Fic idea: Himeko sick with a fever on the Express, trying desperately to hide it so she can continue Navigation duties (and also because she refuses to let herself get sick again), stumbling her way through the carriages until Welt spots her and forces her into bed.
Cue papa Welt moment where Himeko is deliriously clinging onto his sleeve and begging him not to leave ('dad, don't leave me again...!') and Welt is instantly thrown back to another age, another lifetime, another Himeko, and for a second they're both just sitting there and seeing the wrong person...
...but Welt still sits down and smooths the sticky hair from her brow and puts a cold flannel to her forehead and tells her stories of his hometown to soothe her to sleep. Even if it's not his Himeko, it's still Himeko nonetheless.
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT CLIFFHANGER.
