Issac is an abrasive kid. He'll call you an idiot to your face, immediately try to solve problems with violence, and smack you with a book all in the same day. But he's till aid, he still want love and acceptance. He just doesn't understand that yet.
BEHAVIOR:
The kid is a softer Damian Wayne. Not exactly an ex-assassin, but definitely meaner then he needs to be and will hurt you before you hurt him.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
he is visibly a sickly kid. He is bony and scrawny, shorter than average, and his hair is thin and greasy.
Likes: having fun, daydreaming, journaling, doodling, motherly affection
Lyra tries to appear scary but she's a big softie. She's still learning how to kick ass. But she'll be so proud of herself when she figures out. She likes to act mature but of course, everyone reads her true personality easily.
BEHAVIOR:
Lyra reads like a completely normal teen. A little stuck up and way too curious. She's kind and empathetic always willing to lend a hand but not willing to ask for it.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
She's a tall girl, at exactly 6'. Her skin is tan and she put pink highlights in her black hair. Her eyes are dark green and she has a few moles/beauty marks.
Likes: pink and black as a color combo, being perceived as mature, making up new spells
Dislikes: Groups of teenagers, bullies, looking at her torso, fake people
He believes that full control over one's life is only possible by lessening the control others have on their own. He seeks to know about everyone so he can talk them into submission when the time comes. Sometimes he'll say out-of-pocket things to gauge a reaction and then of course he'll apologize and use their reaction to figure out the best course of action to take to make the person forgive him. He's very perceptive of people and emotions. His personality undergoes slight changes depending on who he's speaking with. In his first appearance, he will be very dignified. With Eden, he seems like an annoying brother type, etc
BEHAVIOR:
The core of his behavior is trying to avoid being hurt. he'd do anything, hurt anyone, break up any friendship to avoid being hurt or victimized again. And he does it all with a sneaky smile on his face.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
He's 5'10 and slim/willowy. His ears are pointy and elf-like. His nose is large and Grecian. He pulls back his hair into a low ponytail before any physically taxing activities.
Likes: Honest people, being nosy, fashion,
Dislikes: Knowles Greenhart, liars & cheaters, people dying, helplessness
Iris is a kind and an overall good person. Iris is the happy sunshine character. The is despite there being a literal child in the group. She has the brightest (and whitest) aura Kit has ever seen. Everything about her screams good person. Her main flaw is subservience. She is also avoidant of responsibility. She never seems to take it even when she should.
BEHAVIOR:
Iris behaves in a way that makes people happy. She has a deep desire to connect with people and it's her main driving force.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
Albino except for her deep green eyes, for story reasons. She's only 5'2, which makes her the shortest adult. She has a willowy build and likes flowy clothes, so typically dresses and skirts.
Likes: Being a team player, socializing, the arts, dreaming
Dislikes: Responsibility, feeling trapped
Cabinet Position: The Representative of the Enchanted
Stine doesn't really know who he is. His whole identities rooted in taking care of his sister because he sees her more as his own daughter. It's been so long that he forgot what he liked. Stine appears closed-off and emotionless most of the time. He's not.
BEHAVIOR:
Stine seems kind of like a robot. He speaks robotically, is overly proper and expressionless. Disciplined yet withdrawn.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
Male version of Celeste. Tall, kind of messy black hair, brown eyes, chest and sternum tattoos. He's 6'5 which puts him as the second tallest after Kit.
Likes: taking care of people, having good moments with his sister, drugs
Dislikes: things being imperfect, his parents, missing the joke (this happens often), drugs
Eden seems like a very cool guy on the big screen, in the arena or on his patented cereal Eden Flakes. He's a little different when the cameras are off. A little mean, a lot condescending. His personality is different depending on who he's with. I'm not sure he even knows who he is.
BEHAVIOR:
He bases his behavior on how he analyzes the person he's speaking to. He'll be really kind to people he respects and not kind to people he doesn't he's not afraid to admit that fact to people he doesn't like. The castle sets him off because he's with a bunch of strangers He takes solace in the idea that he's stronger than them.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
He has a sort of idealized aristocratic look. Defined jawline high cheekbones. Golden hair and piercing blue eyes. He's 5'11 and has a litter of small scars over his body. He stands up absolutely straight at all times.
Likes: Fighting, The company of respectable people, honest appreciation of him
Dislikes: Being called handsome or pretty, knives, being alone
To most, Celeste seems like a whimsical woman, the most manic pixie dream girl of the bunch. She is in fact very meticulous in how she presents herself. From how she places her trademark red flower crown in her hair to her response to every question.
