Time for the grand reveal of the prototype tester, my first ever PMC sterling silver pyramid ring! I'm super happy because it held together in the kiln and appears to be nice and strong. NB I will keep this piece (as it's the first) and wear it daily for a good long while to test durability.

As you can see, my #NonOrdinary silversmithing style is currently gnarly and organic, just how I like it.😊 Now I can plot and plan the next pieces, likely some spirit pendants or something equally mystical, hehe...✨

{ Day 7 • How It's Made } #March #meetthemaker #Instagram Part of my artistic practice involves #doodlesmudging ~ a playful name I came up with to describe a particular technique of smudging watercolour about and then doodling over the top any forms I begin to see emerging from the chaos of colour ✒ It's a lot like seeing shapes in clouds or faces in curtain folds; a fun way of freeing up creativity if I'm feeling a bit stuck or stagnant, on those days when my 'raw materials' are being coy and not bubbling up as readily... @doodlesmudge #doodlesmudge #watercolourplay #creativity #inkyfingers #theartoflauren

{ Day 3 • Workspace } #March #meetthemaker #Instagram I can mostly be found scribbling and doodling away at my desk or painting at my easel. I try to minimise clutter, but it's pretty futile as it wouldn't feel right without a collection of crystals to hand and Buddha watching over me! It also makes me happy to have some original artworks by a few of my favourite artists dotted about for inspiration...
