daisayf:
Oh the Dai would have lived to see such a site the once proud flying one brought to heel by their master. Yet more important matters pulled at his mind.
A traitor did not deserve mercy. Even within the holy city. Allah could only be so merciful, the same could be not said of a living dagger.
A movement of fingers soon produced a delicate feather
"Do not foul this Altaïr." The Dai spoke, sliding the feather within arms length for the assassin to collect, turning his back toward his collection of parchment and written works. Silent verification to end this traitorous dogs life.
Not brought to his heel, placed there.
By their master who sought to enlighten him the way of redemption; by being sent to fetch it like a damned dog. He needs no further instruction, only the marker placed before him.
Once collected, delicate as such mere feather he now possesses is the soundless sweep of pristine robes taking leave of the Bureau.
Only to return once their traitor knows silence as Jerusalem should have it's peace.

The recognition isn’t enough to stop the spikes from fluttering along freakishly nor the baring of teeth on a face and visage covered in old blood - some his own, but enough to halt him in a crouch with claws splayed out on the floor as breaks to his mad dash. He’s done a lot in the name of SURVIVAL in the past few months. Events he’ll regret in the coming months when Mercer’s socialized out of this beastly display. At least he sits on his haunches, looking less volatile.
"T h i n g s."
So it has been, so it always will be.
Should recognition not be enough, he may have very well returned as mere sacrifice. To the cause that, despite such horrific display has yet to truly be seen.
Mercer is cryptic. Such is not an answer. His blade does not come seeking blood -- but truth.
❝You speak only in riddles and expect me to understand. I fear not your deception and I will not ask again -- I will demand. What has become of you?! ❞

“I’m wasting your time?” Well then she was doing alright for the moment. “So tell me, what is with the hood. Is it a fashion statement?”

“Alright then— let’s go for a swim. We are pretty high up in this tower, do a swan dive.”

ONCE A LIE | ALTAIR
Swathed in a shadow darker than night, Corvo stands, peering up through the veil of harsh sunlight towards the fortress sitting sentry on the cliffs. It was strange compared to Dunwall, to any of the Isles. But at the same time, Masyaf had a startling likeness to the twisted streets he was so used to; the atmosphere was the same. It felt the same.
Slowly the lord protector moves towards the inner keep — he was on an important diplomatic venture. Since Emily had regained the throne, he’d done quite a bit politically, alongside his usual protective duties. Just this day he was seeking the aid of the Assassin Brotherhood, who seemed a good ally to the Empire. Not to mention the apparent likeness of the The Outsider to ‘The Ones Who Came Before’ and the runes to pieces of Eden. Either way, it was a quest to gain help and information, both of which Corvo was more than capable of getting.
Where the light beckons, shadows will seek to endlessly come forth.
There is not a single ray that passes along it's ethereal blessings in seeking to cover the holy land without an inevitable and thought to be impenetrable darkness destined to follow.
These lands are long since scorched with their focal trade-- lives for blood. A trade in which that de Sable and his men are mastered. It is not uncommon for visitors to frequent the mighty Masyaf wrought between supplies and contract. This visitor, however is one the Master believes worthy.
Of what, he has yet to discern. For was his greatest failure not being born of knowledge? Allowing him to know beyond set bounds prevents one's ability to ascend and so information is always withheld with this reason and this reason in itself, alone. It is not the first time he has found himself thickened with the burden of doubt. From mere chosen vantage point, he remains stilled.
But one of many robed brethren whom wander the corridors in between. Some take close heed of the proclaimed lord protector while any remainder think to pay him no mind. He brings the shadows with him, after all. If there is any trust to be had in this-- it must first be found.
❝Peace, in all things. Is this what you too fight for?❞
