As most of you may know, a few weeks ago I ended up in the hospital with a bit of a scare. I know people are worried about me and the babies as no update has been given but I am coming to everyone know to say, we are fine. Both of the babies are perfectly okay and healthy. I am okay and doing much better. I appreciate all of the loving text messages and calls I’ve received and all of the support everyone has given. We’re staying on bed rest and the three of us will make it to the end of this pregnancy unharmed. Love, Ava 💕

SUMMARY: Samuel goes to Ava about the latest argument he and Blue had.
Laying in the bed, Ava cuddled up with Luca sweetly, rubbing her fingers through his wild hair gently as she idly watched the TV, half-sleep.
Luca laid along with Ava his eyes closed as he slept in their bed holding onto her, or her belly rather.
Samuel moved into their bedroom and he closed the door behind him gently, resting against it as he took a deep breather. He walked away from the door and he moved into the bathroom rummaging the drawers for something to take. When he didn’t find anything, he moved back into the room “do you know where my medicine is?” he asked his wife as he moved to his nightstand drawer and pulled it open, looking through it.
Ava’s fingers continued to stroke Luca’s hair softly and he looked up at her husband as he entered the room. She watched him quietly as he moved for the bathroom. She heard him rummaging around before she watched him walk over to his nightstand. “It’s right here,” she said shifting slightly in the bed, trying not to disturb Luca as she reached over into her own nightstand drawer. She pulled out two medicine bottles, one for Luca and one for Samuel, and she read the name on the bottles before he handed Samuel’s out to him. “You feeling okay?” she asked him sweetly.
Samuel looked to Ava and he grabbed the bottle trying to work it open, and he shook his head at her. “No” he said in a quiet voice “I am not you” he told her. “I can’t carry the family, I am horrible at it and the kids hate me,” he said to her. “I am not strong like you, I have been popping this like candy lately” he said as he lowered himself to the bed, tossing a pill back and swallowing it.
Sitting up a bit in the bed, Ava gently adjusted Luca against a pillow a bit as she moved across the bed towards her husband. She rested behind him on her knees and she placed her hands on his shoulders, rubbing them gently. “What happened?” she asked softly, pressing a tender kiss to his cheek.
Samuel felt Ava move up behind him and kiss his cheek, he shook his head at her question. “What doesn’t happen?” he said looking up at the ceiling. “Luca won’t leave your side Ava” he said shaking his head at the thought. “Blue thinks I hate her” he breathed “because she’s a lesbian… I wasn’t pleased about it. But I don’t hate her Ava” he stressed. “We just keep sinking further into his damn hole and I hate it” he confessed. He pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head “I have no handle over anything” he told her “when I brought you home Siena was the only person that asked me, if I was okay and I didn’t even have an answer for her” he shrugged. “I don’t even get to have an opinion or feelings around here, I’m just this big guy they expect to be hard all the time and when I am, they hate me for it. I’m not respected for anything” he told her.
Ava gently wrapped her arms around her husband’s neck from behind, her belly pressed against his back gently as she leaned against him slightly, just listening to him as he poured out what he needed to. Resting her head on his shoulder a bit she said, “Luca’s just scared,” she whispered. “They all are, you are too,” she said knowingly before she sighed at the thought of Blue. She had strong feelings about that entire subject, between Blue and Samuel. She didn’t really want to touch it but maybe she needed to. “Blue knows that you love her,” she sighed softly, “but Samuel, baby, you did start treating her differently after she came out,” she whispered to him softly. “She wasn’t your little angel anymore after that,” she told him softly, “at least from my point of view,” she clarified. “I know you love her baby, of course you do,” she said, lifting her head a bit to press another kiss to his cheek. “Things will get better,” she whispered. “We are dealing with a lot right now, things are changing, we’ve got so much on our plates, but things will get better,” she told him reassuringly. “They will come around,” she said softly, giving him a gentle squeeze. “Don’t try to be the big bad guy, but also don’t be the softie either baby. Don’t be a character for our children, just be you,” she told him sweetly. “They will come around,” she repeated again.
Samuel listened to his wife as she gave her own opinion towards the situation, and he sighed to himself. If that was the case, then he didn’t intentionally mean to cast such a negative cloud over Blue for her choice. He licked his lips and closed his eyes as she went on to explain further what she thought. “Blue thinks I am her enemy Ava; nothing is going to change. You will remain her superhero and I will be the bad guy no matter what I decide to do” he said. “They get everything they need, and they want” he stressed to her. “There is not a day that went by that I didn’t work, to make sure that they could get everything they needed” he said. “I think she does stuff to spite me, she says all she does is beg for my attention. That’s bullshit” he told her aggressively. “I ask Luca for privacy” he said “I never get it; I don’t punish him for it” he said to her. “I’ve always told Siena to focus on school more and boys less, she didn’t listen. I didn’t know what I was talking about. Their Mother’s words weigh more than mine…” he told her. “Phoenix doesn’t come out of that room, but 5 years from now it will be my fault. It’s always my fault, everything” he said as he ran his hand down his face. “All of you should just rally up and shove me off a bridge, I swear everyone’s life would be so much better without me” he said as dramatically as he felt they all acted.
Ava nuzzled Samuel’s neck softly as he went on and she listened to him, nodding slightly. Pursing her lips slightly, she kept her mouth shut when it came to Blue. The two of them had an issue that they needed to work out, all she was going to say was this: “Blue loves you, you love Blue. Just let that be it. Just let it be love,” she whispered to him. Moving her arms from around his neck, Ava rubbed his shoulders more, trying to help him relax. “Sweetheart,” she sighed out. “They’re kids,” she reminded him. “Blue, Siena, Phoenix, they’re all at that stage…” she said softly, “they’re teenage girls,” she added, “Luca… he,” she chuckled softly, “he is going to do what he is going to do,” she said knowingly, “he doesn’t mean any harm,” she said, “he just enjoys cuddling and spending time, that’s one of the few things that truly makes him happy baby,” she said gently, stroking his beard a bit. “And you stop that,” she said, gently turning his face a bit, “stop talking like that, we all love you so much baby,” she said as she slowly moved around him to rest beside him now. She took one of his large hands and placed it on her stomach, “we all love you and we wouldn’t be a family without you.”
Samuel listened to her try to sugarcoat it all for him as she always did, time after time. He didn’t think she was right when it came to this one. More and more as time passed, he couldn’t help the nagging feeling that they’d be better without him, especially Ava. Licking his lips he shook his head at her and he said “I can’t take it anymore Ava” to her seriously even as she moved to place his hands on her stomach “I really can’t take it anymore” he cried, breaking down a little.
Ava held Samuel’s hand against her stomach, pressing it there and he spoke and began to cry. She sighed softly, pulling him to her, her arms wrapped around him. She rubbed his back and shoulders gently, “it’s okay baby,” she whispered in his ear. “It’s going to be okay,” she repeated, making a mental note in her head to take him to the hospital tomorrow. She was on bedrest, but her husband’s health was also important and clearly, he needed to have his prescription updated and he maybe even needed some anti-depressants. “We’re going to work it out,” she whispered softly.
Samuel sniffled, nodding his head at Ava as she wrapped him up and he held her back. “Sorry” he told her easily, it wasn’t about him right now it was about her and her health. He could contemplate slitting his wrist another day, right now she was more important.
“Shh, shh,” Ava whispered to him, rubbing his back more. “It’s okay,” she said, moving her hand to his hair, massaging his scalp a bit. “Lay with me and Luca baby and let’s just relax,” she whispered.
Samuel nodded her head at her as he leaned up and dried his eyes quickly. Erasing it all as he looked back at their son, pure perfection laying there even with his wild head of hair. “I should lay down” he repeated to her, nodding his head, as he processed his feelings.
Ava nodded slightly and she moved over the bed. Gently she shifted Luca over a bit, making room so that Samuel could lay behind her. Laying her body down, she pulled Luca against her stomach, she wrapped her arm around him and with her other hand, patted back behind her for Samuel.
Samuel watched Ava as she situated herself in the bed again and Samuel moved behind her. He laid down and wrapped his arm around her, resting his hand on her stomach protectively. He pecked her neck and laid his head on a pillow as he rested comfortably. All of his worries melted away a little bit for now.
As Samuel laid down behind her, Ava let out a soft sigh, happy that she was able to get him to calm down, if even just for a bit. Closing her eyes, she whispered, “I love you baby,” to both of her boys, knowing that Luca was awake.
Luca cuddled up to his mother and looked up at her with bright eyes for a moment before he said. “I love you to mommy” easily “and daddy” he added as he buried his face into her again, happily content.
Samuel shifted “I love you too babe” he breathed when he heard Luca he smirked “I love you too kid” he told him amused as he caressed Ava’s stomach.

TIME FRAME: Tuesday, May 12, 2020
LOCATION: Evans’ Residence; Seattle Grace Hospital; Seattle, Washington
SUMMARY: Samuel goes to Blue to talk about her decision to take a year off from school to help out around the house with the new babies. That conversation turns into a big blow out between the two and Ava in the middle of it all, has a heart attack, scaring everyone half-to-death.
Blue sat in her room, Beats over her ears as she laid, lounged across the bed, head bobbing to the music as she hummed along, tapping away against the keys of her MacBook as she chatted via Skype with her friends in a group chat that had her belly aching from laughter. She hadn’t been in school since everything went down with Siena and Jessie and her parents pulled them out. Basically, she had already graduated. They had mailed her a bunch of course work and soon as she turned it in, they sent her a diploma. So, she was missing all of the jokes and the laughs with her friends, but thankfully they filled her in every single day about the events of the day. It kind of sucked that she wasn’t going to walk in her graduation, but she understood, and she accepted it.
Samuel moved down the hallway and he knocked on the door waiting for Blue to answer his knock as he waited there. He had been meaning to talk to the girl about her decision for a while now and he hadn’t gotten around to it. But considering he was working from home today, he decided to make time for something else that was important in his life.
Blue typed away, cackling out to herself, rolling into her side a bit as she howled out with laugher, tears of mirth springing to her eyes. She was so amused at the story her friends were telling her. “Oh fuck,” she chuckled softly, wiping under her eye a bit before she heard a knock at her door and she pulled her headphones down around her neck as she slid off the bed and walked over to it. She hit the latch and unlocked it before she pulled it open, staring up at her father.
As the door opened Samuel looked back down at Blue, arms folded over his chest and he licked his lips. “We need to talk,” he told her softly. Cutting straight to the chase he was not one for sugarcoating or kindness when it came to these types of things, he said how he felt and what he felt right-out.
Blue blinked slowly. “Okay…” she said as she stared at him. “About?” she questioned still standing in the doorway, not letting the man into her room. She glanced back at her laptop, hearing all of the messages come through from the headphones around her neck. Smirking softly, she looked back at her father, shifting on her feet as she looked back up into his blueish-gray eyes expectantly.
Samuel looked at Blue as she questioned him and he tilted his head at her. “Are you going to let me in?” he said in a voice that really didn’t imply it being a question more-so a statement and if she answered incorrectly it would be her ass.
Blue tilted her head at her father before she sighed and stepped back, letting her father into the room. She walked over to her bed and quickly typed out, “P.I.R. BRB,” before she closed the screen and she looked at him. “What would you like to discuss?” she asked him formally as she crossed her ankle over her knee.
Samuel looked at his daughter as she moved which was good on her part because he would have moved her otherwise. He watched her move towards her laptop, and he looked around her room idly before he said, “we need to talk about the school you plan on attending,” he said playing stupid with her. “Fall is going to approach before you know it,” he told her, licking his lips as he folded his arms over his chest again.
Blue looked up at him and said, “oh, that’s all?” questioning him a bit. “I’m not going,” she said easily. “I’m taking a gap year,” she said staring up at him.
Samuel looked at her as she replied, and he nodded his head, “and what makes you think you have that option?” he asked her back curiously. “We’ve saved up you and your siblings' entire lives to ensure you went off to school and received an education much like the both of us,” he told her. “Why do you need to sit out a year Blue?” he questioned.
“Because it’s my decision,” Blue said back to him matter-of-factly before she tilted her head a bit. “And I will… next fall,” she told him easily, resting back on her hands before she answered him. “Because you need help…”
“What makes you think your mother and I need you to come in and save the day baby?” Samuel asked her, confused. “Do you think we are incompetent we raised you,” he pointed. “Which I happen to think we did a damn good job at,” he stressed. “There’s a few things going on right now, I get that. I know you care though you try so hard to hide it, but baby girl, your life does not stop or be put on hold because of me, your mom, or your siblings,” he told her seriously. “As long as there is a roof over all of our heads, we are good,” he said, gesturing to their home. “I have you all covered Blue; you need to prepare for college you are going,” he said again.
Blue looked at her father and she said, “I already declined my admission…” with a hum. It was too late even if she wanted to turn back. “...and it’s not about saving the day, it’s about support,” she told him as she got up and moved to close her door. “Rather you want to admit it or not, you and mom are getting older and mom’s not carrying one baby, she’s carrying two. That’s double the load…” she said knowingly. “It’s not going to be as easy as it was. With Luca I was old enough to help out, even with Phoenix I lent a hand,” she said. “I’m staying… now I can enroll in a community college or something and take online classes for your piece of mind, but I’m staying right here...”
“My age doesn’t have shit to do with shit and neither does your mother’s,” Samuel snapped. “Must you always be disobedient, must you always be a hard ass, fight me on everything I fucking say…” he told her. “You are only disagreeing because you have to at every turn do the opposite of what I ask or completely disregard my fucking commands,” he said. Samuel didn’t curse at his children, he really tried not to curse at all but Blue knew every button to push.
Blue’s neck jerked a bit at her father’s outburst, and she nodded slowly before she opened her bedroom door back up and gestured for him to go, not saying another word. She didn’t understand how she was literally sacrificing to help her family and still got treated like she wasn’t worth shit. “I will call the school in the morning and see if I can retract my statement…” was all that she said. “You can exit my room now…”
Samuel watched her as she moved to open her door to dismiss him from the room and that only angered him further and he balled his fist. “Don’t tell me where to go Blue, you are really about to piss me off,” he yelled at her. “Smart fucking mouth, you got. I am so tired of that shit,” he said forcefully, slamming his hand against the door so hard it cracked and created a hole behind the door.
“I didn’t even do anything!” Blue screamed back at him, now throwing her hands into the air. “I never do anything! You just fucking hate me for no reason!” she said with tears filling her eyes now. “You don’t treat anyone else like the way you treat me!” she said at the top of her lungs. “I don’t know what I ever did to you but I’m sorry!” she said before she let out a sob from the back of her throat, her hand clamping down around her mouth.
Ava, who had been taking a nap in the bedroom, sat up quickly when she heard Samuel yelling. She rubbed her eyes a bit, looking around the room confused before she heard Blue’s voice and she realized what might be happening. “Oh lord,” she said softly to herself as she slid from the bed, stuffing her feet into her house shoes before she was moving out the room and into the hallway. She rushed to Blue’s room where she could hear the two of them and she shooed everyone else away, “uh, uh, go to your rooms, mind your business,” she said ushering them away as she approached. She stood there in the hallway, just outside of Blue’s open door. “What is going on?!” she asked them both shocked, looking between the two as she rubbed her growing belly.
“Bullshit,” Samuel countered to his child. “Well, if you act like my fucking child and not like my fucking equal, I wouldn’t want to smack the fuck out of you every day of my got damn life!” Samuel snapped back. When his wife surfaced, he looked at her and he straightened his posture backing out of Blue’s face and he looked at his wife. “Nothing,” he said to his wife, “she’s taking her ass off to school, she won’t be staying here for a year,” he told her as he moved to walk over her threshold.
Blue’s face turned red and she huffed and puffed softly as she cried, fresh hot tears rolling down her cheeks. Dropping her hand from her mouth, she was prepared to snapback at him before she whipped her head over to her mother. At her father’s words, she looked back at him and sneered, “don’t worry, I’ll be out before nightfall.” She turned immediately to her closet and snatched her duffle bag out before she began to stuff things into it.
