The 3D experience of a Senior House (MIT dorm) mural (shown below the "Keep Reading"). The different color patterns in the brain are actually each letters. In the original, they spell out SPORT DEATH 2HNC. I changed it slightly for my shirt--SPORT DEATH 4EVER. Each letter actually has the stripes as ridges for a 3D construction, and each fabric is pseudo-iridescent in that from different angles they appear different, which was also an advantage in making the ridges. The sparkly "goop" also hangs over the eye rather than being flat, and all of the goop is raised and rounded to add to that 3D construction. The teeth, as always, spell out "ONLY LIFE CAN KILL YOU", although the "CAN" is hard to see in this picture because the one drawback of a shirt specifically is that it's affected by the shape of the body inside it. Fun facts: 1. All of the letters were hand-sewn so that each letter would have thread matching its color scheme 2. I went to 5-6 different fabric stores across Brooklyn and Manhattan to get all of the fabrics--just under 20 total.

For Halloween '21 I went as a pun. I made a "cigar" with an angry Pillsbury Doughboy band on it that lit up red on the "ash" end when pressed on the "inhaling" end, so that if you put it up to your lips it would look like you're smoking the cigar. I also made a brooch that looked like a chocolate chip cookie. I carries a briefcase with me full of cookies. And I wore a pinstripe suit with a vest and pocket square of a specific color... Can you guess the pun? The answer is below.

Leather bowtie -- my first ever leather project, designed without any pattern or physical reference.

I named my apartment "Happy House" after the Siouxsie and the Banshees song, and so of course my mural has to have the song's lyrics in it. Plus, Art Nouveau is my favorite visual art style, so I wanted to frame the lyrics with that style. I'm looking for a better lighting rig to really bring out the reflective paint, though.

I went as MF DOOM for Halloween '22. I made the mask--it was my first time ever doing papier-mâché--and I wanted to capture every detail of the original "Operation: Doomsday" album cover, including the color of the laces for the hoodie (I replaced the original ones with gold cord). I also sewed the glove to match the sharp robotic look of the one on the cover (but I was running late to the party, so I had to roll with what I'd made without the finishing touches.) The cover I used as a reference image is below.

The first pumpkin I ever carved was mid-pandemic, so I had to teach myself. I decided to make the signature Siouxsie and the Banshees eyes. I used a Dremel to thin the outer layer and shape the eyes, and then cut out the interior of the eyes by hand.

This is Beyonce's outfit from the Formation music video, which I reconstructed for Halloween '19. I made the skirt out of 2 Goodwill dresses to have a central slit in the outer skirt that reveals the lace of the inner skirt. I also constructed and soldered the earrings together by hand. I also never wear nail polish, but for this costume, I had to commit to the bit.
