I think it's interesting that Battler got such a sympathetic look on Rosa from his father. It would imply Rudolf has some kind of guilt or at least awareness that their actions were abusive and out of line, which we never really hear from Eva or Krauss. HOWEVER, its a bit vague whether Rudolf includes himself in this (Rosa says he gave her two person's worth of bullying). I'd get why he wouldn't tho, as well as I get why he would only talk about the "psychological" parts of it to his own son.