Staring wide-eyed with shock from Samuel’s harsh words to Blue, Ava looked at him as he spoke, moving past her before she looked at Blue at her words, watching as the girl began to pack her things. She could feel the headache throbbing in her temples already and she asked again, reaching out to grab Samuel’s arm, not letting him get very far, “what is going on?!” She was so confused as to what could have possibly transpired. “What is happening right now?” she questioned before she looked at Blue. “Stop packing your things and tell me what the hell just happened…”
“Let me go Ava!” Samuel said, snatching her hand off of him as he rolled his shoulders moving to walk away from them both. Samuel jogged down the steps in hot pursuit of the girl’s keys, if she left, she wasn’t leaving with the car his money helped purchase. Nor was he going to stop her from doing so.
Blue whipped her head over to her mother as she continued to shove things into the bag before she moved over to her dresser grabbing things from there as well. “No,” she said to her mother, barely able to see through her tears as she grabbed essentials. Moving back to her closet, she shook her head as she pulled on a jacket and zipped it up. She pulled the hood over her head before she slid her feet into a pair of Nike’s. “I’m not going to continue to do this,” she said, crying still. “He wants me gone. Then I’m gone,” she said as she zipped up the duffle. She reached up into her shelf in her closet and grabbed down a shoe box full of money she had saved up and she grabbed the two wads of cash, shoving them both into the side of her duffle before she picked up her laptop, the charger for it, her phone, and it’s charger as well. She shoved them all into a backpack, zipping it up and slinging it onto her back before she pulled the strap to the duffle over her shoulder. She walked over to Ava and pressed a kiss to the woman’s cheek. “I love you mom,” she said before she walked off, moving down the steps quickly. She moved past Samuel, walking out the front door and she left her house keys right there on the hook as she slammed the front door behind her.
Ava looked at her husband as he yanked away from her before she looked back at Blue, watching as the girl continued to pack her things. “Blue you can’t just leave, what happened?!” she asked once more, almost begging now as the girl moved about. When Blue kissed her cheek and moved to leave, Ava stood there shell shocked. What was going on?! She couldn’t believe this. Her head was literally throbbing and she pressed her hand into the doorframe to keep herself up as she began to feel lightheaded, her blood pressure through the roof. Huffing softly, she leaned her body against the wall a bit as she shook her head angrily as she heard the front door slam. “Sam!” she barked at the top of her lungs.
Samuel watched Blue leave, slamming the front door and he locked it behind her, tossing her keys halfway across the room angrily. He thought he had a handle on things but no, stuff was still falling to damn shit around him. He blinked hard huffing to himself, he didn’t want her to leave, hell he didn’t even mean to curse her out or say what he said. But that was the thing about words, some you couldn’t take back. Hearing Ava his head snapped upward, “shit,” he said to himself. Now, he had his other children and wife to deal with in the wake of the aftermath. He licked his lips, jaw rolling, and he moved for the steps taking his time as he did, trying to find an excuse to how things panned out as he did.
Ava panted softly, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she pushed off the wall and marched over to the steps, hands on her hips. She was so dizzy. Her head was spinning and she truthfully needed to sit down. Staring down at him as he rose up the steps, she squinted a bit out of anger and also because her vision was a bit blurred. “What in the fuck was that?!” she barked out at him.
Samuel looked up at Ava, tilting his head a bit as he took her in. “You okay?” he asked her deflecting from the question she just asked as he reached the second to last step. He stood before her looking down as he rested one of his hands on the railing.
Blinking slowly, Ava looked at Samuel and she nodded. “I’m fine,” she fussed at him. She was not fine. She was absolutely the furthest from being fine. As her chest tightened a bit and she began to sweat some. “You kicked her out?!” she asked him frustrated, throwing her hands into the air and losing her balance a bit, she stumbled into him.
Samuel watched Ava, he studied her face and her mannerism ignoring the words that were leaving her mouth. His eyes raced up to her eyes as she asked yet another question and he caught her as he stumbled into him, luckily, he was holding the rail. “You need to sit down,” he told her seriously. “Do you need some water?” he asked her as she moved them away from the steps, he ushered her to their bedroom in a flash moving to lower her to the bed. “Calm down,” he said, bending over to stare her into her eyes, reading her, studying her. Shit.
Ava fell into Samuel’s chest, her eyes fluttering as her weight went dead against him.
Phoenix, who had been standing there with her head poked out the door screamed out, “mom!” as the woman fell into Samuel. She watched as her father pulled her into the bedroom and she rushed behind there, standing in the doorway with a book in her hand as tears began to fill her eyes.
Siena stood behind her door terrified, it was like her entire house was at a constant war now and she didn’t understand why. Hearing her younger sister, she opened her door and looked out. “What is going on?” she asked her heart racing from the fear she felt. She rushed towards where her sister was standing in her parents doorway seeing their mother and father. “W-what’s going on Dad?” she said forcefully.
Samuel watched Ava as she fell into him and he caught her before her body could hit the ground. He lowered himself to his knees and he said in a soft voice. “Baby?” there was no way she was doing this right now. “Baby,” he said as he shook her as little and he shot his head up turning around he said, “call 911,” to his second oldest child as he clutched onto Ava’s plush body. “Now! Right now!” he commanded.
Siena looked at her father as his body slid to the ground, her mother’s as if in slow motion, moved with his lifelessly. With tear filled eyes she nodded her head rapidly as she took off down the hallway towards her room where her phone was and she hurriedly called 911 explaining to them the situation as she rushed out the room back down the hall, bumping into Phoenix accidentally as she rushed next to her dad falling to her knees, tears actually rolling now. Her biggest fear in the world was coming to life and she was trying very hard to effectively assist her father.
Phoenix stood there, tears rolling down her face as she watched Ava lay there lifelessly in Samuel’s arms. Looking at Siena, she clutched her sister’s arm tightly before Siena rushed off and she continued to stand there shocked. “Do something!” she said to Samuel now as she dropped the book when Siena knocked into her.
Samuel moved to lie Ava down against the ground, his mind was so cloudy he didn’t know what to think right now. Once he laid her on her back, he tilted her head back, chin up, and he leaned in to hear if she was breathing and he groaned as he began to cry. “No, no,” he said to his wife. “Come on Ava,” he said to her seriously as he placed both of his hands, one on top of the other, and centered them on her chest he pushed up and down on her chest forcefully and as quickly as he could. Hearing Siena on the phone with 911 he leaned down, pinched Ava’s nose and covered her mouth with his as he blew into her hard, twice. He pulled away and began the compressions once more. “Come on baby, come on baby,” he said as he pumped. “Don’t do this please,” he sniffled, snot running from his nose.
Luca moved down the hall from having been outside in the backyard for the past hour though he knew he wasn’t supposed to be. He saw his sister in the doorway of his parents room, he heard crying, begging, and his sister frantically talking about something. He continued to walk down the hallway fingers tracing the wall before he reached the door. He watched Samuel, his mother laid out on the ground and his eyes grew widely. “Phoenix,” he stammered.
At the sound of Luca’s voice, Phoenix dropped her eyes to him quickly. “Luca!” she said loudly before she grabbed him and pulled him to her chest, covering his eyes with her hand. She looked at her sister, mother, and father once more before she began leading Luca away. He didn’t need to see this.
Siena continued to talk to the woman on the phone as she explained to her that fire rescue was but moments away from them now that her father should continue CPR if he could. She sniffled as she watched Samuel, she didn’t know if she’d ever seen her father cry a day in her life. She was shaking from that, from the sight of her mother, and because their big sister wasn’t there to lie and tell them that everything was okay.
Luca clutched onto Phoenix as he burst into tears, much like an infant he cried out for his mother even as his sister carried him off from what he had just seen.
Phoenix gripped into Luca tightly, dragging the boy away as he cried and she cried to as she said, “c’mon we have to make room and be out of the way when the medics arrive.” She practically picked the boy up and carried him down the steps to get the door open and ready.
Blue moved down the street quickly, hands in her pockets and her head down as she cried, walking to the nearest gas station so that she could stop and call Ariel to get her. However, as a slew of ambulances breezed past her, she looked back at them. She watched as they stopped in front of the house she just proclaimed to leave and her eyes went wide as she turned and took off running back towards the house, the bags bouncing and weighing her down as she did.
Samuel continued to try and breathe life into Ava and pressed down onto her chest as hard and fast as he could. He continued to cry as he did so, everything around him was kind of washed out now as he focused on her and the babies solely. When he heard the rushing of feet in the distance and male voices booming he continued his work on her chest.
Luca clutched onto his sister tightly as she hoisted him up and he continued to cry into her neck as strange people bombarded their way into his home.
Siena looked up as she heard commotion downstairs and she clutched her phone looking down at her mother. She wasn’t waking up, what did that mean? Was she dead?
Blue rushed as quickly as she could back into the house and she clambered through the door looking at Phoenix and Blue. They were okay, good. She rushed up the steps behind the medics and even shoved one out of the way as she entered the bedroom to see Ava laid out on the floor and she gasped out. “Mom…” she croaked.
Ava laid in the hospital bed hooked up to a million monitors and devices. Looking around the room slowly, she shifted a bit, feeling the oxygen tube in her nose. She blinked hard as she realized that she was in the hospital and she looked over at all the monitors eyeing them before she groaned softly, her eyes closing once more.
Samuel stood in a corner with his arms folded over his chest, he wiped his nose with the inside of his shirt. He gazed at her with bloodshot red eyes as she shifted and opened her eyes against the bed, he didn’t move however. She was hooked up to so much stuff he didn’t know if he could touch her. As she closed her eyes again, he pressed his back into the wall further, his fingers were still trembling from all the compressions he’d given her and from the fear that had found residence in his heart. This was all his fault as usual, he was the bad guy, he knew that.
Groaning softly, Ava coughed a bit before she shifted in the bed once more. She could feel her husband in the room and with her eyes still closed she asked him, “what happened?” her voice a little hoarse.
Samuel watched her as she coughed and when she asked him what happened, at first, he said nothing to her at all. He swallowed hard, he didn’t really have a voice to speak in and he tried to clear it a bit. “Uh,” he said to her as a tear fell and he wiped it quickly. “You, uh, had a heart attack,” he said, his voice faltering as he tried to get the words out and other tears falling, he sniffled a little trying to do without her hearing him.
Laying there, Ava waited for Samuel to tell her why she was in the hospital and at his faltering response, she nodded slightly. That’s why her chest was hurting. “A heart attack,” she repeated, slowly moving a hand to her little belly. She could faintly hear the fetal heart monitors in the room and she knew that they were, at the least from what she could currently tell, okay. She knew the man was crying, she could hear it in his voice, but she didn’t make mention of it as she groaned once more. “I’m okay…” she said softly, letting her eyes flutter open once more to stare at the ceiling.
Samuel used his shirt to dry his eyes again as he watched her, he swallowed again. Dropping his shaky hands to his sides as he stood there in the corner still, since she’d been in the room and he was brought to her he had been standing in one spot. He couldn’t touch her, he didn’t want to, he was still scared. So, he said nothing when she told him she was fine. He didn’t even know that to be true, it could all be a lie or something else could happen. He didn’t know, his mind was racing and he exhaled slowly. There had never been something like this to happen to either one of them, the thought of his wife dying had now crippled him for life after this near-death experience.
Ava blinked slowly, coughing once more before she let her eyes travel over to her husband in the corner. She gazed at him as best she could from her positioning and she said, “c’mere…” gently, her hand lifting slowly to reach out for him.
Dr. Bennett knocked on the door gently as she read over the results of the various tests and things that they had put Ava through while she rested. The woman had caused everyone in the hospital a big scare and she was still a bit shaken up herself, however, she tried to keep her composure.
Samuel looked at her debating if he was actually going to go to her before he heard the door. Samuel didn’t say anything instead he moved to open the door to let whoever it was in. He looked to the woman in the lab coat before he walked off slowly moving closer to Ava but he still kept his distance leaning against the window as he waited to hear what was to be said.
Ava held her hand out until she heard the knock at the door. She watched her husband walk over and open it and she looked at Bernice Bennett with a small sigh. She let her eyes follow Samuel once more as he rested closer to her now, but not where she wanted him to be, which was right by her side. Looking back over to Bernice, she said, “just tell me…” softly before she coughed again.
Dr. Bennett looked up at the tall man that she knew to be Ava’s husband as he opened the door and she smiled softly at him as she entered the room and closed the door back behind her. She gazed at Ava in the bed and she sighed as well. Standing at the end of the bed, she looked at the chart before she looked at Ava once more. “Well, Ava, you had a mild heart attack,” she said out right, “which was caused by stress and high blood pressure,” she explained. “I’ve spoken with Dr. Rand,” she said knowing that Dorothy was Ava’s OB, “and we went over your blood samples and results. It looks like you also have an early case of preeclampsia,” she said softly before she lowered the chart and said, “we’ve managed your heart attack, but we would like to place a stent,” she told the woman. “With the existing condition of preeclampsia and the other various factors of your age and carrying multiples, we believe it to be the best treatment for the time being since we cannot place you on blood thinners.”
Samuel watched the woman and Ava; the medical professional took her time to explain to Ava all that was going on upon Ava’s immediate request for her to do so. He listened taking it all in from her and when she there to was a complication dealing with their children, he sighed heavily to himself, fuck. Their children were right, they were too old for this shit and now they were suffering the consequences of that. Her nearly dying and their children, everything their kids feared was coming to life. He asked, “what does preeclampsia mean for Ava and the babies?” defeatedly. “And how is the stent done?” Samuel asked hoping it didn’t mean major surgery.
Looking to Samuel, Dr. Bennett began to explain, “preeclampsia is a condition during pregnancy where there is a sudden rise in blood pressure and swelling, mostly in the face, hands, and feet. We to this day don’t know exactly what causes preeclampsia but we’ve learned that it’s much more common for women who are overweight, carry multiplies, have high blood pressure, deal with a lot of stress, and are over the age of forty,” she listed off with a small grimace because Ava was all of those things. “For Ava it means that if she hasn’t already she might develop a headache, shortness of breath, rapid weight gain caused by water retention, vomiting, blurred vision…” she listed off. “For the babies the main concern is them not getting enough blood pumped to them causing fetal growth restriction, preterm birth, and placental abruption,” she explained in depth. “However, it looks like we’ve caught this early and that means we can treat and manage it. Right now, Dr. Rand and I believe that the best course of treatment would be a medication to help lower Ava’s blood pressure which seems to be the root of all of the issues at hand today.” Taking a breath, she moved on to the stent. “For Ava’s heart I am suggesting a coronary angioplasty and a stent, it’s a mildly invasive procedure where I would numb the area make a small incision and use a guidewire to get into the blood vessel, I would then insert a catheter tube in through the artery and use a dye to see inside the blood vessels. Then I would insert this small balloon and inflate it, to widen the artery and place the stent. Once it’s in, I’ll remove the catheter and stitch Ava up, once were sure the blood is flowing properly. We’ll just need to keep Ava overnight to make sure there are no complications before sending her home.”
Ava laid there, listening to Dr. Bennett as she explained it all in depth and she nodded slowly, taking it all in. An angioplasty wasn’t so bad. It wasn't cutting her open. Looking from Dr. Bennett to her husband, she let out a deep sigh, coughing a bit more before she looked back to her colleague and asked, “when can we do it?”
Samuel looked at the woman as she explained everything in full to him, she broke down the illnesses and the ways they were going to work to fix the issues of the illnesses. He licked his lips and he and he folded his arms partially as his hand rested against his mouth. It sounded all simple and like it was a sure-fire plan and that everything would be alright but for a man who not long ago was giving his wife mouth to mouth, he was shaking. “When can we do it?” He repeated through his fingers as he sniffled, fresh tears rolling down his cheeks. She wasn’t even giving him time to wrap his brain around all of this shit. He needed to trust the people whose hands she was placed in, but he didn’t, and again he was just scared to death. She sniffled running his hand down his face roughly to dry it.
Ava looked at her husband and she let out a small sigh before she said, “it’s what we need to do to assure that I continue to be fine and as healthy as possible,” she said to him before she moved her eyes to Bernice once more.
Looking between the two, Dr. Bennett stayed quiet until Ava looked at her once more. She glanced at Samuel before she looked at her colleague again, saying, “we can do it today, however, I believe Dr. Rand wants to monitor you and make sure you rest and that you babies are indeed okay so we should probably wait until tomorrow,” she said before there was another knock on the door and Dr. Bennett moved over to it, opening it up for Dr. Rand knowingly.