BEHAVIOR:
Celeste is primarily and observer but she can sprint into action with a bit of time to plan. She seems kind of manic-pixie- dream-girl-ish to other people but she's not
MOTIVATION:
Celeste's main motivation in life is to stand out. She's crafted an appearance and personality for herself so she can feel special, and worthy of love and acceptance. She wants her own friends, a lover, and people around who respect her and will not leave her for someone better.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
She's kind of tall, at around 5'8. Ramrod strat posture, High ponytail that swings when she walks. Her skin is lightly tanned at the moment, and she has regular brown eyes. She likes to dress in trending fashion and colorful clothes.
Likes: dressing up, the color red, being the center of attention
Dislikes: Her family, being compared to anyone but especially Stine
Kit is the type of person who needs to be in charge of everything always. He's good at it which is why people are okay giving him the role but he has a tendency to push his need for perfection and fear of failure not others. He's incredibly responsible but equally controlling
BEHAVIOR:
Kit is the type of person to volunteer himself no matter what's going on. He'll tackle any responsibility or leadership role you give him. He's been left behind before, it won't happen again
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
Kit is a tall, well-built man which is not the norm for mages. He's 6'7 and has a build kind of like Jason Todd. This is important to him because it makes it easier to command a room with his presence. He has a very slight farmer's tan on his body from all the time in the sun training his abilities. His hands are calloused
Likes: Playing with fire, being a leader, competition
Dislikes: Nadira, being a follower, being alone, distant or judgemental people
She's complicated. Her past has made her resourceful, passionate, adaptable, protective, and disciplined. She has all the ability to become a leader and is good at making decisions, but is afraid to make them for other people because of her fear of being in charge of someone's life. She doesn't want to take the leadership role. She's there to find out more about the Archmage. She's quite street-smart from her time on the streets and is fully capable of making decisions for herself. But if she's aware that someone might die if she makes a wrong choice she short-circuits.
BEHAVIOR:
From the outside looking in Nadira is unremarkable, she's a follower who just parrots the popular opinion. Inside you find out she's avoidant, incredibly smart, and adaptable, and while not able to take care of others, she has no problems taking care of herself.
PHYSICAL DETAILS
She's 5'9 with proper posture most of the time but she curves her back to appear smaller. She has a few freckles and a faded scar across her face. Her hair is loc'd and dyed purple to match her eyes. She puts it up in a bun or ponytail. She likes to change her style frequently. Loves black, and wears clothes that hang off the skin Can be seen wearing a small pearl necklace and earrings a lot. She has some small tattoos.
Likes: Purple, techwear, Sharpshooting, reading, detective work
For many reasons, Michi is incredibly suspicious of everything. She drives people away with her confrontational and paranoid attitude. Really, it’s almost like she lacked socialization as a child or something.
Age: 21
PERSONALITY:
Michaela is honest and confrontational. She won't back down from any challenge and is openly suspicious of the Cabinet job. She struggles with socializing due to her ASD and lack of true socialization as a child. She gets along extremely well with Iris whose seemingly unable to lie.
BEHAVIOR:
Her character is obvious from the jump. She's suspicious and paranoid. But it's deeper than that. Michi, despite her closed-off nature, is a deeply passionate person who is creative and desires connection. Her circumstances have driven her to stop trusting anyone. She can't help but be terrified of the [redacted] that's trying to [redacted'. She knows she'll never be able to tell anyone about this, meaning no one can understand her emotions and behavior. This makes her defensive, shutting people out before they can leave her. Some traits hinting at her ASD I plan to add are: avoiding certain textures, preferring long nails for the sensation, constant and repetitive movement, and aversion to touch.
PHYSICAL DETAILS:
She has a slight hunch to her back and freckles across her nose. She's in the 5'5-5'7 range I cant decide.
She wears red lipstick, it is one of her ways of reclaiming her independence since [redacted] did not allow anyone to wear red. Her hair is naturally kinky but she puts it into more wavy curls to be less recognizable. She has long sharp nails with adornments on them because it drives her nuts if they're short. Her fingertips feel exposed and sensitive without long nails. The fingernails also help her touch things without feeling them. She enjoys turtlenecks and long patterned cardigans. Every day she wears a bird-like head accessory for symbolic reasons She has two dermal piercings under her left eye and a lip piercing on the right side of her lower lip
Likes: Caution, Independence, Red lipstick, long nails, hand jewelry, art
Dislikes: Liars, Large groups of people, Being completely alone
To say those words shook her to the core would be an understatement. Never in her life had she imagined coming face to face with that man. For him to recommend her, he had to know about her prior unsavory activity. It was disturbing to think about. When exactly did he catch on?
