Insight in conjunction with logical analysis is the essence of their approach to the world; they think systemically. Ideas are the substance of life for INTJs and they have a driving need to understand, to know, and to demonstrate competence in their areas of interest. INTJs inherently trust their insights, and with their task-orientation will work intensely to make their visions into realities.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Armin is always thinking about how he can change things for the better of mankind. He is able to see through lies and is in an excellent schemer, piecing together the information regarding the Female Titan before many others. He has a clear vision and he has no qualms in believing that humanity’s future lies outside the walls, frequently reminding Eren of their shared goal.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Armin has even stated himself that he makes up many of his plans as he is explaining them, which is very Te. His logic is always sound and he is not afraid to go against the flow to state what he knows is right, such as when is he being beaten up in the first episode. He is also very level-headed, talking both Mikasa and Eren out of making rash decisions.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Armin often blames himself for the deaths of his comrades (particularly in the Battle for Trost, where he is unable to function for a while after the loss of his squad). He usually however does not let his emotions cloud his judgement.

Extroverted Sensing (Se): Armin is able to react quickly to what is going on around him, and notice key details in his environment.

NOTE: You could probably make a good case for INTP, INFJ or even INFP. But to me Armin is ultimately a strategist, and as he grows in confidence throughout the anime and the manga his Ni and Te develop further.

Attack on Titan: Eren Jaeger (ESFP)

For ESFPs the dominant quality in their lives is their enthusiastic attention to the outer world of hands-on and real-life experiences. ESFPs are excited by continuous involvement in new activities and new relationships. ESFPs also have a deep concern for people, and they show their caring in warm and pragmatic gestures of helping. ESFPs are typically energetic and adaptable realists, who prefer to experience and accept life rather than to judge or organize it.

Extroverted Sensing (Se): Eren lives in the moment, he is impulsive and has an intense desire to see the outside world for himself. He despises the fact humanity are caged in like cattle. Eren is also an adept fighter, particularly in hand-to-hand combat and easily takes down foes much bigger than him. He is quick to react with the appearance of the Colossal Titan and is the only cadet to engage with it. It is also well known that he has a lack of self-restraint and cares little for the consequences that may occur through his actions.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Eren tends to be quite an emotional person; he cares deeply for Armin and Mikasa, even as a child, giving Mikasa his scarf to keep her warm. Eren is very distressed when other members of his squad are killed or eaten, often blaming himself for their deaths. He also easily takes offence when anyone disrespects his friends or ideals.

Extroverted Thinking (Te): Although his thought process is not always highly logical, Eren isn’t afraid of taking control of a situation when necessary. He understands the logic behind Levi’s actions in court and is interested in hearing Hange’s theories behind the titans.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Eren has a specific goal in mind: to kill all the titans and to see the outside world. He is dead set on this, even if it means risking his life.

Fairy Tail: Gajeel Redfox (ISFP)

For ISFPs the dominant quality in their lives is a deep-felt caring for living things, combined with a quietly playful and sometimes adventurous approach to life and all its experiences. ISFPs typically show their caring in very practical ways, since they often prefer action to words. Their warmth and concern are generally not expressed openly, and what people often first encounter with ISFPs is their quiet adaptability, realism, and “free spirit” spontaneity.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Gajeel has an unhealthy Fi. He is often full of feelings of contempt and entitlement. He’s usually in a cynical mood, and fails to emulate the enthusiasm of his guildmates quite often. When Wendy and Carla arrive in the guild, his initial reaction is one of envy, feeling that as a Dragon Slayer, he deserves a ‘flying kitty-cat’ just like Natsu and Wendy. When he meets Panther Lily, he’s overjoyed to have a cat of his own, feeling equal to Natsu and Wendy in that respect. He’s convinced to join Fairy Tail by the inspiring words of Makarov alone—despite his reluctance he was able to make a new life and friends.