Dr. Rand stepped into the room as Dr. Bennett opened the door and she entered slowly, looking at Ava over on the bed, her eyes a bit bloodshot because she had been crying. She was completely shell shocked when someone told her that Ava was on the way in. However, she had managed to pull herself semi-together. “Well... Ava you sure did give us a big ol’ scare,” she said, trying to enter with a light mood.
Samuel looked at Ava and he pulled his eyes away from her, how could she be so damn calm? He swallowed down his emotions and his feelings and he looked at the woman as she stated when they went ahead with everything. When their OB walked in, he looked at the woman and rested against the window now as he waited to hear what she clearly had to say now behind the other doctor.
Dr. Bennett stepped aside and let Dr. Rand into the room before she closed the door back behind her. Moving back over to Ava she stood beside Dr. Rand with her hands crossed in front of her.
“You were very lucky Ava,” Dr. Rand began now. “The lack of oxygen, from what we can currently tell, did not harm your twins,” she said to them. “We’ll definitely monitor more closely from now,” she told the couple, “but from what we know right now, they’re doing very well, strong heartbeats, there’s no abnormalities in your amniotic fluids, they’re fine.” She took a breath, “now for you Ava, I told you about your blood pressure,” she said easily, “but now this is a must, you’re going to have to seriously cut back on the stress, no strenuous activities. You need to consume more fruits and vegetables and your healthy fats,” she explained. “More whole grains and nut proteins,” she told the woman. “I would actually like for you to try to walk for at the least thirty minutes to an hour a day to get the blood flowing and to keep you active without much strain,” she said. “We have got to do everything in our power to keep your blood pressure down and your stress levels low,” she sighed out. “I don’t want to have to place you on bedrest, but I will if I need to,” she said, “right now I need you to cut back to one day a week at work,” she said to the woman. “However, if you begin to experience any swelling or heavy water retention, I’m absolutely going to have to enforce bedrest with light walking here and there,” she said.
Samuel listened to the doctor as she explained that their children were fine, everything had checked out for them and she didn’t see their being any complications. She went on to tell the woman what she expected for her to do while all of this was going on, it was hard to change things around for Ava if that is what was needed. As long as everything progressed positively and not negatively. He blinked hard as he folded his arms tightly against his chest, they needed to get her together because this could never happen again. She was 43 years old and had had a heart attack. It was senseless.
Ava looked up at Dorothy as she began to speak to her and she nodded with a small sigh before she coughed a bit more. She rubbed her chest gently as she continued to listen and she said, “I understand,” she looked back to her husband, reaching her hand out to him once more. “I’ll do whatever I need to do,” she said to the woman, her friend. “I will just go on bedrest with light exercise,” she said, “it’s the best option and assures the greatest outcome,” she said gently. “I’ll get it together,” she said as she shifted in the bed a bit.
Nodding at her friend, Dr. Rand said, “now I’m sure Dr. Bennett has already told you this, but we’d like to keep you overnight to monitor you and the babies,” she said. “If you decide to get the stent, I will be there with Dr. Bennett to monitor the babies throughout the procedure,” she said easily.
Samuel looked at the two women as they spoke and he saw her hand, trying to ignore it but he knew he couldn’t. However, he moved over towards her and he gave her his trembling hand even though he really, really, really didn’t want to or be this close to her. His other arm was wrapped around his chest as he blinked slowly.
Ava took her husband's trembling hand into her own and she gave it a soft squeeze before she said, “I would like to get done tomorrow,” easily. “As soon you two feel it’s the best time to do so,” she said. “I’m on board,” she said squeezing her husband's hand once more.
Dr. Bennett nodded at Ava’s words and she said, “I’ll get you scheduled up for 8am,” she said easily, jotting a note down on the chart. “We’ll take care of you Ava,” she said, reaching out now to place her hand on Ava’s leg over the blanket.
Dr. Rand nodded herself. “8am is perfect,” she said looking down at her own clipboard, flipping back to her schedule. “I don’t have an appointment until 12:30 and Ava by then your procedure would have been long over, and you should be resting,” she said thoughtfully before asking the couple. “Do either of you have any questions or concerns that we need to address?”
Samuel looked down at the ground as the women made their preparations in front of them. He nodded his head understanding his wife needed this and that everything would be fine afterwards. He drifted off into his own head for a moment before they asked them a question and he said nothing, he didn’t have a question to ask.
Ava looked at her husband for a moment before she looked at her two colleagues. “No, no questions or concerns,” she said gently.
Both Dr. Bennett and Dr. Rand nodded and took that as their opportunity to give the couple some time also. As they exited, Dr. Rand closed the door behind them.
As her friends exited, Ava gently tugged Samuel’s hand. “C’mere,” she said gently. She pulled him down to her a bit and she lifted her head slightly, pressing a kiss to his lips. “I’m okay,” she told him once more. “I’m going to be okay,” she reiterated, reaching her other hand up carefully, mindful of her IV’s and monitors, to stroke his beard.
Samuel looked at his wife as the women left and he moved closer to her as she kissed him and stated she was okay. “You aren’t,” he said brokenly even as she stroked his beard. “This is all my fault Ava I am so sorry,” he told her as he closed his eyes more tears pouring from him. He had probably never cried so hard and for this long his entire life. “I’ve ruined everything like I always do,” he told her as he opened his eyes with a shake of his head. “This is all my fault,” he whispered to himself again.
“Shh,” Ava said softly, carefully pulling him in for another kiss. “Shh,” she breathed softly. “I. Am. Okay,” she repeated once more for him. “I had a scare, but I am fine now, baby,” she said tenderly. She stroked his beard more, gently caressing his cheeks. “Shh,” she said, “don’t blame yourself,” she said softly before she turned her head for a moment to cough. “It’s all going to be okay,” she whispered. “Pull up a chair baby,” she said softly now, pointing to one.
Samuel looked at her and told him to be quiet, kissing him again. She stressed once more that she was okay and he didn’t say anything in response as he wiped his face with his shirt. Who else was there to blame in all of this beside himself. She told him to pull up a chair and he moved one up as she asked, sitting beside her with his hands in his lap. He swallowed hard and said, “I need to check on the kids,” his eyes focused elsewhere, “I need to check on Blue, Siena, Phoenix, and Luca… I have to check on the kids,” he breathed to himself.
Ava watched as her husband silently brought a chair over and sat down and she held her hand out for him once more, until he mentioned the kids. “Where are they?” she asked. “Blue is with them?” she questioned, remembering Blue leave before she passed out.
Samuel looked over to her slowly and he nodded his head at her. “Yes,” he said quietly. “Waiting room,” Samuel said back to her quietly, his hands in his lap still.
Ava gazed at him and she reached up, adjusting her oxygen tube a bit. “Can you get them and bring them in?” she asked him softly.
At her question Samuel nodded his head and he got up, doing as he was told. He looked at her before he moved to walk out the room she was assigned to. He closed the door and moved down the hall sticking his hands in his pockets. He made the route to the waiting room where all 4 of his children were and he moved into the room seeing them. Samuel quickly moved towards them and he sighed softly, his long arms collecting them and hugging them tightly to his chest.
Siena sat next to her siblings, her knees were to her chest in the chair and her oversized hoodie covered them, hood on her head. She rested her head against her knees; she felt terrible and she didn’t know why. Maybe if she just went along with the Jessie case her parents wouldn’t be so on edge and everything wouldn’t keep blowing up around them. As the door opened, she looked and embraced her father as he pulled them all in close, closing her sad red eyes.
Luca laid against the seats in the hospital room, his arms in his shirt as he sat there, unable to comprehend what was going on in his life, he felt like he was in someone else’s body. His mind wouldn’t stop running though, he didn’t know what it was saying and he hadn’t spoken a word after his calling Phoenix’s name at home. As he noticed his father through the large windows, he stuck his hands back through his shirt and he hugged the man tightly as his father hugged them.
Phoenix sat in her seat, rocking back and forth slowly as she tried to wrap her mind around seeing her mother laying on the floor lifeless. Of course, the thought of her parents possibly dying at some point in her life occurred to her, but it wasn’t supposed to happen right now. She was so distraught that she had no idea what to do or how to feel. As Samuel entered the room, she stood up quickly, burying her face in his chest as he opened his arms to them.
Blue sat there going over it, again and again in her head. Her mother was fine, she was up and talking to her, trying to ask her what happened and get her to stay. She wasn’t out of the house for five minutes before the ambulance was rushing past her. Seeing that medic team rush to her house made her heart drop to her feet. She had never moved so fast in her life. Seeing her mother laying on the floor like that broke her more than the words her father had spoken to her. As the man entered the room, she lifted her head, gazing at him before she stood up and moved into his arms willingly. At his point the argument was so stupid. The only thing that mattered was the health and safety of her mother and siblings.
Samuel held onto them tightly as he pecked their foreheads slowly one at a time. “She’s fine,” he said finally as he pulled them away looking down at them all. “The babies are fine too,” he said softly to him. “Everyone is fine,” he told them. “Mom wants to see you all,” he said, telling them further why he was there. “Before I take you guys to her, I just want you guys to know that I am really sorry you had to see that, I can’t imagine what you guys were thinking and feeling. No kid should have to see that,” he breathed as a tear rolled down his cheek, he sniffled. “But she’s fine,” he repeated to them.
Phoenix held onto her father, sisters, and brother tightly letting out a deep sob of relief from the back of her throat as Samuel told them that their mother was indeed okay, along with the twins. She was so relieved that her legs felt like jello as she stood there. She almost didn’t even hear her father’s words, she had so many emotions flowing through her but she managed to swallow hard and nod her head. “Just as long as mom is okay…” she said with a sniffle, her voice cracking a bit.
Blue clutched onto her family members for dear life, hugging them all tightly. She knew it was partially her fault. Maybe if she had of actually stayed and tried to speak to her mother, she would have been okay. If she had of been there, maybe she could have done something. Sniffling hard, Blue nodded at her father's words and she pulled away from him slowly, wiping under her eyes a bit before she looked down at Luca. She hoisted the boy up into her arms, hugging him tightly, her hand brushing over his hair. “C’mon, let’s go see her,” she said to her siblings, avoiding eye contact with her father as she nodded towards the direction, looking at Siena and Phoenix.
Siena nodded her head at her father’s words so grateful to hear that her mother was okay as well as her twin siblings. She exhaled a breath she didn’t even know she was holding that entire time. She held onto her father a little tighter now as she watched him cry. He’d been crying the entire time obviously; she’d seen him try to revive her mother and the whole time he was begging her to breathe he’d lost it somewhat and she didn’t know the man had that much emotion inside of him. She looked at Blue as she finally released Sam, her eye twitching a bit. “Yeah,” she breathed at her.
Luca hugged his father and he pulled away from him, looking up into his blue eyes as he cried. He would’ve wiped his tears but Blue hoisted him up before he could. He held onto his sister and looked at her, putting his head down on her shoulder sadly.
Samuel watched as the children pulled away from him and he wiped his face gently with his shirt again. He watched Blue and he nodded his head, “yeah,” he said, as he wiped his hands down his mouth. “Come on,” he said, ushering Phoenix and Siena by their shoulders, moving out of the waiting room doors, he moved towards the direction they needed to go in. They moved through another set of double doors turning the corner and moving towards the room Ava was in, he opened the door and let them all walk in before him into the room.
Blue moved down the hallway swiftly, letting Samuel guide the way a bit as she held Luca close, rubbing his back as he rested his head on her shoulder. She knew they were all taking it hard but Luca was different from the rest of them. The way he processed things was different and she felt like he out of all of them would need the most coddling and love and care throughout this situation. He was very smart and he understood many things but he was also very sensitive. Sighing out, she moved into the room as Samuel opened the door and she gazed at her mother lying awake in the bed. She bit her lip hard, biting back a sob.
Phoenix nodded at Blue moving with the rest of her family as she made her way towards the room. She sniffled hard, wiping her eyes a bit as they moved to enter. She dropped her eyes immediately, the sight of her mother in the bed laid up like that was a bit too much. She looked back towards her slowly, biting her lip hard as she stood near the door unsure of what to do.
Luca held onto Blue, his head still resting against his sisters shoulder gently as they moved into their mother’s room. He didn’t say anything, instead he pushed against Blue and let himself down. He walked up to the foot of her bed and he stared at her, they all didn’t have to embrace her but that wasn’t going to stop him from doing it. She was alive and honestly, that was so important. He moved in a flash to her side and he clutched onto her for dear life, holding onto her as he buried his chest into her chest and cried quietly. He didn’t know he’d ever see her again but she was okay and she was alive.
Siena walked into the room, standing there at the door with her sister and she looked at her gently before she moved away from the door. She licked her lips as she watched her brother and she looked at Blue and then her father. She smiled a bit, she was okay. Really okay. He hadn’t lied to them and she moved over to her, watching as Luca cried into her chest and she stood there beside him, her hand caressing his back gently.
Samuel watched the kids walk into the room. He closed the door behind them, releasing a soft breath. He licked his lips and he pushed Phoenix with him, holding her hand tightly, lacing their fingers. He pulled her with him gently. “She won’t break baby,” he told her quietly. “You can hug her, touch her,” he said, though he was terrified as hell to touch her just moments ago. Samuel looked to Blue, she hated him, he got it, but it wasn’t about them. So, he grabbed her hand too and moved her closer to Ava’s bed.
Ava opened her eyes slowly as her family entered the room and she smiled softly at them, letting them know she was okay before Luca was at her side pressed against her. She placed a gentle hand on his back, holding him there as he cried before she looked at Siena. She moved to place her hand over the girl’s on Luca’s back, giving it a squeeze before her eyes moved to her husband, Blue, and Phoenix. She gazed at Blue, very relieved to see that the girl was actually there. Piggybacking off of her husband’s words she said, “I am okay,” gently. “Come,” she reached out her other hand to Blue and Phoenix, gazing at the two of them.
Phoenix stood there gnawing her lip as she blinked hard, endless tears rolling down her cheeks. As Samuel grabbed her hand and pulled her close, she leaned into his chest, letting out a small cry as she nodded her head. Their mother was okay. She was okay. She. Was. Okay. As Samuel moved them closer, she looked at her mother, her eyes red as she slowly released Samuel and moved to Ava’s other side, taking her hand.
Blue placed her hand over her mouth as she watched Luca and Siena stand there with their mother. She should have been there. She shouldn’t have left the house. She was just angry. As Samuel grabbed her and pulled her to him, she reluctantly buried her face into his shoulder, crying hard, her shoulders shaking. As Phoenix stepped away, she wrapped her arms around her dad tight, hugging him as she broke down.
Ava looked at Phoenix as the girl walked over and she squeezed her hand lovingly before she looked at Blue once more. “Mama is fine,” she said to them all. “I had a scare, but I am fine. I will manage and we’re going to be okay,” she said softly, looking at Luca, Siena, and Phoenix before she looked at Blue as she hugged her father and cried. “Blue…” she said softly. “This is not your fault,” she told the girl before she looked at Siena. “This is not anyone’s fault,” she said, her eyes traveling to her husband. “It’s no one’s fault,” she repeated once more, “and I am going to recover and things will be okay,” she told them all lovingly before she pressed a kiss to Luca’s forehead, then leaned up a bit to press one to Siena’s and Phoenix’s.
Samuel looked down at Blue and she wrapped her up in his large arms, pecking her forehead gently. “She’s right,” he added to his wife’s words in a whisper. “It’s not your fault,” he told her quietly. Samuel looked back at his wife, it wasn’t any of their fault, but it was his. He patted Blue’s back gently before he moved her closer towards Ava, he sat down on the edge of her bed, his arms still around Blue. He rubbed her arm gently as he caressed Luca lovingly.
Siena smiled as at her mother’s words and she nodded her head as she looked back at her sister and father. She looked back down and she rested against the bed gently resting her head on her mother’s shoulder as she rested beside her.
Luca sniffled hard as he held onto Ava, feeling her gentle hand on his back and he blocked out everything that everyone was saying. Luca kept his face buried in his mother’s chest and he wiped his eyes gently with his hand, closing his eyes.