What makes it worse was that Aurora Brightweaver was one of the few Mages to have mastered teleportation. It was a miraculous display of talent, but not one that made things any easier for Nadira. They were sudddenly and violently transported into a strange room. *spoiler*. In one word, it was creepy. Nadira prided herself on not scaring easily. Yet even she found herself just disconcerted.
“I’m going to leave this one in your hands. Don’t scare her off Blackwell, you're the one who wanted her here.” Brightwweaver said, a strange emotion in her voice that Nadira couldn’t place.
With that the only comforting presence in the strange room teleported out of sight, leaving Nadira alone with someone she never wanted to be alone with. He looked her up and down in the same examining manner as Brightweaver. It wasn’t malicious, or goddess forbid, lecherous. But, it was uncomfortable. Brightweaver had been looking at her. Blackwell? He was looking through her. He said not a word, simply handing her a full venetian face mask.
“Do you think this is strange?” Blackwell said. “A criminal becoming an enforcer of justice.”
Nadira tried very hard to keep her emotions off her face. “I’ll admit that I find it ironic. I was wondering if this was all some elaborate stunt to trick me into a jail cell.”
“Trust that I don’t need any tricks to get you into a jail cell. Or I wouldn’t have, seeing as I’m officially out of a job.” Blackwell sighed, seeming slightly more human than a minute ago. Nadira took a second to appraise him. He was clearly aged, wrinkles of all sorts were etched onto a weary face. His figure was lean and wiry. Which for anyone but a mage would make him an easy target. Looks could be deceiving. She let herself question what brought him to this state. Had the decades of locking mages in that fly away prison of his weighed on him?
Would it weigh that heavily on her?
“I believe as much. Which makes me all the more curious. Forgive me, but the rumors say that you never let a criminal go.” For anyone looking on the outside, she would appear to be confident. Blackwell didn’t seem intimidated in the slightest, but intimidating him would be a dumb thing to try. Nadira just had to create an unbothered image. She would take advantage of the opportunity granted to her. Even if it was a truly terrible oppurtunity.
“The rumors are just rumors. I’ll teach you the power of those another time.” Blackwell chuckled, but it wasn’t a lighthearted one. No, it was the chuckle of a man who was not smiling on the inside. When Nadira didn’t respond Blackwell continued. “I’m sure you’re wondering what the mask is for. I’ll answer your question. You’re about to mingle with your fellow cabinet members for the first time. We found that it would be best if you could talk without discerning your faces.”
That was curious. What would be the trouble in letting them see each other's faces. Nadira said as much, “Wouldn’t hiding our faces make us trust eachother less?”
"It’s for a few people's sakes, you and three others. Of course everyone will have a mask, but you four will probably be the only ones that need them. Officially, the mask are required for your entire training period and must be removed once it ends. I’m sure you’ll understand the need eventually.” Blackwell made a hand motion around his face, insinuating it was time to go.
Nadira donned the mask she'd been given before asking a final question “What will you do to stop me from dropping my mask before the training is over? Are these enchanted?”
“No, we won’t stop you from removing the mask; it's all about trust,” Blackwell told her.
Just a piece from the first chapter. Brightweaver is describing Nadira.
Brightweaver’s eyes scan the young woman for anything interesting, and take notice of her long loc’d hair tied up in a loose bun. Typically a style like this would read as plain but the bright purple color of her locs showed the ex-Grand Master that this woman was anything but. Intelligent eyes matching her hair color gazed at Brightweaver expressionlessly, if not somewhat coldly. This didn’t detour her, she unabashedly observed the woman for any more interesting observations. The woman was built of lean muscle, and her back was rigidly straight. But her hands were the different; long, elegant and uncalloused. An athlete without rough calloused hands was rare for others but it was the most common proof of a mage. Afterall, they tended to err towards the side of caution when it comes to using their hands. They’re a mages most important weapon.
Yet, nothing made Brightweaver more curious than the dainty silver necklace Nadira was wearing and the faded scar spanning from the top of her head, going across her nose, and ending on the opposite cheek.