Extraverted Sensing (Se): Gajeel is an opportunity, highly aware of his surroundings and quick on his feet to take advantage of them. He’s a difficult opponent in battle, acting as Phantom Lord’s ‘secret weapon’ before he reforms. Gajeel, as the Steel Dragon Slayer, eats large scraps of metal and steel and hates being interrupted when he’s eating. This, combined with his occasional fantasizing of steel snacks during missions displays his indulgence in sensory pleasure. Despite his somewhat reclusive nature, Gajeel sometimes likes to be the center of attention, jumping on stage while singing and strumming a guitar on some occasion.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Gajeel wants little more than to fight strong opponents. This is very wholly the reason he volunteered to be Levy’s partner in the S-Class Promotion Trial. Gajeel managed to irritate Levy to no end with his fascination and narrow minded goals of fighting. Gajeel does, however, have a very relaxed, unmotivated nature. His lack of the same drive that Natsu and Wendy have to find living dragons (let alone the ones that raised them) shows that this function is underdeveloped.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): Gajeel does what he has to in order to survive. He gladly accepts the position as Makarov’s double agent, infiltrating Ivan’s forces, and mostly works only when he must for money. His opportunistic nature and ‘my way or the highway’ attitude make him a highly efficient carrier of tasks. If he wants something done a certain way, he’ll do it himself, whether it’s investigating Edolas when he arrives with little info from Mystogen, or searching for a cat to call his own.

Fairy Tail: Erza Scarlet (ESTJ)

For ESTJs the driving force in their lives is their need to analyze and bring into logical order the outer world of events, people, and things. ESTJs like to organize anything that comes into their domain, and they will work energetically to complete tasks so they can quickly move from one to the next. Sensing orients their thinking to current facts and realities, and thus gives their thinking a pragmatic quality. ESTJs take their responsibilities seriously and believe others should do so as well.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): Erza is a very strict, controlling, and critical person, often criticizing the bad behavior and habits of the other guild members. She values maintaining the Magic Council’s and Fairy Tail’s rules and requires her teammates to also adhere to these standards. (i.e. when Natsu, Lucy, and Happy went on a S-class mission.) Erza is impatient, disliking people who don’t answer her questions fast enough. She can quickly make effective plans and can calmly manage crisis situations.

Introverted Sensing (Si): Erza lives in the present and her past is an important part to her development. She recalls memories of being enslaved by a Dark Mage cult and forced to build the Tower of Heaven. Gellal inspires Erza to stage a revolt against their captors, and they successfully win. She has a strong desire to protect her comrades ever since revolting and saving her friends from the Dark Mage cult.

Extraverted Intuition (Ne): As a Requip user, Erza has many weapons and armors. Erza has stated that she is able to equip and wield over 200 swords at one time. She has also stated that she owns over 100 different types of armor. She uses her intuition to decide which armor would be best to use against her opponents.

Introverted Feeling (Fi):"Feelings can be controlled, but tears never lie.” Erza is not comfortable dwelling on her emotions as she finds it easier to adopt a moral code and stick to it without fail. She believes that her values are right for others and uses her extraverted thinking establish authority.

Fairy Tail: Elfman Strauss (ISTJ)

Introverted Sensing (Si): Elfman is a strong believer in keeping promises and status quo. While this can cause him to be a bit hard headed, it makes also makes him all the more loyal and dependable. He made a promise to his sister, Mira, that he would punish anyone that dared make her cry, which he does in his battle with Sol. Elfman is very quick to recall details, able to adapt his strategies for his battle with Rustyrose and recall many of Mira’s techniques in battle alongside her. Elfman filters things in his mind, and tends to stay within his comfort zone. When Lisanna volunteers to partner with Juvia in the S-Class Promotion Trial, he grows extremely anxious over the matter of picking a new partner. When Evergreen is injured during said trial, he beats himself up, seeing it as his duty to keep his partner safe.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): Ever the ‘man’s man’, Elfman can almost always be seen rushing head first into battle, believing that any problem can be solved with a strong fist. It doesn’t take him much time to decide to rush into battle with Phantom Lord to save Mira, or to hunt down the Thunder Legion during the battle of Fairy Tail. Elfman is a team player of the highest degree, he almost always wants to join someone else on their mission if he feels he is needed, and cooperates incredibly well with his sisters.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Elfman’s bond with his sisters is a strong one, and what drives a majority of his emotion. If either one is in danger or upset, he is immediately set off and ready to rectify it. When his siblings aren’t involved, Elfman is often hard to read. He’ll usually tell a complaining or upset guildmate to ‘man up’ or handle things the ‘manly’ way. Though not utterly cold or unsympathetic, he isn’t the type that will offer his shoulder to cry on. He usually filters things through a duology of ‘manly’ and otherwise, and judge things on that.

Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Elfman isn’t the type to let limitations keep him down. When he finds he cannot remain under his own control during one of his fullbody takeovers, he adapts to a simple right arm transformation. On the fly he can be very creative. He and Evergreen had to hatch several new ideas and plots to hold their own against the highly formidable likes of Rustyrose.

Fairy Tail: Makarov Dreyar (ENTP)

For ENTPs the driving quality in their lives is their attention to the outer world of possibilities; they are excited by continuous involvement in anything new, whether it be new ideas, new people, or new activities. They look for patterns and meaning in the world, and they often have a deep need to analyze, to understand, and to know the nature of things. ENTPs are typically energetic, enthusiastic people who lead spontaneous and adaptable lives.

Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Makarov makes the most fun that he can out of being Fairy Tail’s guild master. Creative and inventive, Makarov is always cooking up new ideas and games to entertain and train his ‘children’ with. Whether it’s the annual 24-Hour Running Race or the Ms. Fairy Tail Pageant, Makarov is just as much about play as he is work. Makarov is very much a ‘out of the box’ thinker. He has no qualm against breaking the rules or coloring outside the lines as a means to an end he sees as right. Makarov is an unpredictable man, who would just as soon slam an enemy to the pavement as he would smile and wish them a happy journey home after he wins.

Introverted Thinking (Ti): For Makarov, there is rarely a one step plan. He goes about things very carefully, and will far more quickly look than leap. When Phantom Lord attacks his guild hall, his initial order is for the guild members to hide—he doesn’t take actual action until after a direct attack on Levy, Jet, and Droy. Rather than risk mass destruction by the combined might of Fairy Law and Grimoire Law, Makarov settles down and deals with the newly arrived Hades on a smaller scale. Makarov rarely thinks out loud or lets anyone else in one his thought process, adding to his somewhat enigmatic, spontaneous nature.

Extraverted Feeling (Fe): Even after the most brutal of fights and conflicts, Makarov would much rather make friends than enemies. He goes and talks to Gajeel and convinces him to join Fairy Tail after the war with Phantom Lord, sympathizing with Gajeel and thinking he could be truly good under the right tutelage. He forms strong bonds with all of the Guild Members, calling them his ‘children’, and is nothing short of outraged if they are put in harm’s way.

Introverted Sensing (Si): Makarov harbors a great deal of sentimentality for his memories with Laxus, and truly wishes things between them could have gone another way. He makes the widely recognized Fairy Tail symbol a single finger pointed to the sky, a symbol that Laxus made up as a child so neither would lose the other. As much as he may stretch the rules himself, Makarov is very strict to make sure his ‘children’ don’t make the same mistakes he does, and very strictly enforces the rules regarding them.

Fairy Tail: Mirajane Strauss (ESFJ)

For ESFJs the dominant quality in their lives is an active and intense caring about people and a strong desire to bring harmony into their relationships. ESFJs bring an aura of warmth to all that they do, and they naturally move into action to help others, to organize the world around them, and to get things done. Sensing orients their feeling to current facts and realities, and thus gives their feeling a hands-on pragmatic quality. ESFJs take their work seriously and believe others should as well.

Extraverted Feeling (Fe): The affectionate ‘mom’ of the Fairy Tail guild, Mira loves making others smile and serving her guildmates drinks and food. Always showing a strong emotion on her face, smiling, crying, or even enraged, Mira is an open book. She’s never too busy to ask her friends what’s bothering them and try to offer her own two cents. Even when everyone else in the guild is roughhousing and fighting, Mira remains unphased and is ready to greet her friends with a pleasant face. She doesn’t care much for fighting, despite how incredibly powerful she is, Mira prefers to stay on the sidelines and remain a pacifist, rarely provoked to go all out in her ‘She-Devil’ form unless provoked.