INVOLVED: Ava M. Evans and Samuel Evans
TIME FRAME: Monday, April 13th, 2020
LOCATION: Seattle Grace Hospital; Seattle, Washington
SUMMARY: Ava and Samuel find out the gender of the two latest Evans kids and the test results.
Ava sat on the examination table with a hum, looking over at her husband with a soft expression. She hadn’t mentioned it, but she had been sick to her stomach with nerves and worry about what these test results might be from her amino. Plus, all of the drama with Siena had her blood pressure high as hell. Sighing softly, she reached her hand out towards her husband.
Samuel looked at his wife as she sat there on the table and he held her hand as she reached out for him. He let his thumb rub over her knuckles gently and he smiled “it’ll be fine” he told her knowingly.
Looking at her husband, Ava sighed once more, and she nodded at him before she placed her other hand over her small bump. Not only were they getting the results of the amino today, but she was also officially sixteen weeks, so it was time for another examination. “It’ll be fine,” she repeated him as she rubbed her growing belly.
Dr. Rand knocked on the door lightly before she poked her head into the room, gazing at the couple with a soft smile. “Hello,” she said to them both as she moved into the room closing the door behind her. She grabbed the chair and wheeled it over, sitting down in front of Ava and Samuel with the clipboard in her hand.
Samuel nodded his head at the woman’s words, hopefully she believed that fully. When their doctor surfaced, he smiled “hi” he said easily to her as she continued to stroke her hand gently.
Ava looked up slowly as Dr. Rand moved into the room and she smiled softly at her colleague and friend. “Hi,” she said quietly, squeezing Samuel’s hand as the woman sat down. “Just give it to us straight,” she said softly, nibbling on her lip.
Dr. Rand gazed at the couple, biting back a chuckle at Ava’s eagerness and nerves. “Okay, so,” she looked down at the clipboard in her hand, reading over the chart and the results. “As you know the amniocentesis tests for chromosomal abnormalities, neural tube defects, and genetic disorders such as down syndrome, trisomy 21, cystic fibrosis, and spina bifida…” she said, looking between the two of them. “We tested for all that I just mentioned and many more and Ava I am happy to inform you that both of your babies came back negative for everything. We could zero signs of any chromosomal abnormalities, defects, or genetic disorders.” She shifted in her seat some leaning in a bit. “You didn’t have any major cramps or leakage of fluids so as you know, the test did not affect you or your babies negatively,” she said with a hum.
Samuel looked at his wife and then their doctor as she began to explain everything that they needed to know and the result involving it. She had explained to them both that both of their children had tested negative for everything there was, and possible. She went on to explain further that the fact that she had, had no complications due to the testing that everything was to be A-okay. Samuel released a breath he didn’t know he was holding, and he nodded his head. “Good,” he said nodding his head, perfect, everything would be fine in those regards at least.
Ava listened to Dorothy closely, nodding her head as she let out a deep sigh of relief, squeezing her husband’s hand a little more now, this time out of happiness. She lifted his hand to her mouth, kissing it gently before she asked Dorothy. “And my blood pressure is okay and everything?” she asked, knowing it had to be through the roof with all the stress.
“Well…” Dr. Rand began looking at Ava. “It’s a bit high but I do believe that’s due to stress and less of what you’re putting into your body, so you need to relax,” she said. “I’m not sure what is going on in your lives,” she said softly, “but Ava it is very important that you take it easy. Yes, these results came back great but you’re still at risk to experience various complications and stress is one of the worst factors in bringing things on,” she said to them, looking between the two.
Samuel looked to his wife and jerked her hand a bit playfully, he was supposed to be kissing her hand not the other way around. He hid the smile he had on his face with his fist, their kids were fine and that was a true blessing within itself. However, when the woman continued her speech explaining her thoughts on the matter of his wife’s health and how what she was going in her personal could affect their kids he looked at her. He had told her not to worry and here she was worrying. It was the prime reason for wanting to watch this boy go down, he hadn’t just ruined their daughter he was ruining other things around them as well. And Samuel couldn’t have that.
Ava let out a soft hum at Dorothy’s words and she looked over at her husband. However, as Dorothy began speaking about other issues and stress, she sighed. “I know…” she said quietly. “I have been trying not to stress, I really have,” she said, “there has just been a lot going on,” she breathed out sadly, looking at her husband. “I promise, I am trying not to stress,” she said to both her husband and doctor.
“I understand Ava,” Dr. Rand said gently. “You just need to be mindful,” she told her. “Now if you’re ready, we can also begin your examination,” she said as she sat her chart aside.
Samuel continued to look at Ava as she spoke, and he pulled his eyes away from her as the doctor in the room spoke up again. He nodded his head slowly before he looked to his wife at the woman’s question. “Yes” he breathed gently.
Shifting on the examination table a bit, Ava nodded slowly before she released her husband’s hand and moved to lay back. She rolled her shirt up, tucking it under her breasts and she unbuttoned her jeans, shifting them down her hips slightly, giving Dorothy all the room that she would need. Out of habit, she placed her hands over her stomach, holding her small pouch that was growing with their babies.
Dr. Rand nodded and got up, moving to wash her hands in the sink. She shook them dry a bit before she grabbed a napkin, drying them fully. Tossing the napkin in the trash, she turned to Ava and smiled softly. “Hands,” she said as she walked over, gently shooing Ava’s hands away to replace them with her own. Lightly she pressed and felt around Ava’s stomach with a small nod to herself. “Before even pulling over the ultrasound machine, I can tell you, that your babies are growing nicely,” she said, her hands still moving over Ava’s stomach and sides. “You’re starting to show a bit which is right on schedule for multiples,” she said with a hum before she turned from Ava, grabbing the machine and wheeling it over.
Samuel watched as his wife dropped his hand and moved to rest back against the table. He sat back in the chair and ran his hand down his jeans as he watched and listened to the woman. He looked at her stomach, haven’t notice much of anything himself but apparently his wife was showing now.
Ava giggled softly moving her hands out of the way for Dr. Rand. “Sorry it’s a habit,” she said easily as she moved her hands to her sides to allow Dorothy to feel and touch over her stomach. “Yeah…” Ava said softly. “I noticed it poking out around maybe week 14,” she said honestly. “Just a bit,” she said, measuring with her fingers. “Jeans are starting to fit just a bit tighter,” she said softly, watching as her friend moved to grab the machine. She looked at her husband and connected, “and you just love to touch it,” she said smiling reaching for his hand once more.
Samuel looked at his wife and their doctor, he licked his lips slowly as he listened to his wife explain that she in fact was starting to fill out in her jeans. At her comment he nodded slowly at her, so unaware that he was in fact gripping on anything more than her stomach. His wife was a fuller figured woman, she had rolls and a tummy a pudge never dawned on him. “Would you look at that…” he breathed quietly.
Dr. Rand smirked softly as she turned the machine on and got it set up to use on Ava, chuckling softly at Samuel’s words. She knew it was still a bit too soon for Samuel to probably really notice any major changes in Ava’s body. “Wouldn’t you,” she smiled as she seethed the transducer with a protective latex. She grabbed the gel and placed a bit on Ava’s stomach before she pressed the transducer against her. She moved it around slowly, before she found the two children. Looking to the screen, she said, “there we are.”
Ava looked at her husband and she chuckled softly. She squeezed his hand gently before she looked at Dorothy and she smirked. She looked at her stomach as she held the transducer there before her eyes moved to the screen to view their children. “Oh,” she said softly, tears coming to her eyes.
Samuel looked to their doctor tucking his lips in before he looked at his wife with a smile. He kissed her knuckles gently before he looked at the screen seeing their two babies on it. He still got butterflies and heart flutters every time he saw them on a screen.
Looking at the screen, Dr. Rand moved the transducer around a bit as she took in the side of the babies, the amniotic fluid levels, and much more before she finally said, “and the heart beats,” as she turned the volume up, focusing in on baby A first before she moved over to baby B. Looking at Ava and Samuel she asked, “and Ava you’re sixteen weeks, so would you like to know the gender?” she asked. She already knew, she had seen it on the report from the amino, but she enjoyed waiting until this part to mention it.
Ava smiled as her husband kissed her knuckles. “I still can’t believe it,” she chuckled lightly before she looked at Dorothy at her question and she nodded, “yes, we would like to know”. From just looking at the screen, she could see that they were having at least one boy, but the other baby wasn’t turned properly to tell.
Samuel smirked at her; he felt the same even though he didn’t say it back in response. “I know” he added however after a moment, at the woman’s question his heart began to race. “Yeah” he said along with his wife “what do we have cooking?” he chuckled. God please let there be at least one boy in there, please. He wanted another son so bad he could almost taste it, he needed one of the babies to at least be a boy.
Dr. Rand smiled at the couple as they said they would like to know and she looked at Ava knowingly, she knew the woman could tell by looking at the screen, but baby A was turned away from the monitor, hiding itself. “Well, baby B is a boy,” she told them confidently, “but your baby A is hiding,” she said with a smirk. “Lucky for you, the amniocentesis also breaks down the genders since that is indeed chromosomal,” she smiled. “So, I can confidently tell you that you’re having two boys,” she finally said.
Samuel heard the boy and everything else went blank in his mind and eyes for a moment before the woman explained that it was in fact two boys. What? How did he manage? Had the lord heard his prayers? Sweet Jesus. He had an even number now. He had 3 girls and 3 boys. “What?” he finally blurted out “are you sure?” he stammered. “Like really sure?” he asked the woman as he got up. “Two boys?” he said, raising up to fingers. “Two boys” he said with wide eyes as he looked at his wife. “Two boys? Oh my God” he said with a bright smile. “Yes” he exclaimed, “thank God,” he emphasized.
Ava looked at her husband as Dr. Rand revealed that they were having two boys. She watched as he erupted with excitement and she squeezed his hand. This was the most excited she had ever seen him. “Are you happy?” she asked him playfully with a wide grin.
Dr. Rand chuckled softly as Samuel began to babble with excitement and she took that time to snap pictures of the babies as well as finish up the examination. She cleaned off Mercedes stomach pulled the latex cover off the transducer, tossing both the napkin and the latex in the trash as she wheeled the machine back into the corner.
“Oh course!” Samuel said looking at the woman with large eyes “do you know how much I talked about a son after Luca?” he asked her in the moment. “And I now I get two for the price of one,” he said excitedly, a chuckle leaving him. “Happy doesn’t cut it,” he said with a bright grin. “I can’t believe it” he said “aren’t you happy and excited?” he asked her.
Ava smiled at him, giggling a bit at his words. “Oh, I remember,” she said softly, “but we also thought we were done,” she mused with a chuckle. As he mentioned getting two sons for the price of one, she snorted; she still had to push out two babies, so she didn’t know about all of that. “I’m happy,” Ava told him with a bright grin. “I am happy and I’m happy that you’re happy,” she smirked, gripping his hand tightly. “I love you baby,” she said gently tugging him down to kiss him. “You finally got your wish,” she smirked.
Dr. Rand tried not to listen now as she cleaned up the room a bit, washing her hands once more before she quietly said to the couple, “I’ll be right back,” honestly not even sure if they were aware she was still in the room as she slipped out.
Samuel nodded his head at her as she spoke, she was happy which was good. “I love you too” he said to her as she pecked her lips gently. “I did” he smiled resting his forehead against hers before he pecked her lips again. He leaned up and gave her a more serious look now “you promised you wouldn’t stress, so you can’t” he told her sternly. “Forget all of that stuff, it isn’t important right now, they are,” he said.
Ava smiled against her husband’s lips and she nodded slightly. As he pulled away, looking at her seriously Ava sighed placing her hand over her little bump. “I have been trying not to but it’s hard,” she admitted, “there is just so much happening all at once,” she said. “I will make more of a conscious effort though,” she told him truthfully.
“Not make an effort, do Ava,” Samuel said to her, there was nothing but authority placed in his voice when he spoke. “She doesn’t want us to do it, so we won’t” he lied to his wife. “You have to clear your mind of it all. Try yoga or meditation or whatever you have to do” he said “but she better not give us a report like that again” he said to her.
Ava gazed at Samuel at his words and she bit her lip hard as she nodded slightly. She took what he had to say to heart, and she sighed out, “I will relax,” she told him quietly, squeezing his hand gently. “I want our babies to be healthy and okay too,” whispered.
“Good” Samuel said to her easily as she said that she would stress less and forget about the case as a whole. “Thank you” he added “I appreciate it” he said kissing her lips.
Ava smiled, kissing Samuel’s lips once more. “And… Blue… I won’t stress about Blue…” she said as she thought about it.
Dr. Rand knocked on the door twice before she slowly opened it and placed the file on the counter. “Here you are,” she said as she did. “Uh, I have your images inside along with a summary of today’s visit,” she smiled, “I’ll see you in a few weeks,” she said.
Samuel nodded his head before thinking about it and said, “what about Blue?” confused. As the woman returned Samuel looked at her having forgotten about her and he nodded before he said “thanks” to her kindly, grabbing the items and handing them to his wife.
Ava looked over at the door as Dorothy popped in and out and she nodded at the woman, saying “thank you” as well before the woman disappeared once more. She took the folder from her husband and said, “oh…” she forgot she hadn’t told him what she had found out. While doing laundry a few weeks ago she had overheard Blue on the phone with Ariel talking about how she was taking a year off and staying home to help out around the house, which she truly thought was admirable of Blue but she never said anything because she wasn’t supposed to know. “Well… apparently Blue has decided to take a year off after she graduated to help out around the house… so she doesn’t plan to head off to college immediately,” she informed her husband.
At his wife’s words Samuel decided to take a deep breath and he said “okay” instead of saying what he really thought or felt in the moment. Blue would not ruin this happy day for him.
Sitting up on the examination table finally, Ava adjusted her clothing, fixing herself up as she watched her husband inhale and exhale. “We’ll talk about it later,” she said knowingly as she finished fixing her clothes and she placed her hand on his chest, rubbing him there gently, her acrylics scratching him soothingly.
Samuel looked at Ava and nodded his head “yeah Blue isn’t ruining my happy day” he tossed out as he moved to walk away from her. The man opened the door with a headshake. It was just one more added thing to wrap his brain around. He was tired.
Ava slid from the table easily, resting down on her feet and she nodded at her husband as she gathered her purse and followed him out the door. “Two boys,” she repeated to take his mind off of Blue.
Samuel nodded his head “two boys” he repeated happily with a smile back on his face as they exited.
INVOLVED: Samuel Evans and Ava Evans
TIME FRAME: Thursday, March 26th, 2020
LOCATION: Evan’s Residence; Seattle, Washington
SUMMARY: Samuel comes home from a long day or work and his wife supplies him some much needed relaxation.
Samuel moved into the large home, closing the front door he didn’t settle for the garage this time. He was always in and out due to work, the front door was easier. He quietly walked through it, one hand in his pocket the other holding his laptop back and blazer as he moved for his bedroom.
Ava had spent the day cleaning up the house a bit and scheduling various appointments. She had also had a conference call with a few of her co-workers about how she would handle work and how often she would come in for the time being. She was high risk and needed to step back and work a bit less, so she was taking the necessary precautions. By this time, Ava had cooked dinner for the family and eaten herself before showering and laying down for the evening.
Samuel faintly smelt food in the air, his wife had cooked but he didn’t take a detour to the kitchen. Instead he continued his trek towards their bedroom, taking the stairs one at a time. His house was quiet, however imagining everyone actually being asleep was farfetched to him. He turned his head down the hall, seeing lights off and then he turned to the left. “Hm” he said as he turned and moved to their room. He opened their bedroom door and closed it behind himself as he sat his laptop down near the sitting area in their bedroom, moving into their closet.
“Mmm,” Ava groaned softly as she heard the bedroom door open and close and she turned in the bed a little, her eyes still closed as she asked, “how was work?” groggily.
Samuel hung his blazer up and he walked back out of it unlacing his work shoes and pulling them off. “Uh… work” he said to her easily, it wasn’t something he was in love with, but it was a work and it paid bills once more. He tucked his shoes away in their closet and he moved to loosen his tie as he moved for their connected bathroom.
“Right…” Ava said softly as she nuzzled herself further in her covers. He really didn’t speak about the job Maya had gotten for him. She didn’t know if it was because it was indeed the job Maya helped provide and he knew how she felt about it or if he just really didn’t have anything to talk about when it came to the position. Sighing softly, she refluffed her pillow and got comfortable once more.
Samuel took his tie off and set it aside before he took his pants off and began to run the shower for himself. As he moved to hang his work pants up in the closet, hang his tie up, and toss his shirt into the hamper before he moved back into the bathroom rolling his shoulders.
Laying there, Ava listened to her husband as he moved around in the bathroom and as he moved into the room, she watched him. She yawned softly, slowly pulling herself up in the bed now. With a sigh, she slid from the bed and walked over to their bedroom door, making sure it was locked. She then pulled her shirt over her head slowly, dropping it to the floor. She moved into the bathroom with her husband and she placed her small hands on his shoulders softly, pressing a kiss to his back.
Samuel grabbed himself a washcloth and a towel, he sat it aside as he reached his hand out and checked the temperature of the water that was running before he adjusted it. He felt Ava behind him, and he looked down at her as she kissed his back, her hands working his shoulders. He was curious to know what she was doing, was she joining him? He moved to take his briefs off and he placed them aside. He climbed into the shower and moved beneath it allowing the water to come down around him, rinsing his long hair as he did.
Ava’s small hands rubbed his shoulders gently as he checked his water and adjusted it before he stepped in. She bit her lip softly, gazing at him. She stepped out of her panties and slid them to the side on the floor. She carefully stepped into the shower with her husband and rubbed her hands up and down his abs softly, biting her lip. “I can help you relax,” she whispered.
As she climbed in with him, he watched her wiping his hand down his face to rid it of water, he furrowed his brows at her words. “Hm?” Samuel asked questionably as he grabbed his body scrub and began to run his hands along his chest and arms exfoliating his body.
Gazing at him with soft eyes, Ava rubbed her hands over his sides softly as he scrubbed with his exfoliator and she bit her lip softly. She leaned up on her toes a bit, kissing his beard gently as he scrubbed and she stepped back, leaning against the shower wall, giving him room as he cleaned his body. She would wait.
Samuel continued to watch Ava, smirking as she leaned up to kiss him gently before she backed away from him and he ran the scrub against his abs and lower back of which he could actually reach. He rubbed his shoulder blades before he then moved to grab some more scrub and moved across his legs and his feet, letting the warm water wash over him as he did.
Ava watched Samuel scrub his body with a hum and she pulled her natural curls from the bun she had it in, letting her hair fall down her shoulders to her mid-back. She licked her lips slowly, rubbing her fingers through her hair as she gazed at her husband.
Samuel grabbed his cloth and he poured some of his body wash onto it, turning his back to Ava now as he lathered the cloth up and began to clean his body. He did so scrubbing his white skin red as he went over the same spots various times, he cleaned his upper half before he moved to his lower half. Turning back around he moved for his long legs and her feet, cleaning between his toes as he balanced on one leg and pressed his free hand against the wall.
Standing there quietly, Ava watched Samuel closely as he cleaned his body scrubbing over his skin thoroughly. She licked her lips waiting patiently for him to finish cleaning himself.
Samuel finished cleaning his body and he turned to the water again before he rang his cloth out and he moved for Ava kissing her lips. “You, relax me, how so?” he asked her now.
As Samuel finished cleaning himself and moved to her, Ava kissed his lips back sweetly. His question caused her to smirk a bit and she turned them slightly, giving herself a bit of room as she squatted before him. She looked up at him through her eyelashes as she took his dick into her hands and began to stroke him slowly.
Samuel felt her smirking, he allowed her to turn them both around in the space pressing him against the wall as he gripped her large ass in his hands, before she squatted. He watched her with a heavy haze, and he licked his lips wrapping wet hair into a bun, as she wrapped her hands around his dick stroking it to life.
Ava smiled up at her husband and she licked her hand for a moment, getting it slick before she continued to stroke him. As he grew in her hand she smirked, and she kissed the tip of his dick as her hand worked up and down the length of his shaft.
Samuel continued to watch Ava as his dick grew hard from her simple actions, when was the last time he fucked his wife? Hm. He couldn’t remember. And that was a problem. As she kissed the head of his dick it twitched from the sight and he leaned his shoulder blades against the wall resting his head back as he looked at her from this angle.
Ava licked her lips slowly before she took Samuel’s dick into her mouth, moaning as she did. She wrapped her plump lips around him, taking him deep as she did before she sucked all the way back to the head slowly. She repeated this action, taking him deep into her mouth, her lips wrapped around him as she sucked.
Samuel watched her lips wrap around him and he closed his eyes gently, a hum leaving him at the feel as she sucked on his member gently. Her mouth and throat would always feel amazing to him, he planted his feet in the wet environment they were in and he opened his eyes figuring he should have turned the running water off.
Ava closed her eyes as she got into it more and more, she absolutely loved sucking her husband dick, though she didn’t get to do it that often. With a house full of children, they often had to settle for quickies and quickies didn’t offer much time for things like this. She moaned as she slurped at him, her tongue rolling around his girth. She pulled back, spitting on his dick, her hand working up and down his shaft again before she took him back into her mouth. She began bobbing her head, sucking him up and down with a moan, her hand working up and down his length in sync with her mouth.
Samuel groaned softly as she actually got into the groove of it all and began to suck his dick like the expert, he knew her to be. She did it effortlessly and without trying which really is what he loved. He could watch her suck his dick all day and never get tired, opening his eyes he did just that. His dick disappeared and reappeared through her thick lips repeatedly and it made him quiver.
Ava moaned and groaned softly as she sucked Samuel’s dick, taking him deep down the back of her throat. She slurped at him, her tongue rolling around his girth as she took him deep. She breathed through her nose as she jutted her tongue out to lick his balls with his length down her throat. She moaned once more, pulling back some to catch her breath before she took him deep again. Her eyes fluttered slightly, and she whimpered as she did so. She pulled back, lapping at his head now as she stroked him with her small hands.
She sucked dick like it was a sport, and he liked watching her ravish in doing so. He blinked heavily, his eyes were tired, as her tongue glided over his balls his stomach muscles flexed on their own accord. Samuel tucked his hands behind his back, and he inhaled deeply humming out softly as she lapped at his head. Her actions made him smirk and he turned his lips up as he gazed hazily.
Ava slowly opened her eyes and she looked at her husband with a small smirk as she licked down the length of his dick, to his balls. She licked at them, flattening her tongue before she sucked them into her mouth, her hand still stroking his dick. She sucked on his balls, her eyes closing as she let out a moan. She knew it drove him crazy when she did it.
Samuel bit back his smirk as his wife moved to suck his balls into her mouth, that drove him crazy and she knew that. He loved having his balls sucked, touched, played with, and gripped. He didn’t know why; in his older age it was such a turn-on and a very easy way to assist him in reaching his peak. As she continued to play with them, his stomach muscles tightened again, his pac rippling due to the action and he continued to keep his hands to himself and behind his back as she worked.
Ava’s tongue slid between his balls and back up his shaft slowly as she took him back into her mouth. One hand stroked up and down his length in time with her head bobbing, lips wrapped around his dick and one hand fondling his balls. “Mmm,” she moaned out, her pussy dripping wet for him.
Samuel kept his breathing steady; she was trying to get him to cum in her mouth, but he could hold out much longer than this if he wanted to. And she knew that herself. He licked his lips as she took him back into her mouth and began to bob her head once more against him. His hips bucked only slightly at the feel of her warm mouth edging him on once more.
Moaning out, Ava slurped at him sucking and lapping at his dick before she took him deep once more. She relaxed her jaw, breathing through her nose as she sucked him deep, gagging herself just slightly as she did. She played with his balls more, massaging them in her hands as she sucked him.
Samuel smirked at her feeling her fondle his balls once more, and he pulled from the depths of her throat and he licked his lips. Pulling her up he hooked his hands beneath her ass, hoisting her up. His hands rested on her thighs and he gripped them as he slid into her heat, feeling his way hoping he was aiming for the right spot. And he did, pushing into her depths before he began to pump in and out of her lightly.
Ava groaned as Samuel pulled back and hoisted her into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck, legs around his waist as she gripped into him. As he slid into her pussy, she dropped her head back, whimpering out, “fuck,” softly. Her lips parted and her eyes closed as he stroked her.
Samuel licked his lips once more as he continued to pump in and out of Ava nice and deep, he bounced against his hard dick as he gripped the back of her thighs in his large hands. He groaned softly to himself at the feel of her wet pussy gripping him for dear life, however he swallowed the groan down and continued to work his hips upwards in this position.
“Baby,” Ava groaned out as Samuel fucked her and she whimpered, her tongue rolling over her lips before she lifted her head and kissed him, one hand pressed into the wall behind him, the other on the back of his neck. “You feel amazing,” she whispered with a moan.
“Oh yeah?” Samuel asked her huskily as he continued to fuck her in the shower. He shifted on his feet carefully moving towards the water itself. Samuel rested her on her feet and turned the water off before he pressed her up against the glass and pushed himself back into her from behind. Samuel rammed into her, her ass jiggling against his hips as he reached in front of him, his hands splayed against her stomach holding her there.
“Yeah,” Ava moaned out. As he shifted their bodies, Ava stood in the shower, watching as he turned off the water. She bit her lip hard, turning as he moved her, and she pressed into the glass, arching her back for him. As he filled her up once more, she moaned out, her hands pressed into the steamy glass. “Fuck daddy,” she whimpered, as he gripped her stomach, she reached back with one hand, holding him by the back of his neck as she pushed back against him.
Samuel watched the bounce of her ass as he pumped in and out of her repeatedly. She felt so good and she didn’t even know it; his eyes rolled close. Feeling her hand against the back of his neck he bit his lip and continued to pound into her, pressing her into the glass more. His hands still continued to cradle the bump that was beginning to form in front of her and he panted softly to himself.
“Oh baby,” Ava whined out, her head dropping as she pressed her forehead into the glass. “Deeper,” she panted softly, pushing back against him harder. She slid her hand from the glass, to between her legs and she began to stroke her clit. “Don’t stop,” she begged.
Samuel pushed deeper into her depths as she begged him to, he licked his lips once more picking up his pace as he fucked her. She told him not to stop so he didn’t, he kept up his pace and he gripped her stomach in the process gripping her back down against his dick as she began to strum her clit.
Samuel fucked her deeper and she closed her eyes, moaning out loudly before she clamped her lips shut, she didn’t want the kids to hear her. “Just like that daddy,” Ava cried out as she stroked her clit. Her thighs began to shake, and she panted hard. “Fuck baby, I’m going to cum.”
Samuel let out a grunt before as he continued to work in and out of her hard and fast, at her cries he didn’t let up. He slid his hands to her hips instead and took in her cries of pleasure. “Mhm” he replied easily as to her as he smacked her soft ass with his large hand.
As Samuel fucked her deep Ava pushed back against him, her thighs trembling. “Fuck,” she groaned out, her fingers working relentlessly against her clit. “Shit,” she panted out, her mouth hanging open as she came hard with a loud moan. She continued to push back against him, her body shaking as she did, her eyes rolling back a bit.
Samuel’s large hands held her thick hips in place as she continued to stroke her long and hard. His hips thrusting his length in and out of her as she came hard beneath him and he closed his eyes as her pussy pulsated and worked as a vacuum to suck him in further if that were possible at all.
“Baby,” Ava whined out as he continued stroking her and she leaned back against him, her back to his chest as she pushed her ass back, back still arched. “Fuck,” she whispered out, a loud moan escaping her as her thighs trembled. She moved her hand from the back of his neck to his ass, gripping him there, her nails digging a little. “Daddy,” she whimpered.
Samuel bit his lips as soft pants left his mouth, he was nowhere near being close, but she had plenty of tricks she knew she could use to set him off and make him cum if she wanted him to. He continued to grip her thick hips changing up the tempo sliding in and out of her long and slow. His eyes closed slowly as he offered her a forceful thrust and a low moan as he continued his ministrations.
As Samuel changed his pace, Ava’s eyes rolled back, and she groaned out the rising and falling of her chest slowing with his stroke. He was trying to milk her now. Fuck. Her hand gripped his ass even tighter as she moaned out, her tongue rolling over her lips. “Baby,” she whined out. “Don’t stop,” she panted softly, her ass bouncing off of him with each forceful thrust. Slowly she brought his hand from her hip to her throat and she made him squeeze a little, her eyes closed as she lolled her head back against his chest.
Samuel continued his long and slow deliberate thrust into her, making sure he tapped her spot each time he did so. As she cried for him once more, telling him not to stop he didn’t. She grabbed his hand and wrapped it around her throat, and he licked his lips as he held her by it. The action causing him to pick up his pace once more and he began to ram into her once more, fucking her hard against the glass as he were before.
Eyes closed, Ava’s eyes continued to roll behind her lids, and she whimpered as he squeezed her neck for himself. She gasped out, falling forward some her hands pressing against the glass once more as he picked up his pace, fucking her hard. “Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck,” she panted out as she threw it back against him forcefully, her round ass rippling off his pelvis and abs. “I’m cumming,” she cried out loudly before she clamped her lips shut as she purposefully clenched her walls even tighter around his dick.
Samuel groaned gently as his hand squeezed his wife’s throat gently, he didn’t apply too much pressure especially when she started to cry out again. At her words he smirked and pulled out of her, his cream coated dick pressed against her ass “when do I cum then?” he asked her huskily, he leaned in and pecked the side of her face. Another smirk grazing his lips as he turned her around pressing her against the glass again with his hard body.
Breathing hard, Ava’s chest rose and fell rapidly as her legs trembled from her orgasm. As Samuel pulled out of her, pressing his dick to her ass, she moaned out, gasping softly. “Fuck,” she whispered as he pecked her face and turned her around. She slowly opened her eyes, gazing up at him as he used his hard body to press her against the glass. Her eyes were glazed over with lust and she said, “now,” she whispered as she reached between their body, stroking his dick in her hands, her thumb rubbing over the head of his dick repeatedly.
Samuel growled lowly at her, as she began to stroke his dick and he looked at her with dark eyes. He wanted to go all night if they could, he wondered if she would as he opened the door to the shower. All night wasn’t likely, A he had work at 6 am and B he knew how tired she could get from this pregnancy, but he needed the sexual release. Licking his lips, he pulled her out of the shower mindful of their wet bodies he planted his feet firmly against the ground as he gripped her thick sides, fingers gripping fat as he tugged her towards the love seat. “Bend over” he requested again.
Ava groaned at the way Samuel was looking at her, he gazed at her like he wanted to devour her. It made her weak in the knees. She whimpered softly under his gaze. She held it as he opened the shower door and tugged her out. She bit her lip hard, mindful of their wet bodies and the tile floor as she moved with him. Her fingers met his on her sides, gripping her love handles there and she moaned again. At his command, she acted quickly, turning her body and bending over for him, her round ass in the air as she pressed her palms into the cushion, her knees planted shoulders width apart. Looking back at him over her shoulder, she slowly arched her back for him.
Samuel looked at her as she moved onto her knees and he slid back into her, his hands pressed into her lower back as he began to fuck her once more. Samuel drilled into her heat groaning at the feel of her creamy wet pussy once more and he bit down on his bottom lip. “Fuck” he said quietly.
“Oh!” Ava gasped out as Samuel slid back into her with no mercy. Her ass rippled against him and she gripped the sides of the bench as she dropped her head. “Baby, fuck…” she whispered out as she threw it back against him, meeting him thrust for thrust. “Let me ride it,” she whimpered out.
Samuel watched her ass; it was such a turn seeing the bounce and the jiggle of it against his hard body. Her words stopped his actions, going straight to his head and his dick as it twitched inside of her. He pulled out and said “alright” as he slapped her round ass firmly.
Ava felt Samuel’s dick twitch inside of her sensitive pussy and she moaned. As he pulled out of her, she slowly stood up and grabbed him, turning them around. She pushed him to lie back on the bench before she climbed over him. Licking her lips, she reached between her legs, stroking her pussy with her fingers before licked them clean. A hand on his chest, the other with her fingers in her mouth, she sunk down on him, closing her eyes as she did.