Introverted Sensing (Si): Mira used to be rowdy and rather mean, until the apparent death of her sister softened her and sensitized her to the effects of violence. Since then she’s been highly protective of her brother, she would hate to go through the loss of another sibling, or allow Elfman to go through the same. When Elfman is in danger, in the clutches of Sol as well as Fried, she is moved to tears and, in the case of the latter, is prompted to fight in her She-Devil form. All in all, Mira prefers a relaxed life and routine, which is why she generally isn’t in action as often as the other wizards of Fairy Tail.

Extraverted Intuition (Ne): Though Mira likes to give advice, it isn’t always desirable given her somewhat misguided viewpoints. She jumps to very inaccurate conclusions, causing others to often paint her with a ditzy image. Her naive views cause Lucy anxiety over the possibility that Natsu is in love with her (when in reality, Natsu just wanted to show her some treasure he found). Mira enters the Miss Fairy Tail beauty contest and, for the fashion segment, steps outside the status quo by showing off various shape shifting rather than do something as traditional as the rest of the contestants.

Introverted Thinking (Ti): As an S-Class wizard, Mira can be a great strategist when the situation calls for it. However, since Lisanna’s pseudo-death, she hasn’t been on many missions and hasn’t been exercising this function. While she can come off as an airhead during recreational time, she’s a beast on the battlefield, and paired with her incredible power is an incredible strategic mind, able to hold her own with the incredibly formidable Fried.

Fairy Tail: Happy (ESFP)

Extraverted Sensing (Se): Chief among Happy’s traits is his fixation on his favorite food; fish. He’s almost always thinking about fish, eating fish, giving fish to others, or looking for an excuse to talk about fish—demonstrating how consumed he is by his sensory pleasures. Happy enjoys flying, he clearly gets a rush from physical activity and adventure. Happy is always living in the moment. He’s seldom consumed by the past or potential future. He disregards the ‘maybe’s’ and ‘what if’s of life, what matters is being a Fairy Tail wizard here and now.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Happy seldom cares how anyone else feels, and can be rather reckless with his words. He rarely takes time to read facial expressions, and more often than not, throws caution to the wind to shoot his mouth off and speak his mind, despite potential consequences. Though he rarely intends malice aside slight teasing, he has a habit for blurting out inconvenient truths. It was he that told Juvia that the alternate Gray from Edolas was in love with her, and one of his favorite jokes is poking fun at potential couples he thinks ‘love each other’. Happy rarely takes situations in an overly serious way. Even in the most stressful situations in which his peers are immensely tense, he’s smiling.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): Happy cares a great deal for signifiers of value. He hates being discounted or forgotten, and wants to be acknowledged as a Fairy Tail wizard and not just a cat. Happy usually acts before thinking, rushing into situations be it in action or in words. He’s unafraid to fight against Phantom Lord with his own special ‘magic’, or stand up for Carla, who was clearly upset by the words of the Exceeds upon their arrival in Edolas.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Happy is Natsu’s pet (for all intents and purposes) and wants to join him on every journey he takes. Aside from that, very little is on Happy’s mind aside from fish. When he isn’t embarrassing Lucy or trying to impress Carla, Happy only cares about being Natsu’s right hand.

Fairy Tail: Gray Fullbuster (ISTJ)

Introverted Sensing (Si): Gray’s master in Icemake Magic, Ur, required him to strip his clothes before practicing, which developed into a bad habit that causes Gray to remove his clothes whenever he’s hyped up or excited. His past dispositions have a heavy impact on him. He takes many teachings from Ur, and holds her mantras very closely. He’s very good at recalling details from memory in a heated battle—able to recall Wendy’s disgust of pickled plums when he faced her in the S-Class Trials, for instance. He overly aware of his surroundings, also evidenced by his absent minded removal of his clothes. Extraverted Thinking (Te): Gray works to an effect of getting a result however he has to. When Natsu, Lucy, and Happy go off on an S-Class Mission, he is sent to retrieve them, only to end up joining them on the mission, simply changing his mind after the ordeal. He carries out his plans and ideas with vigor, acting somewhat deceptively to try and make Natsu live up to a promise he made to a cursed village. Introverted Feeling (Fi): Gray has a strong moral code, usually backed by the philosophies of his teacher, Ur. He spares the life of Juvia when they fought for the first time, despite her being a Dark Guild member at the time. Gray is usually hard to read emotionally, often keeping a sardonic, aloof expression unless the situation is particularly tense or stressful. Extraverted Intuition (Ne): As a user of Icemake Magic, Gray has to act very creatively and think on his feet to create the right weapon. He has the idealism to create an exact replica of the Dragon Chain Cannon’s key, and usually talks with a sharp wit that he uses to poke fun at his peers, especially Natsu.