As Ava pushed him back Samuel plopped down against the bench, his long body used it as a toy practically. Resting on his back his feet planted once more as she climbed on top of him. He watched her with a deadly glare as she moved to lower herself down on him again. As she did, he gripped her round ass and held her by it, moaning at the feel of her on top of him now.
Ava rose up on her toes and the balls of her feet as she finished sucking her fingers and placed that hand on Samuel’s chest too. She opened her eyes, looking at him with so much passion and lust as she lifted her hips, only to drop them back down slowly. She moaned out softly, taking one of his hands from her ass and moving it to her breast. Her hips lifted and dropped against him at a steady pace as she stared down at him, gazing into his eyes.
Samuel looked up at her as she placed both hands on his chest riding him slowly, it was a slow burn, but it felt like pure heaven honestly. She moved his hand and placed it against her breast which he didn’t hesitate to squeeze them hard in his hand, he always loved her body. Her breast, her ass, even her stomach. Love handles didn’t bother him, and he always felt her thick thighs gave him warmth. Licking his lips, he closed his eyes as he rocked his hips in time with her, a once messy bun unraveling as she carried him into pure ecstasy.
Breathing deeply, Ava rolled her hips as she sunk down against her husband over and over again. She lifted up, until just the tip of his dick was inside of her before she sunk down slowly, groaning as she did. It was a pace that she knew drove him crazy and set her off too. She continued to stare into his eyes as she essentially made love to her husband and she whispered out with a moan, “baby I love you” before she leaned forward, capturing his lips as she continued to lift and drop her hips slowly.
As she continued to ride him just right, Samuel groaned softly to himself. Fuck, his wife was amazing in most everything she did. He opened his eyes only for a second at her words and he closed them again “I love you too” he groaned out as he slapped her ass with his free hand the other falling from her breast. He held her in her position, wrapping his arms around her waist as he thrusted his hips upward. “Fuck” he hummed pressing her fleshy stomach into his hard abs.
Ava moaned out as he slapped her ass and she placed her hands against his shoulders as he wrapped her up. “Fuck!” she whimpered in unison with him as he began to thrust his hips upward. She bounced her ass down against him and she dropped her head into his neck, panting softly. “Fuck baby,” she whispered out. “Cum in this pussy,” she commanded him as she felt her own orgasm swirling once more.
Samuel breathed heavily, licking his lips as she pulled every imaginable sensation from him. His toes curled as she bounced her ass up and down against him. “Shit” he said, his eyes squeezing shut a bit as he loosened his grip and cupped her ass bouncing her up and down. “Don’t stop” he said, Samuel wasn’t usually as vocal, but his wife happened to feel damn good right now. As he commanded him to cum his abs tightened, his balls tingled for some release. He continued to grip her by her ass, dropping her down against him before he came silently shooting his load inside of her with a quiet grunt as his body shivered.
Moving up and down his thick shaft, Ava panted out in the crook of his neck and at his words, she swirled her hips more before he gripped her ass. She squeezed his shoulders some, her eyes shut tightly. “Fuck baby,” she groaned out. As he came in her, she felt his warmth and she whimpered as she sucked on his neck, cumming herself, her walls clenching around him with a vice grip as she trembled with him, her hips still bouncing on their own accord as she moaned out his name.
As she came above him, he smacked her ass once more for good measure before he forced her to kiss his lips lovingly. Samuel looked at her for a moment before he said “you were right” easily.
Ava panted out as she stopped the bounce of her hips as he kissed her. She moaned against his lips before she said, “about what?”
Samuel looked to her with a smirk “you have relaxed me” he said with a wide grin as he pecked her lips again. “Come on” he said popping her hip ushering her to get up “now you have to bathe…”
Ava chuckled softly, feeling so worn out now from their romp. “You’re welcome,” she said lovingly before she kissed his lips. She slowly rose up from his lap as he popped her hip and she groaned softly as she stood to her feet. “I’m so tired,” she admitted.
“Then we will bathe you and put you to bed” Samuel told her as he stood up on his feet and pecked her lips again moving her to the shower.
Ava smiled softly at her husband as she nodded, and she moved with him towards the shower. Reaching inside, she turned the dial almost all the way up.
Samuel winked at her as she moved into the shower turning the water back on and he moved in with her after he grabbed her a cloth. Samuel poured a little body wash into his cloth and into hers as he stood beneath the water again cleaning himself up again.
Ava moved under the water with her husband, smiling softly as she did. She took her washcloth, letting it get wet once more before she allowed Samuel to pour some body wash into it. She lathered it up before she began to run it over her body, cleaning herself for the second time that night.
Samuel did a quick wash over on his body, before he rang his cloth out and placed it over the rack in their shower. He twisted his hair up and bunned it before he moved to climb out before her, grabbing his towel and drying off. Samuel moved to grab her one as well placing it aside before he began to pat his body dry.
Ava washed over her body, being sure to get between her legs before she rinsed off and rang her towel out. She allowed the water to run through her loose hair as well before she stepped out of the water, turning it off as Samuel finished rinsing off as well. She leaned over some, ringing out her hair before she accepted the towel and wrapped it around her body, patting down some as she stepped out of the shower. She yawned softly, covering her mouth as she did. Drying off completely, Ava moved into their bedroom to put on a fresh pair of pajamas for the evening.
Samuel looked his wife over before he moved into their room and put on a pair of boxers. Once he did that, he stretched his tired limbs climbing into their bed for the night, he looked at the clock before he hummed, getting comfortable and closing his eyes.
Ava dropped her towel into the floor and pulled on a pair of cotton shorts and a t-shirt before she climbed into the bed. She used a scrunchie and pulled her hair up into a bun before she laid down against her husband, her hand on the small baby bump that she was growing. She closed her eyes and let out a deep tired sigh.
My stomach is starting to poke out just a little. I am actually beginning to feel pregnant, outside of the fatigue and the nausea. Thank God for the second trimester. I actually have energy again and feel like maybe I can go back to work.

TIME FRAME: Wednesday, March 18th, 2020
LOCATION: Evans’ Home; Seattle, Washington
SUMMARY: Siena comes to her parents telling them that she was afraid to pursue legal actions against Jessie and that she no longer wanted to.
Siena moved down the hallway, her hands fidgeting with nothing in particular as she knocked on her parents’ bedroom door gently. She had her head down because she knew she was about to do something that was going to disappoint them greatly, but in her mind, she had to tell them exactly how she felt and why.
Ava laid in bed, rolled over onto her side as she stared at the TV, chuckling a little towards the screen. She was twelve weeks, the last week of her first trimester, and she was elated. She was finally starting to feel a bit better; her morning sickness was subsiding; she had more energy. Things were looking up, at least for the time being, she knew from previous pregnancies that the second trimester was the sweet spot before, the third hit and things went downhill again. However, for now, she would enjoy the grace that the second trimester brought her. She shifted slightly, stretching out her legs as she placed a hand on her small baby bump that was slowly but surely beginning to protrude a bit. She was a big woman, so it didn’t look like much, but she knew it was there. Her twins were healthy and growing.
Samuel sat in a chair in the room, Maya had actually managed to land him a government job and he had dove into it headfirst wanting to make up for the last several months he hadn’t done so. No one asked him to, he could have started off at a small pace, but he had to prove he was as good as Maya made him out to be. He owed her that much. Ignoring the tv and his wife’s chuckles he looked up hearing a knock at their door for a moment before his eyes moved back to the MacBook. “Come in” he breathed easily, his voice carrying as he continued to type again on the keyboard.
Siena waited patiently for someone to say something and when her father finally did, she opened the door and let herself in. She looked at them both timidly and she sighed “can I talk to you guys?” she asked her mother and father quietly her head still bent downwards as she didn’t budge to look at them directly.
Ava looked over at her husband as he spoke and she looked to the door confused, not having heard anyone knock. However, as Siena entered slowly, Ava sat up a bit, propping herself up on her elbows as she muted the TV. “Of course, sweetheart,” she said as she patted a spot by her on the bed.
Samuel watched Siena walk into the room with them and he watched the door close behind her. Looking over to his wife he nodded his head “yeah” he agreed as he moved to save his document and he sat his computer aside as he looked to them both from where he sat.
Siena finally looked up moving to her mother, she sat down on the bed before she looked back at Samuel. “I wanted to talk to you about… him” she breathed her eyes gazing down at the ground.
Ava sat up fully as Siena sat down beside her and she slid over to Siena in the bed, wrapping her arms around her child at her words, knowing whatever she was about to sat had to be hard. She was still so livid at the thought of that boy. She always would be. He had violated her child. As a mother, she felt very conflicted in her feelings. She wanted to kill the boy with her bare hands, but she knew that she couldn’t. She wouldn’t put another mother through that pain, but God, did the idea make her feel good.
At Siena words Samuel stayed seated where he was, with work and that he was swamped and tired. But he could be the man they needed him to be, all of them. No matter what Mercedes friends thought and said. He licked his lips slowly and waited for the blow that would hit them due to whatever she had to say.
Siena looked at her mother as she moved beside her, and she said “I don’t want to do the whole case thing” easily. She just blurted it out “can’t we just stop it?” she asked them next still playing with her fingers.
Siena’s words hit Ava hard and she let out a harsh breath as she looked over at her husband, her hands rubbing up and down Siena’s arms instinctively. She did not want to hear this. She wanted that boy behind bars, rotting until the end of eternity for what he had done, but she also had to respect her daughters wishes. “A-are you sure?” she asked Siena, still in a bit of shock.
Samuel listened to Siena as she spoke before them and he sighed heavily, this is not what he wanted to hear. “No” he said to his wife because the better question was “why Siena?” he asked now. “He can do this to another girl” he said to her as he stood up moving in their direction.
Ava looked back at her husband at his protest and she sighed deeply, her eyes closing for a moment. “Baby girl, your father is right,” she said, still rubbing Siena’s arms. “The only way to stop him from thinking what he has been doing is okay is to place him behind bars,” she said softly. “Not fighting this, lets him run off and take advantage of countless more girls,” she tried to reason with Siena. “If the last girl had of spoken up and fought, this wouldn’t of happened to you,” she said softly.
Siena looked at her mother ignoring her father for the time being and she looked back down. “I don’t think I can do it” she told them easily. Losing all her words and thoughts now here in the moment with them.
Samuel looked to Ava and then to the girl, he folded his arms over his chest as he listened. “So, one has to fight against him and sorry, I wish it didn’t have to be you. But you have to use your voice for a greater good Siena. You are stronger than you think, you can do what those other girls could not do” she breathed out. “Think about it, why would you want to see anyone else suffer….”
Siena looked at her father on the brink of tears and said “because I am scared dad” forcefully.
Ava frowned at Siena even more and she sighed out deeply as she hugged her daughter close to her chest. “Baby girl,” she said softly as she looked over at her husband. Siena’s outburst startled her, and she looked down at Siena shocked. “It’s okay to be scared sweetheart,” she said as she held Siena tighter. “You’re telling your story,” she said softly. “It’s going to be hard,” she said, “but you’ll come out the other side even stronger,” she whispered to her as she began to rock Siena in her arms.
Samuel looked at her and he looked down at her outburst, moving to pace in the other direction he sighed heavily as he leaned his back against a wall behind them. He tilted his head up and looked at the ceiling.
Siena looked to her mother and said as kindly as she could “please, don’t make me do this” he eyes glossing over. “If you loved me at all you would drop this please,” she said. His parents were going to make their lives hell and she knew it. “His parents are going to kill us” she said “they are going to make our lives hell” she stressed. “None of us can afford that right now” she told them both “especially not you mom” she reasoned easily.
Ava’s eyes watered at Siena’s words and her heart shattered in her chest as she began to sniffle, trying to hold it in. “Siena,” she said softly, her voice wavering a bit and she cleared her throat as she listened to her daughter, excusing her cursing in that moment. “You don’t have to,” she said softly, knowing her husband would not agree but they had to respect Siena’s wishes. “If you truly do not want to, you do not have to,” she said her voice trembling as she held back her tears.
Samuel looked to the back of their heads, fuck, just like that this kid got the opportunity to do as he pleased with innocent people and why? From fear. He licked his lips slowly and said nothing to either of them as he moved to sit back in his seat again.
Siena looked to her mother and she closed her eyes, falling into her mother and she squeezed her as tightly as she could. “I can’t let anything hurt or harm you three, mama” she said her head resting on her mother’s chest. “I am sorry if let you both down” she said sadly, defeat laced in her words.
Ava was trying her hardest to hold back her tears, but she was failing miserably. “Sweetheart,” she breathed out, “I’m fine,” she said, “the babies and I will continue to be fine,” she informed Siena lovingly as tears rolled down her cheeks. “You’re not letting us down,” she said gently, rubbing Siena tight. She knew her husband would feel differently but they had to support their child in this moment.
Samuel sat his arms resting on the armrest of the chair he was in; his hands were clasped before his lips. He wanted the motherfucker in prison so bad, he was literally biting down on the inside of his cheek, drawing blood now. He understood the girl’s nervousness, without much mention he could tell in their kid’s actions that they were trying desperately to make their mother’s life as stress free as possible. But this was bigger than then and two babies, there were girls hurting like her and he couldn’t imagine how much worse it could have been for them, or less. He needed to be punished.
Siena continued to cling to her mother, hearing her words and she sighed softly to herself. After the realization of why Blue was choosing to stay local and wait a year to go to school, she told herself she had to sacrifice something as well. Her mother meant the world to her, she couldn’t imagine life without her, and she knew this would end badly if she let them pursue this. She had heard stories by now, she knew what they were up against.
Ava rubbed Siena’s back, rocking her daughter in her arms as she clung to her. Ava pressed a soft kiss to Siena’s temple, and she said, “we love you no matter what and if you change your mind, we will always be here for you and handle it however you see fit,” sadly. It was breaking her heart to know that this boy would get to run free, sexually abusing other girls and getting away with it. “Do you want to continue therapy?” she asked quietly, sniffling a bit.
Siena nodded her head “yes ma’am” she said to her softly “it actually helps mama. I feel a little better each time I go” she confessed to them easily.
Nodding slowly, Ava pressed another kiss to Siena’s temple, letting her lips linger there. “Okay,” she said softly, her body rocking instinctively now as she cradled her child in her arms. “Whatever you want to do,” she repeated lovingly before she lifted her head, looking back at her husband with tear-filled eyes. They had to handle the situation one way or another.
Siena nodded, finding comfort in her mother’s arms for what it was worth all of them were their safest there. “Thank you, mom,” she said easily “and dad” she said though very quiet in those regards. Her father was a bit hard on them, they knew it was for good reason but sometimes even if they all didn’t say it, they knew they let him down in one way or another with their decisions in life. Licking her lips, she pulled away and looked to her mother “I’m going to go” she said softly looking back at her dad for a moment before she all but tiptoed out the room closing their door behind them.
Samuel avoided looking in his wife’s direction and he exhaled slowly as Siena excused herself from the room. He rested his head back on the chair and he shook it, wow, just like that, hard work on his and his wife part was down the drain.
Ava held Siena until she pulled away and she nodded a bit. “You’re welcome sweetheart,” she said in a soft tone. She watched Siena exit the room, waiting until the door closed before Ava got out of the bed and moved for their bathroom, connected to their room, and she shut the door behind her, crying.
Samuel watched as his wife got up and went into the bathroom and he let her bed, allowing her some space right now.
Ava pressed her back into the door, sobbing a bit as she did. She couldn’t believe this. How could Siena honestly expect them to do nothing. To accept a payout and move on. Turning, Ava opened the door and she stepped out, looking at her husband as she shook her head. “Sam…” she croaked.
Samuel looked to Ava as she finally moved for him and he reached out for her, ushering her to his lap and he hugged her tightly to his broad chest. “It’s okay Ava” he said to her strongly. “There’s no need to cry or worry. We all have choices in life, this is hers” he said reasonably. He pecked her forehead lovingly; he knew he’d take matters and justice into his own hands. That was the only way now.
Ava nodded slowly as Samuel pulled her into his lap and she curled into him, holding him tightly. “We still have to do something,” she said as she sniffled hard, a hiccup escaping her. “Baby we can’t just… let him be free,” she said as she shook with her tears.
“What did I say?” he asked her tilting her head up by her chin and he looked into her wet eyes. “There is no need for you to cry or worry” Samuel repeated himself.
Ava let out a deep sigh, sniffling. “Y-You’ll take care of it,” she said in a soft tone as she hiccuped again.
Samuel nodded his head at her and said “yes” to her as he caressed her sides lovingly. “I will handle it” he told her confidently.

SUMMARY: Ava and Samuel attend an appointment to have an amnio done after Ava decided that she did want to go through with the procedure.
Ava sat on the examination table, her entire body trembling from worry and nervousness. She was 11 weeks and right in the window to have an amniocentesis done; she had agreed to it, but Lord, she was scared. She understood that the risks were only a small percentage to bare in comparison to all of the knowledge they would gain from the testing, but those risks weighed heavy on her. She was 43, these children she was carrying we’re little miracles and she didn’t want to in any way risk losing them. She would probably never get another opportunity to have more children after this. Plus, the entire procedure was scary. However, she would suck it up because she knew it had to be done. Looking over at her husband, she reached for his hand, her own shaking as she watched two nurses prepare everything for the procedure.
Samuel stood in the room, he was in a corner off on his own, his arms folded and every now and again he would stroke his beard as he calmed himself. If he looked panicked it would only panic her, if he showed fear, she’d read that, if his nerves got the best of him well Ava would flake. This is something that apparently, they needed done, so they had to do it, no matter what. She’d explain the risk to him but the benefits he also knew of as well and felt still strongly that whatever she decided he would support. As she reached for his hand, he grabbed it in his and held it tightly feeling her trembles. He didn’t say anything, honestly, he wasn’t good with words and had never really been. He only tried his best to explain himself and he always felt kind of stupid around her, Samuel wasn’t dumb, but he kind of knew years ago Ava was out of his league and it showed.
Ava held Samuel’s hand tight, looking at him with big scared eyes. She couldn’t even speak; she was so fearful. Instead she just tugged him closer, holding onto his arm. She looked over at the long, thick needle, before she closed her eyes tightly. She was a doctor, she should be more put together than this, but this was a whole other level of fear. These were her children she was talking about. Letting out a breath, she opened her eyes and gazed up at her husband once more.
Samuel looked down at his wife and he looked away from her watching the other two bodies occupying their space. He looked back at her and pondered what to say in his head for a while before he noticed the doctor walking into the room with them and he licked his lips slowly. The quicker they got it done, the faster they could move on. Though he knew for a fact that it wouldn’t be a quick procedure.
Dr. Rand moved into the room and she looked at the couple knowingly “hey” she breathed out to them as she moved to wash her hands and placed a fresh pair of gloves on. “Are you ready?” she asked trying to lighten the mood.
Ava looked over slowly as her friend and colleague entered and she smiled weakly. “Hi,” she said in a small voice as she turned on the examination table, lying flat on her back as needed. “Yes, let’s just get it over with,” she said squeezing Samuel’s arm tightly. She pushed out four kids, all natural, she could handle an amino, right?
Samuel looked to the Ava’s colleague and he finally spoke “hey” he said politely speaking to her as he always did. At Ava’s words he looked between the two falling silent again as his heart pounded against his chest, he was pounding so hard he could hear it and wonder if anyone else in the room could hear it too. As Ava clutched his arm he looked down at her fully and he offered her a small smile, reassurance laced in it.
Dr. Rand nodded her head at Ava “of course, as quickly as I can right” she said back to her in response and she moved beside her. “Of course, nurse” she said trying to remember the girl’s name “Bridget” she said actually having called the right name “is going to hold the transducer in place, while I stick the needle in” she told Ava. Rand gathered the long needle in her hand, and she watched as the younger girl located both children at an angle and in a view of which they’d benefit from after having turned the ultrasound machine on and placed some gel on Ava’s abdomen.
Ava smiled back at her husband just slightly before she closed her eyes, laying her head back. She needed to relax, she just needed to think about something else. That was all. Suddenly, she began humming to herself, trying to take her mind off of everything happening around her. “Okay,” she said in response to her friend before she continued to hum, eyes closed as she gripped her husband’s arm.
Dr. Rand continued to watch the screen “right there” she told her easily, she’d done this enough times to know the precise moment when she found a clear enough point of entry for them all. “Okay Ava, I am going to insert the needle” she told her over the woman’s humming. Before she used the actual needle for the procedure, she took the time to grab another injecting some anesthetic into the area the needled would be placed numbing that area a little. She wanted to keep her alert although she was clearing trying to drown them out, she needed her to be still and she couldn’t have the woman move while she did this. It could be fatal if she did. Rand moved with the long needle and considering she wasn’t that far along she pinched off a roll a little as she began to push the needle in very slow and steady. Her eyes were more focused on the screen than on Ava herself, as she pierced layers of skin and fat moving very, very slow. “You may feel a cramp Ava, it’s just the needle piercing the sac” she told her as she watched it enter her womb essentially.
Samuel looked down at Ava again as the women began the procedure and he looked at the screen briefly watching their two babies before he looked at her. Her eyes were closed, and she was humming softly to herself, so he didn’t bother her. Instead he focused on her drowning out the other stuff. He happened to look over at the woman as she inserted the needle and swallowed hard, his wife was a trooper he didn’t know if he could stand looking at it let alone taking it himself.
Ava continued to hum, gripping Samuel tightly. She didn’t move a muscle, she barely breathed as she hummed out, “mhm,” in response to Dorothy, letting her know the process was about to begin. Ava kept her eyes closed, if she looked at the thick, long needle she would lose it. So, she had to stay focused elsewhere. Instead, she continued to hum, and she thought about their babies, imagining the sex and wondering what they would look like after they were born. As Dorothy gripped her stomach fat and pushed the needle through, her face scrunched and her grip on Samuel’s forearm tightened just a little, but she remained still otherwise. She knew what dire consequences moving even just a little could have and she didn’t want to put any more risk on anyone’s hands. She stopped humming and began moaning softly from pain the deeper the needle pierced and as Rand informed her that she would feel cramping, she pulled her bottom lip into her mouth, slowly opening her eyes to gaze at her husband. Feeling the cramping pain, her acrylic nails gently dug into Samuel’s arm and her eyes grew wet with tears, it was killing her not to move, not to jerk her body, and it hurt.
Rand attached the barrel to the end of the needle, and she began to draw the plunger back collecting a sample of amniotic fluid from Ava’s womb all while she watched the screen and the movement happening around it. Once she filled that one up, she detached it and placed it aside for the other nurse to label and bag properly before she attached another barrel and removed more fluid from Ava. she moved slowly enough to let the clear fluid fill them and once that one was filled as well, she detached it and rested it aside. The worst part was over for Ava, she began sliding the needle back out of Ava, she moved a little quicker than she had pushed it in however she still moved steady and once it was out she sat it aside and said “it’s over” to her finally breathing for the first time herself. “Bridget is going to monitor them for a while to make sure their heart rates are steady” she said as she pulled her gloves off tossing them in the trash. “And you will probably feel mild cramping or even pressure in your lower abdomen. And of course, we don’t advise any physical activity, any stressful activities, or even sex for about 24 hours” she said to Ava.
Samuel watched her face as the woman pushed the needle further and further into her stomach and he licked his lips slowly. His other hand stroked her hair as she gripped his arm tighter beneath her nails. She was clutching him for dear life, and it hurt like hell, but he was sure it did not compare to hers. As the woman wrapped up the procedure he smiled gratefully and looked at the woman. He listened to the things that she told Ava as he looked down at her, as the other girl in the room continued to watch their children on the ultrasound monitor.
Ava stayed still, gripping her husband tight, tight, tight as Rand drew the fluid that she needed from her body. She knew her friend would take her time and make sure it was all right and viable but God, she just wanted it to be over. When she finally felt the needle pulling from her body, she let out a soft breath, blinking hard as a tear slid down her cheek. She sniffled a little, still staying very still until the needle was all the way out of her and finally, she looked to the screen, gazing at their children as she loosened her grip on her husband’s arm. “Mild?” she asked, shaking her head. “Feels like contractions,” she whispered to her friend. At the rules, Ava nodded. All she wanted to do was go home and go to sleep. “Okay,” she said easily.
“Contractions?” Dr. Rand said with a chuckle at Ava “you’ve had how many kids naturally?” she asked her with a smirk. “Mild” she reassured before she told her “if it gets worse or more intense you know what to do” she said easily as she looked back to the screen. Their children’s heart rates were fine and overall in her opinion things had been a success. “They look good Ava” she told her thoughtfully. “And I am sure everything will turn out fine” she said.
Samuel caressed Ava’s shoulder gently as the women finally stopped poking and prodding at her. In his mind the worst wasn’t over, the waiting for the results is what was going to kill him. He had faith that everything would be fine, but what if it wasn’t? What would they do? How would they cope? And what strain or toll would it take on them?
Ava looked at her friend and smiled weakly. “Four,” she said with a small chuckle as she shifted on the examination table a bit. “I should be fine,” she said softly, sliding her hand down Samuel’s arm to his hand, lacing their fingers. At Dorothy’s words, Ava nodded slowly before she looked up at her husband, gazing at him and taking in his expression. “You okay baby?” she asked, blinking away her tears.
Samuel just stood there silently; he was in his own thoughts at this point of time. At her words he looked to her “huh?” he asked softly. “Yeah” he nodded his head quickly. I am fine, he said their hands now laced.
Rand chuckled at Ava “and I am sure of it” she said to her easily as the girl wrapped up the sonogram. She cleaned Ava’s stomach off quickly and began to clean up their area. “All clear” she told her before she prepared to leave.
Ava looked at her husband a bit more before she looked at Rand and nodded slowly. “Thank you,” she said to her friend as she sat up carefully. She held her husband’s hand as her other pulled her shirt down and she slid off the table carefully. “When will we get the results back?” she asked.
Samuel helped Ava to sit up right on the table and he helped her down as well sliding both hands in his pockets as his wife asked a very important question.
Dr. Rand stuck her hands in her white coat as she stood by the door and she said “3 days for the basics like: Down’s syndrome, Edwards’ syndrome or Patau’s syndrome” she listed off on her fingers. “Anything rare can take up to 3 whole weeks for them to test” she told her honestly.
Ava bit her lip as she stood there, and she nodded slowly. “Okay, thank you,” she said before she turned to her husband, burying her face into his strong chest as she let out a deep, sad sigh.
Well it was about time, and not to mention it but we do have 2 more kids on the way. You did far too much for him Ava, he has to pick up the slack and stop being so damn spoiled.
He’s 11. He still has time to grow up baby. I helped my baby boy, of course I did, but not always. You make it seem like I didn’t make him do anything on his own.

TIME FRAME: Saturday Morning, February 22, 2020
LOCATION: Seattle Grace Hospital; Seattle, Washington
SUMMARY: Ava and Samuel attend Ava’s second doctor’s appointment, encountering Ava’s judgemental friends and learning that Ava has high blood pressure and needs to get CVS or amnio.
Ava sat on the examination table, her hands folded comfortably in her lap as her mind ran a mile a minute about Siena and the case they were forming against Jessie.
Naomi stood before Ava, gazing at her friend with soft eyes. She couldn’t believe Ava had been dealing with so much on top of being pregnant. She looked at Samuel and squinted at him.
Natasha stood beside Naomi, looking at Ava before she looked at Samuel. “This is too much stress,” she said to him before she looked at Ava, with a frown on her face.
Samuel sat among the catty women, talking among groups and chatting it up was never his thing. He didn’t like people in his business and his wife’s friends were her own, they weren’t his. He was cordial but anything more fell at the wayside as he was addressed by one of the women, he looked at her. “I am aware,” he said in short as he looked to his wife.
Ava lifted her head, looking at her friends with a deep sigh. “I am fine,” she told her friends before she looked at her husband knowingly. “Y’all need to get back to work,” she said lovingly to her friends. “Please, give us some privacy.”
Naomi squinted even harder at Samuel. She was fond of the man, but she couldn’t believe he was letting Ava stress herself like she was doing trying to hold a case. She understood the situation of course, but it was a lot for Ava right now. At her friend's words, she sighed. “Come on ‘Tasha,” she looked at her watch. “I have a in a few surgery.”
“Mmmm,” Natasha said with a hum before she looked at Ava and she frowned deeper. “Alright, I’ll talk to you later Ava,” she said as she took Naomi’s arm and the two walked out.
Samuel looked away from his wife as she spoke to her friends, someone had a complex about him, and he could give a fuck. As they left the room, not too pleased with the response they received from his wife. He watched them go and rolled his eyes away from the door, resting his hands in his lap he sat quietly as they waited for their doctor essentially.
As her friends left, Ava looked to her husband and she sighed. “I’m sorry about them,” she said softly, reaching out for her husband to take her hand, she rested her other on her stomach gently. “I’m not stressing,” she told him. “I’m fine.”
Ava apologized to him, and Samuel said nothing to her in response. As she took his hand and explained how she wasn’t stressing and that she was fine; neither were true, this he knew however, he didn’t fight her on it. “They find me inadequate… your health isn’t their first concern,” Samuel said lowly. He blinked slowly before he sat up in his chair and turned his attention to something else as he rolled his jaw agitatedly. “I didn’t ask you to take any of this on by yourself. Dumb and dumber should know that,” he said his eyes fixed on a diagram on the wall.
Ava frowned at her husband. “I don’t care what they think,” she told him gently. “I’ll set them straight later.” Pulling him closer, she gently tugged on him, trying to get him to stand, knowing he was irritated. “I’m not taking on anything by myself,” she whispered. “I have you,” she said lovingly. “I know you’re by my side baby.”
Samuel looked to Ava again, “hmph,” left his tightly lined lips. He didn’t bother people; he found no need from them to bother him. Poking and prodding at a quiet beast, unknowingly. As she tugged him towards her a little he didn’t budge, he supposed it wasn’t her fault her friends were dumb, but Samuel wasn’t in the mood for the lovey-dovey bullshit and the overly understanding manner of which he handled everything with his wife and children. “Hmph,” he said again, a chuckle leaving his lips as he turned his head slouching in his chair, they were stupid, especially if his wife had gone back and talked any shit about him to them.
Frowning as her husband didn’t get up, Ava gently tugged him once more. “Baby,” she just about whined softly before there was a knock on the door. “Come in,” she said loud enough, lacing her fingers with her husbands.
Dr. Rand moved into the room slowly, looking over Ava’s chart with a frown. “Good morning Ava,” she said looking at the woman before she looked at Samuel. “Good morning Samuel,” she said greeting him as well before she took a seat and sighed. “Ava,” she began out-right. “Your blood pressure is through the roof,” she said straight-up, not beating around the bush.
Samuel looked to his wife before he looked to the door and he nodded at the woman. “Morning” he said back to their doctor. At her words he looked to his wife and then back to the doctor. Of course, it was, because the woman that thought she had it all together did not.
Ava looked at Dr. Rand and she sighed, dropping her husband’s hand, resting it in her lap. “How high?” she asked sadly. High blood pressure was not a good sign at all. With her age, weight, and twins, it was extremely dangerous for her and the babies.
“It’s bad,” Dr. Rand said as she eyed Ava’s chart. “You’re at a very high risk for preeclampsia and gestational diabetes,” she informed the couple. “I don’t know what’s going on but Ava if you want to have a healthy pregnancy, you have got to relax,” she said honestly. “I would suggest, working less, maybe only a few times a month and start doing some light exercises like walking or yoga,” she said looking at Samuel, who she knew would keep Ava in check and accountable. “You need to cut back on the salt, sugar, and fried foods, and introduce more fruits and vegetables, raw or lightly cooked,” she said with a knowing squint at Ava.
As the doctor went on to explain the danger of his wife’s current health issue, Samuel raised a brow at the woman and then Ava. Of course, who didn’t know stress was dangerous it led to a multitude of things he knew and they both did as well. Samuel looked to the doctor nodding his head at the woman. “No problem, she will do all of that” he said looking to his wife with a serious expression.
Nodding slowly at her colleague and friend, Ava sighed. She had known. She had been dizzy and lightheaded and just hadn’t said anything because she didn’t want to worry her husband or their children. “I understand,” she said looking at her husband as he spoke. She gazed at him; her eyes soft as she nodded.