Fairy Tail: Lucy Heartfilia [ENFJ]

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Being a celestial wizard, Lucy has an entire slew of Celestial Spirits to keep up contracts with and satisfy. Lucy is very kind to her Celestial Spirits and refuses to utilize them as mere tools and objects. She fights alongside her Spirits and treats them as friends. She has a penchant for helping those in need; volunteering to be Cana’s partner in the S-Class Wizard Trials with vigor when it becomes clear how important it is to her. Her emotions are very easy to read and often over the top. One can easily tell if she is pleased or upset by something. When something is wrong or offbeat about someone in the guild, Lucy is often the first to notice. She’s very good at reading emotions and very commonly wishes to help.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Lucy knows precisely what she wants out of life; to be free of her father’s influence and to live in a magical guild; namely Fairy Tail. The idea of this ideal shattering is enough to move her to tears. The idea of Phantom Lord destroying Fairy Tail massively motivated her to not only take action, but confront her father once and for all. She is also set on collecting the keys of the Celestial Spirits she summons, and gains great satisfaction from attaining a new one.

Extroverted Sensing (Se): Lucy has great skill in quickly scanning a situation and precisely deciding which of the Celestial Spirits at her disposal is best for this situation. Lucy isn’t overly fond of undesired attention, but when she has to, she enjoys showing off her looks and clothes (usually as an ends to a mean, such as seducing Hughes or entering the Miss Fairy Tail contest for rent money).

Introverted Thinking (Ti): While Lucy does have a tendency to crack under pressure, she shows some development in this function with her investigation skills. It only takes a few clues for her to find out that Loke is the Celestial Spirit Leo, and uses her recognition of people and merchandise from her favorite magazine, Sorcerer Monthly, to her advantage. When there isn’t an awful amount of stimuli and she can focus, she’s quite good at piecing information together.

Extraverted Sensing (Se): Natsu is carefree and reckless. He is a massive adrenaline junky, and adores the rush he gets from a good fight. He’s a very strong fighter, among some of the strongest wizards in Fairy Tail, and able to hold his own with S-Class wizards such as Gildarts and Laxus. Natsu has to eat fire to replenish his energy, and loves it’s taste. He is somewhat indulgent in sensory pleasures. Natsu has a straightforward mind, and often tackles issues with a "hands on" approach. Natsu is always living in the moment and making the most of the time he has with his friends, not really one to worry about what’s ahead.

Introverted Feeling (Fi): Natsu is a fiercely loyal and protective friend who is willing to go down fighting for his friends, regardless of how futile it might seem.. He’s somewhat self-absorbed in his emotions, usually feeling how he pleases despite objections from the higher power. Although he very rarely shows sadness outside of his fiery temper, he has his triggers. When Lucy casually comments on what a bad parent he’d make, he acts very despondent quite suddenly, largely out of reminding him of Lissanna.

Extraverted Thinking (Te): Natsu is incredibly headstrong, and usually rushes headfirst into situations, preferring to act now and think later. He’s all about teamwork, and hates to do jobs alone, even if he can simply bring Happy. When Lucy passes up a job with him to go on a date, he’s immensely disappointed. Natsu's love of fighting has allowed him to develop a rather strategic mind allowing him to find weaknesses in his opponent's techniques, or simply weaknesses his opponents themselves possess.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): While his lack of future planning and how easily he is distracted displays an underdeveloped function, Natsu harbors a strong desire to reunite with the dragon that raised him, Igneel. If there is evidence that may lead to his location, he rushes to find it. Though it doesn’t consume him, when the subject is relevant, Natsu is all ears.