Dr. Rand nodded at Samuel before she looked back at Ava and she said, “outside of your blood pressure, the rest of your vitals look fine.” Sitting the chart aside, Dr. Rand finally asked, “how have you been feeling? Morning sickness, cravings, you know…” She looked at Samuel once more, knowing he would tell her the truth and the whole truth.
Samuel looked to his wife as she spoke, a non-protest, was that a knowingness in her voice and subconscious? He was going to kill his wife once they left here because he couldn’t believe her. Looking at the doctor he said, “morning sickness?” questionably, “it’s all day sickness, 24 hours a day, she doesn’t stop throwing up. She should be down like 20 pounds,” he told their doctor.
As Samuel spoke up, telling the doctor that her morning sickness was bad, Ava nodded along. “Yes, I’ve had horrible morning sickness,” she admitted. “I throw up at the least 4-6 time a day, rather I’ve eaten or not,” she admitted. “No cravings just aversions,” Ava told Dorothy. “I’ve had the occasional headache every now and again,” she whispered truthfully.
Dr. Rand jotted down the information before she said, “well with twins, it’s common to throw up more due to the excessive hormones.” Shifting in her chair, looking to Ava. “Hyperemesis gravidarum is a condition that also happens while pregnant, usually with twins. It’s excessive morning sickness, usually start before normal morning sickness at about 3 or 4 weeks and typically last longer than regular morning sickness but studies have shown that it’s not really harmful,” she said looking between the couple, “however, if you experience brownish vomit or blood in it, fainting, rapid heart rate, or confusion after throwing up you need to see a doctor immediately,” she said sternly as she continued to write in Ava’s chart. “As you know aversions are typical and so are headaches with pregnancy, but Ava you know if it persists, come on in and get checked out,” she instructed before she sat the chart aside and moved to prep the ultrasound machine.
As the woman spoke clarifying that his wife wasn’t experiencing something that wasn’t normal Samuel nodded his head. Well that was a good thing in his opinion, yes it sucked that she had to go through it but if no one was harmed by it that was good news. Samuel looked between the two of them as they spoke of her other symptoms and he nodded his head feeling that she was still very normal even with those things. “Okay,” he breathed simply, she just needed to rest, he got that. What was new?
Ava wasn’t an OB, so there were some things that she didn’t know, however, hyperemesis gravidarum was one of the things that she did. She thought about it every single time she found herself leaned over a toilet or a trashcan and she knew it wasn’t harmful, just annoying. Nodding along, she slowly began to lay back, unbuttoning her blouse, and opening it wide as she laid back on the examination table. She was nervous and excited to see their children again. It still baffled her that she was 43, going on 44, and pregnant.
Rand got the machine all set up and ready before she turned to Ava and rolled it over. She grabbed the gel and carefully squirted some into Ava’s stomach before she grabbed the probe and gently rested it against her. She rolled the probe around, spreading the gel and searching for the babies until she found the pair. She smiled, looking back at the couple briefly before she began to examine the screen.
Samuel looked at his wife as she laid back on the table and he shifted to stand up moving beside her as she unbuttoned her shirt. As their doctor being the exam, he watched on looking as the children appeared, gratefully, and gently rested a hand on her shoulder comfortingly.
Ava slowly looked up at Samuel as he stood beside her, her lips pursed slightly, however she said nothing. She slowly looked back to Dorothy, then the screen as their children appeared. She gently placed her hand over her husbands on her shoulder, a small smile pulling at her lips.
Dr. Rand looked the babies over on the screen, rolling the probe around and around before she said, “Baby A appears to be a tad bit smaller than baby b, however, that’s common,” She looked back at the couple, “especially this early in stages,” she explained. “Ava you’re nine weeks exactly today and I’m seeing two beautiful little heartbeats,” she said pointing to the screen, pointing out the heartbeats. “I’m seeing two very healthy twins,” she said to the couple. “Ava, if we want to keep up with this, keeping both you and the babies healthy, I would honestly suggest trying to lose at least 10 to 15 lbs. I know I said before that you didn’t need to but considering now the high blood pressure, it would be best for all three of you.” Looking back at the screen, she examined more. “Yok sacks look good; I’m seeing healthy levels of amniotic fluids…”
Samuel looked to the screen and took their children in, watching as the doctor moved about. She pointed out their heartbeats and he smiled at that, they were having babies, two babies, he still couldn’t believe it often. He caressed her shoulder gently as she placed her hand on his. As their doctor mentioned his wife needing to lose weight, he licked his lips slowly and looked down at her. He didn’t remember when the last time his wife lost weight, she stayed pretty consistent and had been since Luca. She had always carried a little of his baby weight with her and he didn’t mind it but who was to say how many she’d gain from the pregnancy in the first place.
Ava nodded slowly, gazing at Dorothy as she told her that she needed to lose weight. Sighing out, Ava looked at her husband. She went to the gym twice a week and ate fairly healthy, her body was honestly just comfortable at its current weight, however, she would try. “I’ve been at this weight for the last 10 years,” she stated honestly. “However, I will try to drop a few pounds,” she said looking back at her husband, her bottom lip tucked into her mouth. Slowly she looked back at the screen and she nodded, smiling at their babies heartbeats.
“I understand,” Dorothy said to Ava easily before she began snapping photos for the couple. “Ava after this I’m going to have you go down for a blood test, we’re going to test for sickle cell, thalassemia, and antibodies,” she explained. “Should be quick and painless.” Handing Ava some tissues, she rolled the ultrasound machine back into the corner. “Now Ava,” she said gently, knowing this was sensitive. “I know you didn’t get A CVS or an amniocentesis done previously with all your other children,” she began, “but you’re older now and with Luca, I think it would be best to have one of the two done,” she said looking at Samuel now. “The CVS is the Chorionic Villus Sampling, along with the amniocentesis. It’s how we test rather your babies will have any type of chromosome abnormalities. The processes is very helpful in learning about your children however, they carry a risk of pregnancy loss of between 0.5 and 1 percent,” she said honestly.
Samuel looked to his wife and she promised to try and lose a little weight for their children's sake. He would try to help her as best he could, he went to the gym often he knew how the process of losing weight went. As she went on to explain these procedures, he looked at his wife this was all foreign to him and he was sure she knew far more.
Ava looked at her friend nodding slowly. A blood test was easy-peasy. However, when Dorothy began talking about getting a CVS or amnio, she frowned her face as she began to squeeze her husband’s hand tightly in her own as she listened to Dorothy explain it to Samuel. She swallowed hard, shifting slightly, clutching the napkins in her other hand. “D-Do I have to get it done?” she stammered out nervously. The thought of an amnio scared her half to death and a CVS was no better. She looked up at her husband, her eyes filling with tears at the idea of it.
Samuel watched his wife and he pulled the napkins from her hands as she pressed the test with their doctor. He wiped her stomach gently, clearly, she didn’t want them done he could tell by the sounds of her voice. Once he cleaned her stomach off with the napkins and balled them in his hand and stayed quiet.
Dorothy placed the ultrasound back before she moved to wash her hands and she looked back at Ava. “No, you don’t have to get it done but I would highly suggest it,” she said truthfully. “Ava, you know it’s important however, it’s not mandatory. You have a few weeks before we can do it, so sit on it and just think about it,” she said as she dried her hands, looking between the couple. “Any questions?” she asked them, wanting to know before they she left the room to get their pictures and updated informational packets, along with a breakdown of their visit for the day.
Samuel tossed the napkins in the trash and he shook his head at the woman. “Nope,” he said for himself before he looked to his wife. Who knows what she would choose for the both of them, but considering he was so uneducated on the topics, he’d leave it to her and not command her to do anything.
Ava bit her lip hard. She knew that she needed to get it done, it would be for the best, but she was scared, one wrong move and one of her babies, or truthfully, both of her babies, could be gone. The thought made her face flush white and she looked at her husband, shaking her head at the question from Dorothy. “No questions,” she said softly, watching Dorothy leave before she looked at her husband, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “Either procedure is a risk,” she said her bottom lip trembling.
Samuel looked to her. “Baby I am here to support you fully,” he said, “whatever you want to do I will side with you,” he reasoned. Samuel moved closer towards her, resting between her thighs as he hugged her to his chest. “It will be okay; I just need us to surface again, right now I feel like at every turn we are drowning baby. It’s such a rough patch…” he said hugging her tightly to him.
Big brown eyes blinked slowly, and a tear fell down Ava’s cheek as she gazed at her husband. She nodded slowly; her bottom lip poked out slightly. “I know,” she whispered sadly. They really just had far too much going on. She was pregnant, they were dealing with Siena’s situation, they were looking for a new school for their children, Samuel was jobless. It was a lot. She was emotional one-hundred and ten perfect of the time. “We just need to prioritize,” she said gently, sniffling a little as she hugged him close. She got very quiet before she said, “we can do the amnio…”
Samuel caressed his wife’s back gently with his large hand, as she cried a little into him. Crying had become her new outlook on everything these days, big or small, it was cute. He nodded his head at her before she responded with what she felt they needed to do. “Only if you want to,” he reassured her.
Nodding into his chest, Ava sniffled patting her face dry. “It’s for the best,” she said quietly as she gazed up at him. “I’ll power through it with you by my side,” she whispered before there was a knock on the door.
Rand slowly poked her head into the room with a smile. She sat the documents down on the counter before she closed the door, not wanting to interrupt the couple.
Samuel pulled away from his wife and he dried her tears gently before he nodded. “Okay,” he told her. She had made the decision and now they needed to move forward with it. He began to fix her top for her, buttoning it one at a time before he said. “You can’t work on that case for Siena, Ava. So, I will do it, alone,” he told her, “and don’t fight me on this,” he added sternly. “It is too much for you to deal with,” he said.
Ava smiled softly at Dorothy as she sat the papers on the countertop before disappearing once more. Looking to her husband, she nodded slowly before she opened her mouth to protest as he told her that she couldn’t work Siena’s case. “Sam…” she trailed off quickly at his stern words. She gazed up at him, her bottom lip poked out as he buttoned her shirt for her. She smoothed her hands down her pencil skirt and nodded, “okay…” she said softly. “You’re right…” she admitted. “I’m stressing and I don’t need to be.”
“Right,” Samuel said to her before he said, “and I will get a job.” She hadn’t mentioned it but lately he felt like people were throwing jabs at him for it. Making him feel less than. “I am more than capable of providing for my family,” he said, “and I am not stupid,” he told her as well. “A job will come,” he sighed as he finished the last button and pulled away from her.
Ava nodded slowly, reaching up to gently stroke his beard with her nails. “I know baby,” she said softly. “I haven’t brought it up because I didn’t want to pressure you,” she admitted softly. “I know you are baby, and I believe in you,” she told him lovingly before he pulled away from her. “Have you thought about starting your own company?” she asked him tenderly as she slid down the examination table, resting on her feet in her flats.
As she spoke, Samuel sighed to himself, outside of her friends how many more people around them considered him to be shit. He was trying, people just didn’t see it and all his hard work. “I have but it’s too much money needed to start it up,” he shrugged. “I think Maya is going to help me with a job…” Samuel told his wife.
Ava sighed at her husband's words. “We could get a small business loan,” she said thoughtfully before he mentioned Maya. She bit her lip gently and said, “oh…” she moved to grab her purse and grabbed the documents off the counter swiftly as she moved out of the room. “What kind of job?” she asked now.
Samuel grabbed his keys and phone as he followed behind his wife. “She thinks she could get me into the cybersecurity department with her,” he said. “Federal Government development,” he said with a bit of excitement in his voice as he did. “She could really do me a solid,” he told his wife, “she’s such a good person, I couldn’t repay her enough even if I tried… I’d owe her my life,” he said as he walked behind Ava.
Ava moved down the hallway, the thought of Maya already irritating her. She knows that Samuel said she was a lesbian and they were just friends but something in her gut still didn’t sit right about the woman. As he spoke about the woman and owing his life, Ava stopped dead in her tracks, turning her head slowly to gaze at her husband, her face contorted. “Owe her your life?” She questioned exaggerating every word before she began stomping down the hallway. She couldn’t believe the nerve of him. She reached the front desk and quickly scheduled another appointment before she moved for the elevator, her arms folded of her chest as she held her purse, her eyes rolling as she tapped her foot. “Samuel…” she began with a huff, “I do not like her…” she said out-right.
Samuel looked down at Ava as she repeated his words to him, and he stuck his hands in his pockets. “Well yeah,” he said easily. As she moved to stomp her way around her looked to her crazily, she scheduled her next appointment and moved for the elevators in which he followed her to as well. “Don’t like her?” he said questioning her now. “Ava,” he breathed, “that is a good job, a good paying job. What is there not to like?” he asked her. “She’s trying to help where other people are not, she’s being a friend. A real friend,” he said jabbing at both her and the two other women from earlier.
Ava jabbed her finger into the button repeatedly now. “Do. Not. Like. Her.” She repeated punctuating every word. At his next set of statements Ava whipped her head around to look at him, curls bouncing. “Oh, okay,” she said with a huff as she stepped into the elevator and pressed the close door button before he could get on.
Samuel looked to his wife as she moved to climb on the elevator, she didn’t give him the chance to join her. Instead she closed the doors and he yelled, “Ava,” to her quickly double tapping the button on the elevator. “Ava!” he yelled again as his fist hit the metal doors loudly. “You have got to be kidding me,” he said as he moved for another elevator with a shake of his head.
Ava rode the elevator straight down without a hitch as she silently fumed to herself. Owe her my life, she said back to herself in her head rolling her eyes. “A crock a crap,” she mumbled to herself. Stepping off the elevator, she moved into the lobby and sat down in a chair by the door as she waited for her husband.
Samuel waited for an elevator and he sighed to himself heavily, he was so tired. Why didn’t anybody ever care to check on the head of the household sometimes too. He was just trying to do what he knew needed to be done and the main thing on his list was snagging an actual job.
Sitting there, Ava calmed herself down and started thinking rationally once more as she waited for her husband. He did need a job, no matter how he had to go about getting one and if Maya had a job for him, he should take it. As much as she loathed the idea.
Samuel finally climbed onto an elevator pressing the ground floor, and he road it unknowing where his wife was by now. He did know, however, if she left without him, he was going to have to kill her. He didn’t care how bothered she was by Maya, some things you just didn’t do. As he finally made it to the floor, he exited off of it and looked around, spotting his wife. He looked at her with a disappointed grimace as he moved for the exit.
Ava let out a sigh, picking at her skirt now as Samuel moved towards her and she stood slowly, moving behind him in silence now. She felt bad. She shouldn’t have left him like that. “I’m sorry baby,” she said sincerely as she placed her hand on his back, looking up at him as she walked beside him, trying to keep his pace.
“No, you aren’t Ava,” Samuel said shaking his head at her. “God,” he breathed agitatedly at her. He ran his hands through his long hair as he moved out of the entrance of the hospital and he moved for the parking spot they had gotten. “I am starting to think being home gives everyone the open window to shit on me every day all day,” he told her. “Fuck Sam,” he said with a headshake “I hope I find a job quick,” he mumbled under his breath as he pulled the keys out of his pocket.
Ava frowned at her husband and she moved silently as he now went off on his tangent as she had done just minutes before. She moved with him silently for the car, pushing some of her hair over her shoulder. As he pulled out the keys, she moved around to the passenger side, holding onto the handle waiting to get inside.
Samuel unlocked the door and climbed inside of the car, when he did, he leaned back resting his head on the seat. He was tired, he needed a nap and maybe even another vacation.
Ava opened the door, sliding into the car and closing the door behind her. She buckled herself before she sat back, looking over at her husband before she shifted, sitting her purse on the car floor. Reaching over, she rubbed her husband's shoulder tenderly.
That makes sense. I can’t really imagine what she’s feeling on the inside. Look Ava if she doesn’t want any part in this, we aren’t going to make her. No matter how easy it would make our work.
Yes, honey. I’ve already spoken to her about it. I told her that if she doesn’t want to testify she doesn’t have to. If she doesn’t want to be involved in the process at all she doesn’t have to. If she wants us to drop the charges and stop it all, she just needs to say the word.
